Beautiful! Childhood friends, teenage friends…a few I’m still in touch with… And secondhand stores…how we loved them…finding books and clothes and toys and my favorites–National Geographics from the 20s and 30s, a number of which are still in my library.

I’m still best friends with my best friend from high school, and I’m very close with my best childhood friends, my cousins.
Second hand stores are such fun 🙂 . My best friend from high school wouldn’t go in them when we first met, she was afraid that someone would see her. Funny world. I like stopping at garage sales, people are always nice and it is fun to find treasures in things that people are done with .
I did have to put a moratorium on my buying lamps 🙂 !

I’ve got a moratorium on everything! After I filled a 20 foot U-Haul truck full of furniture, and household items headed for a charity sale–with enough left over to furnish my 700 sq.ft. apartment–adding anything new or new-to-me is sorta ridiculous…not that I haven’t done it…LOL! And I’m still sorting things every once in a while to give to a local animal rescue thrift shop. LIFE!

Note how hard the progs are fighting the ‘are you here legally’ question on the 2020 census. Excuse is that the question’s needed for Voting Rights Act compliance, but really? Since when are the voting rights of people here illegally protected???
What I do see is the lack of that question allowing more legals to be counted when it comes to creating seats in the House. One Rat strategy is to promise illegals protection from the law, selective enforcement of the law being a Rat hallmark, so the illegal voters vote Rat. The non-sanctuary city, really is a sanctuary city, New Orleans was protecting illegals well before Katrina and continues to do so. A smart cookie just might want to set up a tapas y cerveza truck outside City Hall for early voting where checking ID is…less strict.

Excuse is that the question’s needed for Voting Rights Act compliance…
Doesn’t hold any water at all, since they still ask the question on the annual American Community Survey. The question proposed for the 2020 census has exactly the same wording.
A citizenship question has been on the census since 1890, and was only removed from the census and added to the ACS in 2010. Hardly a precedent for keeping it off the 2020 census!

Morning czarina. Last week was the one year anniversary of the day that I moved into my ‘take a chance’ bank and although it has not been the easiest year I have ever encountered, I would ‘take the chance’ again in a heartbeat.
Contractors are scheduled to return next month and the renovation journey continues.

Story told on FB by Richard Fernandez (PJ Media). He was born in the Philipines, and this is his mother’s personal story about the Allied invasion in WWII.
The family “God Bless America” story.
Mom lived a short distance from the Sto Tomas internment camp. On Feb 3 1945 a 20 something Japanese Army Catholic chaplain, who’d befriended the family came to the house and left a bolt of striped silk cloth. He had been saving it for his mother. He told grandma. “I won’t be seeing her again, please take it.”
He joined the troops withdrawing across the Pasig River. They never saw him again. Grandpa told me they were withdrawing the whole day and rumor was rife that the First Cavalry was only a few hours away.
Dusk fell. Nothing moved in the silent streets but the occasional steel shod Japanese boot of stay behind snipers looking for a position. Then a tremendous series of explosions lit up the sky. They were the bridges on the Pasig being blown. For what seemed like a long time there was an eerie silence.
Then there was the peculiar high pitched whine of a Willys jeep, which no one who knows it will ever forget, closely followed by the rumble of what we now know were the lead Shermans of the First Cav.
Then mom said they heard the sound of the steel gates being rammed down followed by the sound of the inmates singing “God Bless America”. Doubtless it has been sung better and more meliflously but rarely as dramatically and unforgettably as on that night.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report mentions a claim that Russians recorded President Bill Clinton having phone sex with White House intern Monica Lewinsky — but the reference was redacted from the version released to the public.
The redaction is likely to anger Republicans, because the allegation has been known since at least 2001 and the Mueller report’s reference to a claim that President Trump watched prostitutes urinating in a Moscow hotel room was not struck out.
Clinton allegedly was recorded by Russia in the 1990s, allowing Russia to learn of the affair before American officials. A reference to the Clinton intercept was redacted from the Mueller report to protect “personal privacy,” but sources told the Washington Examiner that the context makes clear what was blacked out…
At a meeting in New York, Simes told Kushner the details: Russia allegedly recorded President Clinton on the phone with Lewinsky, opening questions of foreign leverage over the ex-president-turned-potential first spouse.
“During the August 17 meeting, Simes provided Kushner the Clinton-related information that he had promised. Simes told Kushner that, [redacted],” the Mueller report says. “Simes claimed that he had received this information from former CIA and Reagan White House official Fritz Ermarth, who claimed to have learned it from U.S. intelligence sources, not from Russians.”

I’m betting the ‘tap’, more likely an intercept, of Clinton having phone sex was done by the Russian SIGINT intercept facility at Lourdes, Cuba. Lourdes. Clinton and everyone else in the government conducting sensitive business was warned about using nonencrypted phones for doing such as Lourdes vacuumed up phone calls all over the DC/Beltway area regardless of if they were cellular or hardline. Once they’d opinned your name to a number that number was targeted from the mass of comms data they collected.
I’ve mentioned before how all of the Clintons had such a cavalier attitude towards securing sensitive or classified data, couldn’t be bothered, and you can see how that carried over to Hillary. God only knows how much of America’s secrets were compromised during their tenures in DC, their primary interests were in filling their pockets and wreaking vengeance on anyone they thought slighted or prevented them from furthering their kleptarchy.

Apparently things move quicker in Sri Lanka than here, they’ve released a copy of the video of the inside of one of the churches that was bombed. It appears to be a camera placed high above at the right, rear of the nave. You can clearly see the bomber with his bomb-laden backpack walking outside of the church from the rear of the courtyard to the front and entering midway in the church. Mercifully they don’t show the actual detonation.

That is good news.
I was just reading a sad story in one of the little towns near me that a 9 year old was starved, beaten, not allowed to use the bathroom, they forced her to wear a diaper and only gave her two diapers a day and then cuffed her ankles to a pack and play at night. It was her biological uncle, his wife and her daughter doing this to her. She somehow got out and when cops were called told them it was her father, mother and sister who had did this to her. I don’t know how people can be so cruel. After reading about that, I needed something not so gloomy.

You can’t help but wonder, “did I drive by that house while that little girl was being locked up?” Then you really don’t want to think people that cruel you could have spoken to or smiled at in the grocery store.
