More proof that even those who are ultra left liberal, are “better than you” because they use their money to put their kids ahead of yours.
Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin were among more than four dozen people charged in a nationwide college admissions cheating scandal that involved wealthy individuals paying up to $6.5 million to place their children into elite universities, according to court records revealed Tuesday.
The alleged scam — which involved students being placed into top colleges such as Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, University of Southern California, UCLA and the University of Texas — was run by a man in California, William Rick Singer, who helped parents get their children into the schools through bribes, court documents unsealed in Boston showed.
Singer, who authorities said will plead guilty to racketeering, ran the charity, Key Worldwide Foundation, which received $25 million in total to guarantee the admissions, U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said during a Tuesday news conference.
Most of the students did not know their admission to the school was due to a bribe, authorities said.
When did San Diego St and the University of Texas become “Elite”? I’m not demeaning them in any way. I just don’t think of them like Stanford/Harvard/Yale. Although these schools are/have become mostly reputation I agree with Dershowitz on Fox News when he talked about the lower standards now. Apparently “everybody gets a trophy” has been replaced with everybody gets a degree. Oh well lefty elites and snobby schools are getting some just rewards.

That isn’t really the point. The point is that people broke the law in order to get their kids into certain schools, or certain athletic programs. Their choices of schools aren’t important.

How long before we hear “Well Whatsits did it too!” which will make it all ok.
Legal smeegal, we don’t need no stinkin’ laws. Laws are meant for the liddle people.
Hope they have the book thrown at them, and fined up the ying-yang (pardon the language).
And that goes double for the schools involved, who already rip us off through all the freebies and grants they receive.

Hmmm…how much are ghostwriters going for now?

But…but…but…the laws meant to control the common herd aren’t supposed to apply to the elite! Time for them to get a deferral from prosecution as they report to a celeb rehab center for treatment for overuse of privilege. Three months at the spa and – poof – cured with no time served, talk show visits and a book deal.

Then they worked it where it looked like a donation so they could take it off their taxes.

When you consider that the parents are most likely sending Jr to school to get his/her ticket punched San Diego State, U of T or even Butt**** U is jes fine. If you look at the trail of Hollyork kiddies you do not see too many Rhodes Scholars or Nobel Prize winners in the lot, more like LSU party dogs. Even the acting courses at the Ivy League schools are probably too hard for them, they couldn’t pass lunch.
