    OK, I could live here (Brickell Bay, Miami condos)…I would, however, put up off-white drapes…of course there might be a condo rule against them, believing such protection from prying eyes would ruin the modern look….

    I’m still amazed at how businesses work out here in the sticks.

    We called out propane delivery company last week, we wanted one of our propane tanks filled and the other topped off, it wasn’t vital it was just convenience. One tank was empty and the other about 60% full so we’re talking about 300 gallons of propane, not a small amount. Our normal delivery day is Friday, the company’s smallish, based about 40 miles south and delivery’s on Friday in our area – though if it’s an emergency they’ll fit you in with no extra charge.

    Well this Friday’s a holiday so they’re working overtime to get everyone scheduled who would have been left out. In the city it’s usually ‘sorry, too bad, it’s a holiday’, here they’re busting butt to get the Friday folks – and we’re scattered remember – all done too. And that ain’t the most surprising part, the office manager calls about 15 minutes after the driver fills the tanks and asks ‘iof it’s OK to run our credit card today as the delivery was scheduled for Friday?’. Lotta folks out here who live check-to-check and they schedule propane deliveries when they have room on their credit cards. So here I am, with some 300 gallons of their propane in my tanks and they’re calling to see if it’s OK to run my card 45 days ahead of my scheduled delivery. Is it only me who’s surprised at how business is done out here?
