I remember the first time my mother and I saw one of those balers which make a roll of hay then open up and lay it on the ground! We were in Wyoming watching my uncle work. My mother said it was like the baler laid an egg. I think of that eveery time I see a rolled bale.

I’m still fascinated by the machines the entire process. The mowers cut it, then you have attachments that spin the dried hay into rows and the balers come by either turning the hay into the big round feeder bales or the older square bales – all neatly tied up. Then there’s the big bale spear either on the front or back of the tractot – or both on the really big ones – that impales the roll and carries it off.

Some of the ranches have large circular feeder bins out in the fields that take a standard-size roll of hay making feeding that much more of a neater and convenient process. No wonder this greedy and evil country feeds so much of the rest of the world.

My grandfather was born in 1881 on a farm in Kansas. He wrote a book for his family about his family and life from pioneer times through the early sixties and seeing a man on the moon. What a lifepan in what a time frame!

Anyhow, I was always fascinated by his tales of the early, first days of mechanized farming and the challenges presented, such as no parts and no one who had a clue how to fix the newfangled machines when they broke down. According to my grandfather, one of his older brothers, who had a rare gift for fixing any and all things, was in great demand because he almost always somehow got the things to run or found a way to make a part if there wasn’t one to be had.

And I have no idea why, as a very young girl reading the book for the first (of many) times I would be fascinated by that. I wouldn’t say I am mechanically inclined, but I do like science, and I can understand pretty much all the stuff my husband explains about engines and electricity and other stuff, and I used to sell everything from lumber to plumbing (even the stuff like valves and pumps) and millwork, and I can picture THE house or building from blueprints. So, maybe a foretaste of later things that would interest me.

I lived on a farm when I was very young and after we moved back into the ‘city’ we’d go back to visit. The family who owned it had bought it in the mid-1800s and the then onbers were no spring chickens. They had a mix of machinery and equipment that went back from for-the-times modern to early 1900s horse-drawn.

They were Polish, he was then I guess, in his 60s, tall and skinny. His wife was shorter, fluffy and strong as an ox. I distinctly remember her, wearing an ankle length floral work dress, big rubber boots, a babushka and an apron, going out to the barn and calling the cows in. They march in to the barn, each to its own feed trough, put their heads thru the stalls and munched away while we all milked.

It wasn’t a big operation, only about 40 cows, so a lot of stuff was done by hand. They had a horse-pulled scraper to clean out the manure, that’d end up in a huge underground pit, and shovels/squeegees to finish up. There was an old shed, rather large, where they’d take the various farm equipment to repair it…a constant issue I didn’t appreciate until we got this.

I get the distinct feeling that there’s no interest in our progeny for any life outside of the city, no farmers or ranchers in the future, their food will just magically appear out of restaurants and grocery stores. If they want a rural experience they can book a vavay at a dude ranch or just stream episodes of Green Acres.

I had an uncle who could build or fix anything, and he never graduated from high school. My mother said that he built them some kind of motorized car that they rode on, and a playhouse.

And, then there I was. I asked my husband to explain how the TV worked and he started with protons, and nutrons and wiring, blah, blah, blah and I stopped him and said all I wanted to know was where is the knob to turn it on.

I think this is a travesty of justice. And, I don’t like it that the judge is keeping him under the gag order.

I am also disturbed by all the gag orders I read about lately. It’s like they are stifling the just outcry about activist “justice” dispensed by the courts now.

Justice has been a joke for a long time. You want entertainment? Go sit in a criminal court on a regular day – not a high profile case, just a regular day, that’ll fill your comedy needs for the day. It makes Fox reality shows look real in comparison.

We actually had to do that for most of a day, back in time the eighties. It was an eye opening experience on many levels, for us and for our oldest son, the victim of a crime we insisted on prosecuting. I still remember the attorney in the DA’s office telling me that if the thug had killed my son he would only get 14 months prison time IF he was convicted.

Said thug elbowed his way into the courtroom and sat across from me, glaring and trying to look intimidating. My husband pushed us out of the way and followed thug, intimidated back, out to the hall where I arrived in time to hear my husband tell him he thought he’d gotten ahold of just another yuppie family scared of their own shadows, but unfortunately for thug, he wound up with a man from the backwoods who could gig him and bury him where no one would ever look for a body. Thug slunk away, and that was about the only justice we got.

But the people there, the stories, the ignorance. The sheer ignorance or the excuses, the actions. And I haven’t even started on the judges and attorneys…

Actually, that day, only the defendants and witnesses were morons.

I’m kinda excited about laundry too. I had to take ours to my son’ son house daily for so long that it is actually a pleasure to do a load now. I’m sure the pleasure will be short lived but for now I’m enjoying it.

The little things are big things right now, having a new home. We sure are enjoying it, even though there is a lot more work to do.

I’m weird, I enjoy laundry. Even though we hang it out – distance from the house to the line’s longer than out backyard in NOLA – it’s fresh smelling and just…cleanerer.

Clothes outta the drier just ain’t the same.

WOW! Pompous Blowhard and Fired Ambassador Yovanovitch Compares Herself to US Hostages in Tehran and The Benghazi Four! (VIDEO)
November 15, 2019 by Jim Hoft

Fired Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch testified on Friday before the Adam Schiff show trial. Yovanovitch made it through auditions in the basement star chamber and Democrats are hoping she can revive their failed narrative that President Trump committed quid-pro-quo, extortion, bribery in his July phone call with the Ukrainian president.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
