    Morning Everyone!
    Today’s painting I believe from looking at the logo on lower right & from the painting style is by LC Leyendecker

    Our Nativity cake for today reflects the intense colors of the painting, and also looks like a stained glass window. I’m guessing it was made by “painting” with tubes of gel icing.

    Caturday has not appeared yet so I’ll just put this little Christmas kitten here 😉

      Interesting. Israeli companies have come up with a few innovative ways of treating cancer over the last few years but despite being tested and adopted in Israel and Europe they still have to slog through the tortuous and special-interest minefield of FDA testing and acceptance. The FDA may look at foreign testing but will still start it going through the long and winding road of the Federal swamp.

        As I was dragging myself out of a foggy awakening this AM the basis for my reply ooooozed into my mind.
        After 911 there was, if you remember, a big fear of a dirty bomb attack or AQ sneaking a suitcase nuke into the US. The fear wasn’t groundless so port cities started installing radiation detectors around the port areas just in case the bad guys managed to sneak any radioactive device in…you know, like inside of all of that dope they can’t seem to find?
        One night a guy was driving past an active part of the Port of New Orleans, down on Tchoupitoulas Avenue (didn’t have to put that detail in but I just love to write that name).
        Suddenly he’s surrounded by various police, lights flashing, guns out, barking orders to get out of the car, ect. The guy’s in shock – what’s he done?
        In the course of things he’s told he been stopped because he’s the only car on Tchoupitoulas (there we go again) and the radiation detectors have gone off – he’s suspected of carrying radioactive materials. The locals who can’t seem to catch the dope coming in thru the port have potentially captured a major terrorists, hi-5s and donuts all around.
        Imagine their surprise when the doctors at a major local hospital confirm that he’s being treated for prostate cancer by having radioactive seeds implanted in his prostate, seeds whose radioactivity will, they hope, destroy the cancer.
        So the process isn’t new, maybe it’s just this particular isotope being used that it. I would suggest, however, that if you were to need this treatment you get a certified note from your doctor in case you have to travel by/in/thru a port and some airline facilities as the security/TSA staff might not be as restrained in reacting as these local police were.

    Anybody else remember yesterday being the 30th anniversary of the Pan Am bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland? 259 passengers/crew going home for Christmas and 11 people on the ground were killed.
    An investigation led to the arrest and conviction of a Libyan intelligence officer in 2001. He was sentenced to life in prison by a Scottish court but in 2009 was diagnosed with prostate cancer and, for humanitarian reason, released and allowed to return to Libya where he dies about 2-1/2 years later.

    It’s amazing how much cancer sucks. J. was half of my best friend.

    C. is the other half, and is still half of my best friend, ever.

      Beautiful. You know Wooly I volunteer with an organization that brings groceries and other necessities to our poor brothers and sisters, most of my people have mental health issues.

      She pulls those shades down tight

      ^This really struck me because I would say that regardless of the weather or time of day at least 70% of our people have every blind and or curtain pulled closed. It always makes me sad it is as if the world is simply too much for them, even the sunshine makes them hide.

    It’s a shame that someone doesn’t create some stretchy material thing that would slide over the foot and ankle while simultaneously fitting inside of a shoe, then both your ankle and foot would stay warm.

    No mention of Saudi Arabia picking up the slack re the Kurds, thus relieving our troops of that obligation. Of course, if any entity even breathes in the Saudis’ direction, they will severely regret it. They are apparently VERY well armed.

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

      This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. Back when TV was good.

      I have to keep pausing it, because I’m laughing so hard.

      “Boxes and boxes of bullets!”

      “Makes me wish I was back in school again. Why, our old cross-eyed teacher couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn!”

      Tell your kids this: TV used to be good. They’ll express disbelief, but assure them, it did.

      Once upon a time. Show them all of Little House, and Andy of Mayberry, and The Waltons. TV was actually good at one tiny point in our history. It served the cause of goodness, for a very brief period.
