Stella's Place 
It is a totally dark night, no moon or stars, it’s heavily clouded. No ambient light outside from the house either, can’t see your hand in front of your face. I opened the garage door to get to the car and the light from the garage illuminated the gray cat out about 30 feet from the house…playing with a freshly caught mouse.
It amazes me how cats can hunt in grass in total darkness, this mouse wasn’t a fat rat, it was a smallfield mouse. he let it go, it was starting to rain and she wanted to come inside where it was dry, she had food and a warm chair to park in. Somewhere out in the field there’s a mouse out changing his mouse undies and thanking his lucky star that he ran into a cat that preferred processed to organic food.

Good day, WeeWeed! Kerry…what a pathetic fake of a human being, first lying about our troops in Vietnam and faking at least one of his Purple Hearts, and now going about the world dissing America for our totally correct stand on the fakery of man-caused global warming, plus working with our enemies in Iran. I’m glad that one of my first votes for a Republican President was against him!

Good Morning….We have had four days of continuous snow here, however, this morning the snow has stopped, the sun is brightly shining and the forecast appears to be in the 30s and 40s over the next week. Autumn…..such a glorious season :0)
I’m gonna have to go out and shovel the front stoop and the driveway and I don’t function well when it’s cold…….Maybe, I’ll just have another cup of coffee and wait awhile. :0)

You may hear about it on the national news – bad day in New Orleans: 15 shootings in less that 24 hours, in about 15 hours really.
10 shootings were at a McDonalds downtown that has a long record of violence. It’s on Canal right where most people exit the Quarter, where thugses and drunks congregate. City’s not saying much about it but one brave soul said people who were up in the wee morning hours celebrating the last hours of the Bayou Classic weekend were involved. 10 people hit with gunfire.
Four were hit later this afternoon at a place close to a restaurant we were considering going to – we went in for some ‘down’ time. I’d decided it would be best to go to another spot as I was worried being in the area around sundown. Probably a good thing we decided on a huge muffuletta instead.
Third was further upriver in town and rounded out the afternoon. All seemed to involve AA residents. Residential shooting neighbors were all screaming about the police need to do something but, as usual, on a small street with closely built houses, nobody saw nothing.
Were it not for the Bayou Classic-related shooting the 5 shootings might have made some blurb but that 10 really set the bells ringing. The McDonalds it was at is right downtown, next to a major hotel and museum, but that Quarter exit and the strange attraction it has for thugs has made it a problem for a long time. When I was working the area and we went to grab a quick bite we would not go there alone at night and one if not both – or more – of us would be on alert scanning the store…ditto outside. It’ll be a long time before this one’s forgotten.
