We come close to that kind of sky though lights on the horizon from the smallish towns 14 miles north, south and west tend to wash out some. It’s still much better than in NOLA where the color of night is a sky-filling dull orange.
I can remember the nightly news weatherguessers telling folks about astronomical events and people going out of rooftops or on the bridges trying to get a clear (nevermind clean) view of even the full moon…usually unsuccessfully. Out here we actually get sharp moonshadows from 3/4 moons – one of a number of things that makes up for having to go eight miles to the closest gas station.

Yeah, when we were in Egypt it was darker than hell, with clear no humidity skies. Most of our city soldiers never knew what the sky really looked like.
At Cairo West we saw a glow from the hilltop and went over to see what it was. Turned out the 18th ABC commander had this huge Suleiman the Magnificent-style tent set up as his quarters/headquarters. Carpets, guards over 6-feet tall, huge interior/exterior lighting systems that made it look as if it glowe internally. One of the guys there said he wanted the Russians to see it from their eye-in-the-sky satellites – they didn’t need a satellite to see it.

Morning Wee! Is cold again!
My oldest son’s second Christmas he was a little over one year old. My husband bought him this ride on crane that was made of heavy plastic, and the bucket operated, boom lowered, all that stuff. He was up into the wee hours putting it together, and this is a man who is very mechanically capable. He said he worked on real cranes that were much easier. I secretely and silently amidst all the muttering and cussing thought it served him right for getting it for a one year old.

It was good. GS kept me up all night, but that’s okay. (He’s always been a noisy and fidgety sleeper… at one point he was was reciting Chicka Chicka Boom Boom in his sleep! LOL!) GD is growing like a weed! She’s so stinkin’ cute, too, really petite and sweet! ❤️

I love baby girls!
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom has been a big favorite of my autistic grandsons. I found the recommendation for the book when I was looking for ways to help the oldest one improve his speech, back before he got therapy. I love that book!

It is a great book! I worked with autistic preschool aged kids years ago and we played Jim Gill songs for them. It really helped and they loved it.

I remember losing weight from sweat and frustration putting some complicated toy together, thinking our crumb cruncher would get great enjoyment out of it, only to have him spend hours playing with the box. He’s still out of the will.

Good day, WeeWeed! The husband of the nurse who took care of my mother worked as an independent contractor “assembler” for many of the big box stores. Five days a week he made a very good living going to the homes of folk who simply could not put items together.
P.S. I’m terrible at putting anything together and have been known to simply give away an item that was too much trouble. LOL!

Not even kidding. Such great performance. They just lost one of their main 3 performers. Sad. Such good metal, it boggles the mind. The band, per se, is painted in gray, and in the background of all the videos, with occasional forays into videoing them. The band is in the background. The girls are the face of the band, and they rock. But the band is absolutely, astonishingly good Metal. By which I mean Classical.
