I considered becoming a professional gambler earlier this year. I had perfected the ability to lose each and every bet. I was sure with just a little more effort, I could figure out the winning thing too. However, I’m lazy and just gave up.

I so fiercely hate losing money that when Czar wants to go to a casino I limit myself to $25 and usually don’t even play that much. Also, after he gives me the stats on how the casino’s take is 90%, so I’m gua-ran-teed to lose, I can’t even enjoy giving ’em the few quarters. I am willing to do $1 on a single pull on the million dollar machine.

I’m like you. I figure $10 or $20 is okay for a fun night out, so I don’t mind losing that if I am having fun. But, I quit when it is gone. If I win any, I put it back until I have my original amt covered and then play until I lose the rest.

I once won $38 playing nickel poker. I told my busband I won a big pot and we had to leave. Do you know, he disagreed with my definition of a big pot? Been a family joke ever since.

I’d have to look it up for the when and where, but as I recall at no time did anyone believe the earth was flat. It was a mocking attack on Christianity during the age of enlightenment. More specifically a verse in the bible having to do with viewing everything on earth at the same time. The earth would have to be flat for that to be possible. Therefore if you were a Christian you must believe the world is flat.

My mother would say the earth was flat to challenge us kids to justify its orb-ness to her. When the first photo of earth from the moon was published, she said, “See, I told you it was flat!” When my brother and I started telling her what we learned aboutpeople being descended from a common ape-like ancestor, she said, “Maybe you and your brother are descended from monkeys, but I am not!” Made us laugh when we finally figured out what she was saying….

There’s always the ‘white bean extract’ carb blocker. I use that when guilty pleasures call my name from the dark corners of the pĆ¢tisserie. My blood sugar measurements show it worksforn me as does a meal with white beans that has too much (if there is such a thing) real French bread.
It won’t be much of a help if you dive face first into a tray of fruit tarts but it does serve as an indulgence for lesser lapses of judgement.

My friend’s cat used to drink out of her tea glass. It loved tea. It wouldn’t drink out of her glass if it was just water.

This is a hydrobike. Easy to ride, extremely stable so apparently you can’t tip it over even if you try. Costs about $2300 but rentals are available. We could go to San Diego and take a ride instead of sitting on Lucille’s bench!

1) ride the bike over to the bench area, park it,
2) sit on the bench for a while to enjoy a bit of monkey-watching,
3) ride over to the other side of the bay to a fine dining spot for the evening,
4) pay someone to hydrobike you back to your villa…
