Good day, Menagerie! Yes, I know what you mean. Love that show…Jules Hudson is my fav host. He has such an interesting speech cadence.
It’s funny how so much of the time people don’t put in offers on any of the houses, and I’m saying to the screen, “Buy #3!!!” I love looking at how the various home owners decorate their homes. Some haven’t a clue how to decorate their homes to bring out the best features, either style or colorwise. LOL! One type of home I could never live in is a converted chapel or church…just something about it seems sacrilegious.
Oh, and speaking of churches, I occasionally watch the YouTube channel called Bros Of Decay where two brothers visit abandoned buildings around Belgium where they live, or surrounding countries…
Abandoned Church In France – Found The Priests Cope
Bros Of Decay
Though the church is basically abandoned, it looks like someone comes into clean as best they can and put flowers out (couldn’t tell if they are real or faux).

10 Reasons today is a good day 😊
1) Hillary Clinton is not president.
2) Donald Trump is President.
3) We are surrounded by beauty.
Theophila “Offy” Palmer by Reynolds.
4) This one is personal but….the storm missed us!
5) God is good.
”And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”1 Corinthians 13:13
6) We have the relentless and very relatable Scott Pressler advocating every day for America and our president.
I’m on a mission.
I will talk to the janitor, the business owner, & even the drunk kid at the club.
I will talk to anyone & do whatever it takes to wake people up that the democrat party is selling out our country.
Americans deserve jobs, Americans come first! __Scott Pressler
7) We have Stella’s Place. (Hat tip to Stella 🙂 ❤️ ) .
8) There is this;
Associate Justice Neil M. Gorsuch 51 Trump Appointment. Conservative Constitutionalist
Associate Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh 53 Trump Appointment. Conservative Constitutionalist
Associate Justice Elena Kagan 58 Obama Appointment. Garbage Liberal Activist
Chief Justice John G. Roberts 63 Bush Appointment. Part of the Bush Dynasty, puppet, squishy. Compromised? Trump hater. But in a pinch he is mostly going to vote with the Constitutionalist block. Obama Care aside.
Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor 64 Obama Appointment. Garbage Liberal Activist
Associate Justice Samuel A. Alito is 68 Bush Appointment. Constitutionalist
Associate Justice Clarence Thomas 70 years old. Bush Appointment. Conservative Constitutionalist
Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer is 80 years old. Clinton Appointment. Garbage Liberal Activist
Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 85 years old. Clinton Appointment. Rabid Liberal Activist on death’s door.
9) Rep. Dan Crenshaw (Who keeps his K-Bar knife, that he received at his SEAL training graduation, on his desk in DC -Front and Center-) tweeted I cannot in good conscience get paid while federal employees’ financial futures hang in the balance because of this partial government shutdown. I’ve asked the Chief Administrative Officer to withhold my pay until we have come to an agreement to adequately fund border security. Putting the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez segment of the DC Freshmen Socialists to shame.
10) Everyday there is a headline somewhere that reads “Trump rages about x. y or z” this encourages readers to go read President Trump’s Twitter feed where he continues to make a very sound mature case for the wall and a very sound and serious case that most of the upper echelons in our government were/are corrupt and that the MSM is simply a Clinton/Obama politicized arm of the democratic party.
The MSM is unwittingly encouraging people to read the truth.
23% of Federal inmates are illegal immigrants. Border arrests are up 240%. In the Great State of Texas, between 2011 & 2018, there were a total of 292,000 crimes by illegal aliens, 539 murders, 32,000 assaults, 3,426 sexual assaults and 3000 weapons charges. Democrats come back!__President Trump

And we have Pelosi doddering on about opening the government and the Rats promising to explore new technology to secure the border if Trump opens the government. Begs the questions of why they haven’t done this previously and why she thinks anyone would believe her BS lies for one New York second? You know good and well that once the government’s open that research program would get funded and worked on right next to the Congressional ‘converting lead to gold’ program.

Love that Crenshaw displays his KA-BAR! What character! When you think of the goofy/ignorant haters in the new Dem House class, what an incredible contrast!
Check out this history of the knife vid…”The KA-BAR Legacy”
Another photo featuring a KA-BAR…at the second battle of Fallujah, imbedded freelance combat photographer Lucian Read took this iconic photo…
…1st Sgt. Bradley Kasal is seen carrying his 9mm Beretta in his right hand and his KA-BAR in his left. Asked later why he was so-armed despite severe injuries, he merely indicated that someone needed to protect the men who had to carry him out. Btw, he lost 60% of his blood that day.

My ex-FIL had a Randall Model 1 in WWII and I had mine but post-Vietnam. In all the K-Bar worked fine, it does what a knife had to do but at a lesser price than the Randall which also has a nearly year-long wait time to get it after you order it.
My Gerber Mk 1 is one of the 1st run, 5-degree offset on the blade and a rumored penchant for being too brittle. Never thought of using it except as a backup boot knife as for a combat knife it had a fatal flaw – the polished steel blade could be used to signal satellites.
We used to say that you use your combat knife 99.5% of the time for non-combat uses and the other .05% of the time you used it to cut yourself.

Kasal retired just last year from being the Sergeant Major of the I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Camp Pendleton, CA.
His injuries in 2004 were so extensive to the body and legs that they wanted to amputate his right leg but he wouldn’t give permission, telling the doctors they’d just have to find a way to save it. At that point the docs pretty much were in agreement that even if it was saved, he’d never walk again seeing as he lost 4 inches of the leg bone. Of course, he did. However, it was a grueling recovery.
It’s really a fascinating story which I followed almost from the beginning after the photo was released. He and one other Marine, Cpl. Mitchell, received Navy Crosses for the battle, which you can see was inside a house. I just love it when someone’s determination and fortitude proves everyone wrong.

How much at a serving is something you work out with your dog, so to speak. Daisy @ roughly 85 pounds takes 1/2 a can and that generally works though it’s something you want to do when you’re home with your dog, best not to leave the pup alone for the day. Start off on the low side as it can have negative side effects if they get too much.

She has already pooped. She isn’t acting weird at all and she ate twice (once yesterday and once this morning) since she ate the toilet paper, maybe it is closer to say that she ate only an 1/8th of a roll and I buy small “airy” rolls? I think she is fine.
Thank you Czar. Usually she eats about a 1/3 of a cup in the morning and 1/3 around 1 or 2. Tummy feels fine.
If I need to use the pumpkin I’d probably start with a table spoon as she is only 20 pounds. Right now as I said all seems well.
How is Daisy doing? I’ll be gone for most of the day but check in later.

Well you can duct tape a dozen flashing aircraft lights to the already obvious but when the agency committing the crimes is the investigative arm of the agency that would investigate the investigator…whatcha gonna do?
BTW, when you talk money trails ya got a problem – the CIA’s budget is heavily classified and is usually heavily hidden inside of the budgets of other agencies. The Company also owns numerous cover civilian businesses, many of whom have government contracts, that provide revenue streams, so you’re never going to get a complete accounting of where money comes from or goes to. One big advantage it has over the FBI.

So this is my last comment in the aviation series & will be (in general) my last comment for a while.
The Austrian engineer “Ignaz “Igo” Etrich of Bohemia designed a beautiful aircraft with a distinctive bird-like look called The Taube (German for “Dove”) which was made in 1910. A graceful monoplane, the Etrich Taube was a mass of wires & control cables. that provided aerodynamic control through wing warping. It was considered by many to be the most stylish design of its day compared with the lattice-work tail structure of other planes. This early observation aircraft was called by the French, “the Invisible Aircraft” because the translucence of the clear doped linen covering the Taube was almost invisible when above 12OO feet. It was the world’s first “stealth plane”! Like the Wright brothers & a large number of other aviation enthusiasts, Etrich, took his lead from Otto Lilienhal, (prior glider 1893 photos) & first experimented with gliding wings. In 1910, the manufacturing rights were acquired by Edmund Rumpler, who dropped the name of Etrich.
The Taube was the first German aircraft to fly over Paris. In 1913 they flew from Berlin to Paris, & then from Paris to London. The return journey went from London to Berlin via Calais, Antwerp, Nijmegan & Hannover. The flight became immortalized as the “Five Countries Flight”.
The Taube was the first military airplane mass produced in Germany, the first airplane used for dropping bombs, & the first German military aircraft to be used in larger scales. At the start of WW1 in 1914 Tauben were already in service with the air forces of Italy, Germany & Austro-Hungary as an observation & training aircraft, & were quickly used as a reconnaissance aircraft. The Taube was a stable aircraft with good flying characteristics, however, it was not highly maneuverable. Since it carried no armament other than crew members’ revolvers or rifles, it was of little front-line value. It remained in use as a trainer. It was one of the last WWI planes to use the wing warping method of control. I must admit I was disappointed that this beautiful plane that looked like a dove & gave people the freedom of flight was used for war.
For our 1st pic we have this beautiful 1913 Etrich Taube Aeroplane (Representation, not original)
Here is a painting of the Taube pilot having to use his sidearm because there was no weaponry on the Taube. I cannot read the artist’s signature.
Here is another plane and bird comparison, but a bit newer 😉
And for our last picture we have the flying machine drawings of the great Leonardo DaVinci.
Probably ever since early man 1st saw a bird fly, he wished he could fly too, and that has never changed.
See you all in a few weeks, take care everyone, and have a great day! 🙂
Info from: http://warrior481 dot blogspot dot com/2014_10_01_archive dot html where you can see close up photos of the only known flyable example of a Taube in North America at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Maine. Info also from http://www dot fiddlersgreen dot net/models/aircraft/Etrich-Taube dot html – that has actual old photos of Tauben.

Anyhow, even if they want to sell stuff, we just don’t have a lot of valuables. And there is the fact that I kept very little of my mother’s stuff, and indeed, sold most of it off in the South’s largest yard sale. So, I can’t get too excited about what they might do.

My daughter just started making her own kombucha, well, about 3 of months ago. Anyhow a friend gave her a SCOBY (one of which we ruined) so she gave her another one and things are going really well since the second scabby.
Something to be aware of which you may be already but you need to cover it with a 100% cotton towel (never cheesecloth) and a rubber band or get a kombucha specific crock. If you go the way of a crock make sure that it is lead free. If you go with a cheaper crock the fermentation process may eat away at the plastic/rubber that is part of the spigot and you may wake up to a rather ugly mess.
The biggest danger according to my friend is fruit flies if they get into the kombucha started it becomes toxic. Keep a fruitfully trap near by and never leave the kombucha itself uncovered.
No plastic containers.
Places like Whole Foods has empty recycled kombucha bottles that you can have for free 🙂 .
Also only refined sugar as any other sugar doesn’t allow it to ferment properly.
Sorry if you know all of this already but apparently people have gotten very sick from fruit flies getting into it.
Oh and if you get overrun with SCOBY my friend said she puts them in one spot in her garden and it is now a worm hot bed 🙂 ! (We had one form in our fruit fly trap!)
Afternoon Menagerie 🙂 !

Thanks lovely, no I didn’t know all that, especially about the cheesecloth. I’m going to check into a good crock, thanks.

The cheese cloth allows the fruit flies in, then of course they tell you if you get fruit flies you have to toss the kombucha, so …
I really knew absolutely nothing about until my friend taught my daughter. I’ll see if I can find the link for the crocks that my friend sent me. She may have sent it to my daughter though I’m not sure. The crocks are unfortunately pricey. $80. We bought a gallon mason jar and went the towel route to make sure my daughter was going to really stick with it.

I’m going to make a scoby hotel for a few spares in case I get fruit flies or have another scoby disaster. I almost killed my first one too. Started the fermentation when I had no heat. Not a good thing to do, but it wasn’t planned either.

Hauled the big dog into the tub, 90 pounds pof [passive resistance now giving me the stink eye from the new dog pillow Czarina just made her. Little beagle-terrier freaked out and hid, big wet dog ratted her out so she went too. 3rd dog can wait.

Happy Sunday! We are set for a weeks worth of rain and so far are having a decent socal winter. I still can go without a coat though!
I guess since newsom wants to provide “free” healthcare for illegals his method to partially pay for it is to start taxing drinking water. But its temporary they say, onky until they make water “safe” in certain areas. They will never run out of ideas for taxes.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

A prayer for Justice Kavanaugh and Col. Flynn:
Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
