Stella's Place 
I spent soooooo many years attached to a Navy intel unit as they had the closest SCIF I needed to work in – ended up being their SSO. That bridled a few folks, especially junior officers, but I was DIA trained and DCI certified and no one else would work long and hard hours with the civilian SSO to ensure the regular DIA SCIF certification inspections were passed and that all of those nagging little housework details handling and processing classified information (are you listening, Hillary?) were accomplished.
I’d get my details from my commands in Colorado or wherever on the classified net and did my work there, also worked with the Navy crews on NEO/NISH missions and the 4th MAW on their missions. In all I was in other-than-Army-controlled units from 1990 thru retirement in 2007. The best was being in a joint command that was hosted by the Air Force, more like being in a resort than the military.
I enjoyed my time with the Navy and were it not for: (A) my preference to go to war with a service which, were it all to go south, I’d have a better chance of walking home with and (B) the deeply held belief that there’s no way I could go thru the day in a white uniform, I might have switched.

Being that I was in main propulsion, I think whites were only worn to drink in public during summer months.

Czar, had to qualify day/night carrier landings, helicopters, daylight was okay, nighttime scared the …….out of me. Oh forgot to mention the 150 miles of flying course/navigating over open water with Nods on……..and Navy helicopters have a stabilization system.

Our guys hated wearing them, some of the COs would make them wear them during the summer as we were in an office environment. I noticed more than a few would skip a lot of food possibilities when they were wearing them.
Th joint commands run by the AF were pretty loose on what to wear for work. The Navy unit I was with just let me wear the BDUs as I was attached but not assigned but if they were having an ‘event’ I’d wear the Army uniform appropriate to what they were wearing as I had no desire to appear not ion step with the operations.

We sent to a Mickey D’s today – GGS still can’t get the monkey off his back and I don’t find their Southwest Salad totally objectionable,
They’ve just opened it after extensive remodeling and what I’ve noticed other than the new equipment having bugs that need to be worked out, is the decreased number of personnel, automation’s taking over. There’s a national pizza chin that’s spearheaded replacing food prep personnel with automation, all driven by the political moves to boost the minimum wage. We have those traditional jobs that students and folks looking to pick up a bit of extra cash were filling now are history. Democrats still don’t understand ‘unintended consequences’ or what business is.

I keep on going back to Johnny Rivers’ song ‘The Snake’. Can’t wait for that fulminating mass of disparate, ill-educated whiners they’ve brought in to upset the apple cart. Thry’re hoping to leash and bridle them to use as pawns and drive their agenda but as sure as the sun comes up in the East those little corrosive toads will eat their benefactors here as they have in whatever sh*thole country they slithered out of.

I’m jes chatty t’night.
We had a grape-size tumor taken off of BD’s hind leg, Vet says she’ll be fine but he gave us some pain meds she needs. I recognized the med, it’s a slightly weaker version of the one Daisy gets. I cut the daily dose into two parts, one half a tab every 12 hours, and that was a good idea – BD takes one and she’s zombie for eight hours at least. I also have some really powerful compounded arthritis cream my doc prescribed and it kills the pain on her incision within minutes and lasts for about six hours. Between the pill zonking her out and the cream numbing any pain she should be back to her water moccasin hunting self in a week.

She’s doing OK, she’s a tough dog. She’s the one who took on the hog and got cut up (still wears the scars) and she has been bitten 3 times by water moccasins (her favorite chew toy).

Lots of people have bad stories about mocs around here, mocs are aggressive. Man who sold us the property had a son who was bitten, lived but had health problems for years then was taken by a deadly heart attack atributed to the damage done. One made it all the way to the back porch, ~100′ from the lake. Now I’m careful to look before I step out.

Charlie Daniels will be awesome!
We had a beautiful day yesterday after the morning rain. It was in the low 80’s and sunny. I went to a wedding reception at Miller Park, my friend rented a section and we could sit anywhere within the section, food, drinks and cookies š . It was the perfect day for a ballgame, I was so happy for her. Of course the Brewers got trounced but that didn’t dampen the spirit of the day š !

A rare sight will be visible in the sky above the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport near Latrobe on Sunday afternoon ā a flyover by a 159-feet-long B-52 Stratofortress.
The flyover, as part of the aerial performances at the Shop āN Save Westmoreland County Airshow, is scheduled for 12:55 p.m., according to Dwayne Pickels, grants director for the Westmoreland County Airport Authority, which organizes the air show. The B-52 Stratofortess is set to make three passes over the airport.
The bomber will be impossible to miss in the sky because it has wingspan of 185 feet and weighs 185,000 pounds ā 94 tons ā without a payload of bombs. It is flying out of Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.

A Utah judge has been suspended for six months without pay after he made a series of critical statements about President Donald Trump online and in his courtroom over the past few years.
The Utah Supreme Court filed its court ruling this past week on Judge Michael Kwanās actions.
Kwan, who has served as a justice court judge in Taylorsville for 20 years, was cited for āimproper use of judicial authority and his inappropriate political commentary,ā the latter often involving President Trump.
