CINO = Catholic in name only. Grrrr.. Someday in God’s time they will answer to Him. I really think of them as modern day Herods, lying that they care about God, when all they want to do is kill to gain power.
That website has some good info that is hard to find elsewhere.

Lifenews is terrific. A few days back they reported that over 90% of doctors in Ireland are refusing to obey the new abortion law. Ireland’s law forces ALL doctors to perform abortions. There is no conscience or religious clause; so they risk losing their jobs and/or be fined or worse. So much for the Hippocratic Oath.

Planned Parenthood has celebrated the new Irish law, of course, further confirming that they hate humanity regardless of how much they protest their love for women and want what’s best for female lives. How dearly they would love to have such a law in the U.S.

LifeNews also reported on Hillary and Cuomo promoting abortion up to birth in New York state. Cuomo is definitely a CINO. As for Hillary’s beliefs…!!!

WHOA ! Stella, I have no idea why people do ice climbing, but it is at their own risk. Some were complaining about how people could die climbing etc in the parks during shutdown. SMH, If you are so dumb to do something both unnecessary and dangerous when no one is there to help when you get yourself in trouble, it’s called The Darwin Awards.

Beautiful picture of the ice though. I found a pic like that online a while back, and carefully edited the climber out of it! Actually I’ve done with a couple of picturess…Hmmm…

That was BS, the park people have little to do with the climbers other than at times check their equipment and log in their presence.
Here’s the thing, outside of some select members of the Federal employees the definition of who’s immune to the layoff is determined by the agency , the exact numbers of those furloughed is all over the map. Those with arrest/weapons authority are immune though some security guards are laid off those agencies have internal security as ours did, the security guards manned the entrances but if they were laid off the main security teams took over. The janitors the whiners talk about are rare in most agencies as they’ve been replaced by private agencies, especially those employing the disabled. And those buildings belonging to private businesses leased by the Feds, an increasing and cost-effective practice, come with contracted support services.
Our agency did and still does the payroll for a majority of the non-DoD government. Most folks think each agency pays its own but nope, more cost-effective to have it centralized. We also swept up a number of other admin functions too, like personnel, health insurance and billing so we saw few layoffs though the supervisors played the scary ‘what to do if you’re laid off’ game as they were told to do.
This is, as it has been in the past, political theater. The players really couldn’t give a damn about the ones who get stepped on as their sufferings are all in the struggle for some higher purpose. After all, when the play’s over and the curtain falls everyone will be paid and it’s on to the next act.

    Morning Everyone!

Today’s aviation artist is Clayton Knight. Born: 1891, Rochester, NY, Died: 1969, Danbury, CT. Knight was a well-known aviation author & artist, & was the father of illustrator Hilary Knight. He was an American aviator during World War I, & is known for being one of the founders of the Clayton Knight Committee & the illustrator of the comic strip Ace Drummond.

Ace Drummond was an aviation comic strip scripted by Eddie Rickenbacker, the celebrated World War I aviator. It followed aviator Ace Drummond on his adventures around the world. From 1933 – 1939, Knight & Rickenbacker also did another comic strip, The Hall of Fame of the Air, depicting airplanes & air battles in a fact-based series about famous & little-known aviators. This strip was adapted into a Big Little Book, Hall of Fame of the Air. Many newspapers ran this comic as a ‘topper’ to Ace Drummond.

Knight & his wife were also illustrators of children’s books, & often collaborated. He wrote & illustrated a few ‘We Were There’ books, which were historical novels for children. He wrote & illustrated, We Were There…at the Normandy Invasion,…with the Lafayette Escadrille, and…at the Battle of Britain, the latter written with his wife.

Book covers & the art within the pages are an often overlooked art form. I love books, as many here do as well, so today’s images are of the artists book covers.
Our 1st pic is ‘Pilots Luck’ a book with a series of WW1 aviation drawings by Clayton Knight. Published in the 1920’s it contains 72 illustrated pages which relate to excerpts from various authors like Elliott White Springs, Roy Brown, Floyd Gibbons & Norman S Hall.

Next is the cover of Knight’s children’s book, The Non-Stop Stowaway: The Story of a Long Distance Flight (1928).

The next Knight illustration is of the Nocturne Militaire book written by Elliott White Springs. Springs (1896 – 1959), was a South Carolina businessman & an American flying ace of World War I, credited with shooting down 16 enemy aircraft.

The last image is a photo of the artist next to one of his paintings. It was in terrible shape, but it is so rare to see photos of some artists, especially beside their paintings, I tried to fix it up some & show it.

Have a great day Everyone! 🙂

I agree! I had a knock down drag out with a cousin on FB yesterday. She pulls out all of the talking points, but no facts. Then tries to call all illegal aliens refugees and asylum seekers (and no criminals among them, don’t you know), and tried to guilt me because I “don’t care.” I mentioned that, and she denied it when I had it in writing.

One of the crazier things she said is that there have been more terrorists apprehended at the Canadian border. I posted the stats for 2017, and no comment on it. For those that are interested, here is the file:

Most likely burned by cartel folks who regularly use fire, acid and other charming methods to deal with their 2-legged problems. The cartels own and control the Mexican side of the border – they let the Mexican government use it – and own the illegal immigrant business.
Right now ICE and some other branches of the government serve as at least semi-effective stops to physical cartel infiltration, but if those members of the community and Congress who want to see the protective agencies disbanded succeed in getting open borders major cities all through America will slowly become Juarez Norde.

    While I have a minute..HELLO! Yes very busy still….
Here is a very cute great story!

When 2019 started off with a beloved toy gone missing and a child in tears, the January blues hit hard for Anna Pickard.

The San Francisco-based creative director had just arrived from a family vacation in sunny Hawaii when she made the awful discovery that someone hadn’t made the flight.

Sutro, her son’s teddy bear, had been left at the five-star Grand Hyatt Kauai, where they’d been staying.

As anyone who’s ever lost a favorite toy knows, sometimes that’s just the sad end of the story. But Pickard didn’t give up.

“We just had many tears when we realized my son had left his teddy bear in the pull-out bed in the room,” she wrote in an email to the hotel.

Sutro the bear (Credit: Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa)

To her relief, Pickard got a positive response from Julien Woerpel, the Hyatt’s housekeeping director. The hotel staff had found Sutro, along with his furry companion Kauai, a newly purchased toy Hawaiian monk seal.

Woerpel, a father of two children aged 1 and 3, says he was touched by Pickard’s email and empathized with the situation.

“Anna was so nice and I fully understand how distraught kids can be when they realize their bear buddy is missing,” he tells CNN Travel.

Woerpel decided to put a light-hearted spin on the situation and, with the help of Rachel Bower, the Hyatt’s assistant executive housekeeper, help Sutro make the most of his extended stay.

“Rachel and I thought we’d make it fun and show that his bear was just having so much fun on his Kauai vacation that he wanted to stay longer,” he explains.

The swanky Grand Hyatt Kauai, situated on the golden sands of Poipu Beach, prides itself on good customer service — but Woerpel and his team took it to another level.

Lucky bear Sutro became a true VIP guest, taken on an adventure around the resort with his escapades and experiences documented in a series of heartwarming photographs — all sent back to Pickard to reassure her son.

    VIP experience

“He suddenly sent the wonderful email with all the images,” Pickard tells CNN Travel.

Sutro the bear even got a manicure. (Credit: Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa)

The photos depict Sutro and Kauai visiting the laundry room, hanging out with the employees who originally found the toys. The pair then spent time at the hotel spa where Sutro even got a manicure.

Their vacation is pretty envy-enducing. Sutro and Kauai got to experience everything the Hyatt has to offer, lounging in a fancy cabana, going for picturesque walks around the resort and chilling by the pool.

“We took him all around the resort where he met staff, helped do landscaping and laundry, got a spa treatment and finally checked out before heading home,” says Diann Hartmann, director of marketing communications at the Grand Hyatt.

Pickard posted the images on social media — and this adorable tale of the kindness of strangers set the Twitterverse alight.

Meanwhile, Pickard left a postcard on her son’s pillow from Sutro, explaining that his bear had loved his time Hawaii so much, he’d decided to stay a couple of extra days, but he’d be back very soon.

The moral of the story? It’s always worth sending a friendly email and being polite to hotel employees.

And yes, a lost toy is upsetting, but it’s also possible the teddy bear’s having the vacation of a lifetime.
