    Haven’t a clue what he’s saying…I remember virtually nothing from my French class since I never used it again and he speaks fast…but I’d be game to listen if Fredric were talking to me personally…yes, yes, I would listen closely….

      We tried but our knowledge of French is basically limited to: “Laisse tomber ton arme” and “Levez vos mains”. Our families never really had to learn much more to go there.

      My name is misspelled…LOL!!…that’s what happens when you use only one hand when typing and don’t proofread.

      I injured my upper left arm just TAKING OFF MY CARDIGAN! The entire bicep muscles felt like they’d ripped from whatever they are attached to. It’s happened before and I went to the doctor and had tests SO TOTALLY PAINFUL to find out what went wrong, I’m not going to endure that again. Instead this time I immediately slapped on some Voltaren which has alleviated the pain somewhat but the arm still is not much usable. Bummer!

        Tried CBD oil? I sorta balked at it but tried it and it takes about 80% of my arthritis and back pain away. I just squirt the stuff into my mouth – sorta tastes like a Smoothies made from scrapings from the bottom of your lawnmower – but you can wash it down.

        Lucille, I suspect you may have ruptured the tendon of the long head of the biceps muscle. It is a common injury in older people and not one that is surgically repaired in most cases. It will result in massive bruising of the upper arm which may take 3-5 days to appear. X-rays won’t show anything. It is diagnosed by observing a so-called “Popeye deformity”: when you hold that arm up with elbow at shoulder level and “make a muscle” (as a 5-year-old boy will proudly do), the biceps muscle will stay flat up near the shoulder and bulge impressively closer to the elbow (looking like our favorite cartoon sailor). Pain may or may not be a big component. It will heal in 6-8 weeks and will result in only a mild impairment of strength in that arm. Tylenol and/or Motrin (or similar) are usually all that is needed for pain. Cold packing can help also. Good luck with it!

          Thanks so much, Tundra. The info is reassuring. I’ve been taking Advil but it tends to upset my stomach; so I only take 1 every 6 hours.

          A number of years ago I had frozen shoulder in that same arm and the doc gave me a cortisone shot. Within a day the shoulder was OK and the gosh-awful pain was gone. I’d never experienced such a quick relief.

            Cortisone is a magic wand for some problems; unfortunately it won’t help a ruptured tendon (if that is, in fact, what you’ve done). Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) is a good pain reliever, but very harsh on some people’s stomachs. Helps to eat some dairy (if you tolerate it) beforehand, like cottage cheese or a glass of milk. If dairy is out for you, any solid food should help, you just want to keep the pill fragments away from the stomach lining until they pass out of the stomach. If that doesn’t do it, then switch to Tylenol. Full strength dose of Tylenol is 1,000 mg (2 extra strength tablets) every 6 hours, but no more. That’s assuming no liver issues or daily alcohol consumption. And it’s ok to take both ibuprofen and Tylenol (acetaminophen). I hope this gets better quickly for you.

        My thought is that President Trump knows who the enemy is and I doubt that he is going to overplay his hand. A million moving pieces are coming into place.

        Epstein is gone, Ed Buck has been arrested, Comey was fired, Hillary is a crazy drunk ass has-been, Bill looks like he is dying from Aids, the Obamas seem rather subdued, Brennan makes demonstrably maniacal statements almost on a daily basis, Hollywood/Pervertville is imploding, that unholy Ocasio/Talib/Omar squad is the face of the Democrats, Pelosi is an inarticulate maniac, and so on and so on.

        Once they all stop covering for each other, once they realize that that President Trump isn’t saber rattling all hell is going to break loose and it is going to make the days of coliseum gladiators look like a kindergarten ruckus.

    AS coupla days back I ventured into terra incognita with a musing on CTH regarding what’s going on in the Gulf with Iran.

    The Obama-loving MSM has posted a number of articles on how people from Obama’s administration are still conducting talks with Iranian officials…unofficial talks with the officials. There’s no definite connection between these ex-staffers and Obamas as to make that connection would be problematic so the reference to ‘ex’ Obama staffers making talkie-talkie with Iranian officials is credited to him without any splashback.

    Might the POtuS be encouraging or even suggesting the Iranian attacks to hurt Trump, having the Obama proxies pushing the limits to either make Trump jump into a war that would potentially be a disaster or make him back down and look impotent in foreign Mohammedan eyes? It meets the scummy, diabolical needs of both and helps salve the base pique of the Mullahs and our ‘mullah-lite’.

    There’s little doubt that Iran’s behind this,the Hezbollah just tweeted a pic of Hez’s latest antiship missile. It has Hez’s logo stenciled on the side and is clearly an Iranian C-802 ASM. You don’t get those at an unregulated NRA gun show. BTW, Saudis have just released a picture of the remains of an Iranian cruise missile recovered from the site of the refinery attack. https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2019/09/18/saudi-arabia-says-iran-missiles-drones-attacked-oil-sites/

    Interesting to me is that after my longish post the only reply I received was from someone who said there was no proof that Iran had any involvement in the attack and my ‘mullahs to IRG to Hezbollah to Houthi’ train was basically unsubstantiated hearsay. My reply to him was that my 30+ years of experience in the field sorta leads me in that direction…so far no reply.

    It’s just too coincidental that Obama rails about his Iranian surrender deal being axed, goes dead quiet for months, stories break about his ex-staffers having discussions with Iranian leaders then all of this starts up.

        Sorry, I don’t remember your questioning me but I’ve been shot at so many times by Treehousers over the years I’ve lost sight of the Treehousers for the forest.

        I was waiting for the Saudi and US analysis as to which ordnance was used and I’d do my own fans but they released the whole megillah and done did the work for me.

        years ago we did launch fans for their missiles’ abilities to strike Europe to find potential launch sites and I’m sure the Saudis have done no less. Also, those satellites eyeballing Iran must have data, question is how much of what they have is releasable.

        News is saying Trump, along with Europe, is looking for a diplomatic instead of a military approach, more than likely signaling Trump’s talked to them and they’re chickening out on anything more than a French approach; Iran wins this one but not as big as had we have moved. Thank Trump for dumping Bolton.

        Wild card here is how the Saudis will react. The Houthis have just said they’ll attack the UAE with ‘their’ long range missiles, the same UAE the Iranians attacked over the last few months.
        This ain’t over yet.

          My question was why enlisteds had to be escorted by Egyptian soldiers while offbase in Egypt. You explained, and I learned to lurk better and read more, like what you just wrote above, things I never knew and would never have known.
          Word is this new guy O’Brien is more diplomacy and less trigger-finger than Bolton, but yes, the Persians are no doubt far from finished.

            Ahhhh…still don’t remember but then half the time I don’t know where my car keys are.

            I think folks finally convinced Trump that Bolton was sort of a lower tier Dick Cheney whose advice was dangerous. Iran’s not going to back down, it’s trying to push the US and end up with a war to secure the holy cities and destroy Israel. If Iran attacks Israel and you know Israel’s going to attack to destroy Iran then watch the whole area go up.

      I do not get how this is even possible. There are measures and laws in place, courses of actions to prove tax fraud. First is series of correspondence by IRS, then audits, then declarations, then tax mediation, then, then, then, demand for unpaid taxes, and then fines and such if found guilty of deliberately defrauding. If no cooperate along the way, jail time and seizure of property. But to have a court of some sort bypass all the steps to look for something?.. do not get.

      California tried to say that Trump couldn’t get on the ballot there unless he released his taxes. A Federal court judge blocked the move as he said the Federal government establishes eligibility for a Federal election and not the state. California will appeal.

      Colt pared back on that a while ago. Colt and other name brand companies just can’t compete with the generic manufacturers, and there are many. There are only a few that make the receivers but they’re cheap and they bulk sell to manufacturers who crank ’em out. I see them selling for around $350 now, they’re that plentiful.

        Also, Colts are very expensive AND require special parts. To make sure government parts couldn’t be used in the fire control group larger than standard trigger and hammer pins were used meaning that any replacements had to be bought from Colt, couldn’t use regular parts. Folks didn’t like that.

    Annnnnd the problem becomes personal. The significant other of one of my sons used his truck ans got into an accident. Turns out the other driver was an…undocumented alien…who was driven off in a police car – no licence, no insurance, nada. Because of the age of the truck he only has liability but he uses it for work and now he’s flat out a truck.
