Good grief. I come back like the prodigal son, and there is icky green stuff underneath the crispy bacon in photo one. Photo 2 does not show on my screen for some reason, but assume it’s the usual single portion 1 foot cubic block of bacon. And (shudder) — gooey cinnamon buns that only fill you up and take room in your stomach better reserved for more bacon!

We just beat ’em to death up here czar……November 19th… A 65 year old man was arrested at 3:00 in the afternoon for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest..they threw him in the county detention center.
Three and a half hours later the 65 year old was pronounced dead…yep, he’d been beaten & stomped to death by another detainee in the same jail cell.
Our county detention center is verrrry small… one detention cell……must have been a heck of a coffee break the on-duty officer engaged in…..or maybe the cameras were broken..yeah that’s it..

Total shootings in NOLA over the Bayou Classic weekend – 22.
Latest news on the 10 people shot downtown on Canal Street, all are out of the hospital except for 2 but they are doing well. City and news won’t say straight out but in the single report tonite they said (about 5 times in as many minutes, that the shooter was from out of town, the shooting seemed to be related to a fued, it occurred at about 3 AM after the Bayou Classic game. If you’re from down here (or from the North Pole, actually) you can connect the dotses.
The reporter interviewed store owners on Canal Street who all said, though only one would appear on camera, that they fear for their safety every day due to the thugs roaming the street. The City is still looking at making areas at certain times, or all of the time, gun free., Problem there is that the criminals know that the honest folks won’t be carrying while they’re not fazed by a possible misdemeanor when they’re out to perpetrate a felony…or two…or more.
The city is caught between trying to protect all of its citizens and trying to not irritate certain groups who feel the laws are unfair to them. The courts already pander to violent young thugs, they’re still becoming adults with juvie rap sheets long enough to pave a buffet table, they’re heavily released back to parents who can’t control them. Eve the juvie facility the parish uses is a hole, guards had to resort to an entry team a few back to control a riot only to have apologist groups complain these poor innocent children were mistreated. No mention of the damage the thugette rioters did to other inmates and staff, no mention as to what they were in for and what their rap sheets looked like…that would be prejudicial. Nope, they want more catch-and-release and community-based treatment. They’ll be out on the (Canal) street, y’all come visit.

Local high school here had a shooting. Police officer shot a gun wielding 17 year old menace, thankfully no one else was shot.
Picked my friend’s daughter up amongst the chaos, she heard the shots but thankfully didn’t see anything, some other children were not so fortunate.
Left my gun in the car.
Really interesting seeing all the different personalities converge in such a stressful situation.
Only thought about punching one parent clear in the throat. Reminded myself that self control is a sign of the civilized.

Teen agers are amazing. They all had different stories and all them consistently said that the menace had shot a teacher. That turned out not to be true. But they were all convinced it was.
My ward wanted to go back in and get her backpack. Nope. As I told her and she found out later, no one got back in.
