      Morning Lucille šŸ™‚
I appreciate the joy you bring to Stella’s.

I have been thinking – Who would want to be the opposition? They are so sour & dour, like the Grinch! Let’s be real – they are NO FUN! I read of the people here, we all have our crosses to bear. The people here could be grinches, but we choose to be hopeful & happy. I also think of my early years, which I refuse to call a childhood. I realize that even in my poverty as a child, if my family had a different attitude, it would not have made me less hungry or cold, but it still would have made a huge difference in my life.

I belive my Joy, (which is not happiness), even in my pain is a gift of the Holy Spirit. I think Joy comes from Christianity to be honest, and their rejection of true Christianity is the basic reason for their unhappiness and actions. There are exceptions, but the rejection of the tenents of true Christianity (not sjw) might be the majority of the cause of their dour unhappiness and actions.

But still looking at the 2 groups – who would choose their whining, sour side vs joy and hope?

I believe joy is a gift from God. You can teach yourself to be happy, but joy comes as a fruitful gift as you give yourself over.

I canā€™t really verbally do justice to my beliefs, but I agree with you. We donā€™t just go out and make it happen.

Funny -> Wed I was moved to write of Joy, today (Thurs) I was moved to write of Love.

I wish there was more recognition and understanding of the Holy Spirit. It seems if you say something today, if people even know, they think it’s just speaking in tongues. It seems He has been forgotten, even by the Church. The novena and prayers I found researching Him have been 100 years old, except for a quote from Pope Benedict, and some nice EWTN small booklets I have purchased. On TV and in their Masses, even EWTN mostly ignore Him. I have called them up about it a couple of times around Pentacost, and they responded by speaking of the Holy Spirit at a Homily, but then no more. Growing up the Holy Spirit was regularly spoken of in the Homilies, and Pentacost was a major Holy Day.
God Bless you and yours this Holyday season and all year long my dear Menagerie

He hasn’t been forgotten by my priests. One counsels me to be silent and listen to the spirit, the other taught me to seek out the Veni Sancti Spiritus for prayer and reflection. He also once gave me counsel regarding the Holy Spirit and prayer after we had discussed a particular difficulty I was having that was a very big deal to me. It was the absolute perfect counsel for me and got me over the hump. He says he doesn’t come up with these things, the Spirit does.

You are Blessed to have priests like that. I have not known a priest like that in over 40 years. I also pray the Veni, Sancte Spiritus every night before bed šŸ˜‰
Praying the long form Novena to the Holy Spirit seriously and thoughtfully (my mind wanders, oh look! a bunny!) made a huge difference in my life – also in a difficult time.
I also like “The Holy Ghost our Greatest Friend” $3. booklet from EWTN.
The other thing that changed my life was getting a book where the New Testament [1] was printed in chronological order and just reading through the whole thing over 2-3 days, while researching things I had questions about on the EWTN Q&A website. I decided this is the way life should be, and this is how I will strive to live my life. That is what got the ball rolling in the change in my life. Then the HS Novena, the HG our greatest friend, then the Veni, Sancte Spiritus.
[1] (protestant I think. I could not find a Catholic one. As a cradle Catholic I had, by going to Mass, listened to & read the entire bible multiple times, but “chopped up” into smaller daily readings.)

I wonder about who or what caused the Holy Spirit to be forgotton in most churches. The Holy Spirit was the One sent by God to guide us and be our advocate. I think the loss in particular of the Holy Spirit in most people’s lives is a big part of why society is regressing.

              Peace to you my friend

Had they been alive today they’s undoubtedly been Democrats and avid Obama supporters.

Why Did Michael Cohen Plead Guilty to Campaign Finance Crimes That Aren’t Campaign Finance Crimes?
    By Jeremiah L. Morgan

On Wednesday, a district court judge in Manhattan accepted Michael Cohen’s guilty plea to political crimes and sentenced him to three years in the American gulag. But if the two campaign finance crimes to which he pleaded guilty are not really crimes, why did he plead guilty to them? And what precedents does this case establish that can be used against political enemies in the future?

Good morning, jeans2nd! The Democrat party pretends to care about Americans (or anyone else, for that matter) in front of the cameras and in print media. However, their entire aim is to destroy–not just defeat–those whose philosophy is geared toward the individual and the Constitution, in favor of big government and the suppression of the individual’s liberty and freedom.

Not a victim. Not a #metoo. Remember: if Dems or the Deep State Gov does it, it’s not illegal, or even immoral.

Imagine if I was in charge of your kids for a day, and I decided to teach them about anal and oral sex, and pretending to be a girl when you’re a boy, and said “Shhh! Don’t tell your parents what I’m teaching you.” I’d be rightfully thrown into prison, general population, and I’d survive about four days or so.

That’s what your public schools are doing to your kids and you.

  6. Went to the E.R. yesterday, spent four hours in a gown, getting all manner of X-rays, blood tests, and such. Thought it was either a) Pleurisy, b) a collapsed lung, or c) a tumor.

Nope. I pulled three or four muscles between my left-side ribs. I mean the meat between the ribs.

Got a 1-week prescription for Flexoril, and some Lidoderm patches. I hope this pain goes away soon. We have to cater for 300 people tomorrow.

Breathing hurts, in or out. Coughing is 10/10 on the pain scale. Sneezing is like I imagine what it feels like to get shot in the side of the chest. 11/10 pain. I normally sneeze three times. Now? I cut it off by force of will, because once was enough.

So sorry Wooly. My doc says cold compresses 1st 24 hours to reduce swelling, then warm compresses. That’s the injury I had right before the shingles popped out there. I feel your pain. Do you really have to work so soon after the injury? For muscle pain I use advil, for nerve pain, aleve, although the l-lysine is working great for the shingles nerve pain. The adil or aleve just take the edge off enough to make it bearable, but I won’t use other “stronger” prescriptions – they just make me too dopey to say I hurt. Take care of yourself. A little care of yourself in the beginning of an injury saves a long time of recovery. It has taken me 60 years to learn self-care, and that I can not always just “will myself” to continue on. Take care of yourself dear Wooly.

Try the l lysine amino acid. It may or may not work for everybody. It took the place of aleve for my shingles in the daytime (it does not last more than 2-3 hours, but I take 1000mg 3x/day, so I get pretty good daytime coverage). I only take the aleve at night. I have not heard of the pain from shingles going away after only 2 weeks by just not stretching, especially since it takes me 2-3 times longer than normal to heal from anything.

That is exactly what happened to me about 25 years ago. First they checked for a heart attack (at least that kept me from waiting for hours to be seen) and then they did a bunch of tests and pronounced it pleurisy. I didn’t believe it and the more I thought about it, I was sure that it was a pulled muscle or something from trying to separate two carts at Walmart the night before. They gave me prescriptions for antibiotics, I believe and I just didn’t get them.

It went away after a while, so I was right. I know for sure I was not as bad as you are, though. Hope it heals fast.

Didn’t mean I ‘liked’ that but have been there a few times. I’d suggest that if you are carrying anything in the catering you practice to see under what positions you get pain, ditto with bending/stooping. Flexoril is a muscle relaxer and may make you woozy and effect your sense of balance. See a potential problem here?
Can’t say in your case but recovery time varies and needless to say the more you work the damaged muscles the longer they’ll feel bad and the longer it will take to heal. You might want to see if the doc or a physical therapist would get with you on a wrap for the area. At one time my ‘no pain, no gain’ CO had the docs wrap me with a big elastic bandage and it helped…some.

    Morning everyone!
Today’s painting is St Bernards to the rescue by John Emms

I was looking for easy ways to get a Nativity on Chritmas cakes. I chose these 2 cakes to show a way to use non-toxic kids Nativity figures rather than making them from fondant – which I’m not going to do! The 1st cake uses royal icing under the figures to “glue” them onto the cake top. It gives a very nice effect with just the writing and a bow. The royal icing pops off frosting, and probably also the fondant if that’s what you use use (that’s what’s on this cake).

The second cake uses fondant as well. Fondant can be purchased in pre-made sheets in different colors then cut out with cookie cutters for figures around the base etc. You could put a layer of waxed paper above the flat fondant top and edge with frosting, place the figures, then when at table just take both off before cutting.

I want to thank you all for you kindness, advice and especially prayers yesterday. It is of great help and comfort to me.
I have to go now. I have so much to do before traveling, and so much work to catch up on.
Have a great day everyone! šŸ™‚

Note that NO ONE is talking about the similarities between the Rat’s allowing millions pof unvetted illegals to flood in the Rat’s Mariel Boatlift that allowed thousands of unvetted criminals and mental patients into the US. Castro used the boatlift to not only get rid of his criminal, mental and undesirable elements during a Rat Administration. He used the boatlift to infiltrate drug distribution elements during a Rat Administration. He used the boatlift to try and undermine US sovereignty during a Democratic administration. He used the boatlift to clean his house of undesirables and send them to the US where we fed, medicated and clothed them, during a Democratic Administration. The Marielitos filled US jails and prisons for decades, after being allowed to flood in unchecked during a Democratic Administration.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

A prayer for Justice Kavanaugh and Col. Flynn:

    Prayer to St. Michael

    St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
    May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
    by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

  19. My version is better. I can rock this song. This song was written in 1853 by Ellen Goreh, (or Ellen Lakshmi Gorch, in other mythologies). The melody and structure became the most popular Karaoke songs ever, Life is Like a River, by some schmuck. Lots of ecumenical song melodies and structures became secular songs.

Someday I’ll upload my version. You’ll all be like, “Why the heck are you washing dishes and maintaining salad bars, cleaning floor drains, organizing freezers and fridges, and mopping floors?”
