Good Morning sand. Snowed here all day yesterday and Squeaks decided that he really didn’t need to go out this morning. The high today is supposed to reach 32 degrees and I tend to think that, for once, I’m in agreement with the cat. :0)

On matters of weather I am mostly in agreement with cats. Too hot, too rainy, too cold. Altho Mickey B&W doesn’t seem to care: unless it’s pouring rain he’d rather be outside. Here’s the pic of him pointing to be let ouside.

There’s a feral female that has taken up residence in the abandoned garage across the street and I wasn’t sure there was anything that was gonna stop Squeak’s desire to be outside, but I guess the white stuff was his red line. :0)

We have a couple of feral colonies in the woods around us. We rarely see one but they’re out there, we’ve developed the ability to differentiate between the feral cat and bobcat marking scents. Not exactly your basic survival skill but since cable tv sucks…

I’m ready to start decorating, but have to wait for GGS to come. It’s become important to him that he gets to go in the attic for the supplies, pick out the tree, put the decorations up and, especially, put the star on the tree.

I remember loving to color, so I bought a coloring book and some colored pencils. Guess what?! Someone with even a little arthritis in their fingers has a problem coloring. And, I seem to not have the attention span to stick with it anyway. LOL

Richard’s from NOLA and I once new a sculptress here (she redid my ears – another story) who lived across the street from him when he was a child. She said that he was the meanest kid she knew and the only one whom she ever threw out of her house. Just goes to show you how people can change. RIP, Betty.

It was seventy degrees here today, and in a few days it’s going to be in the lower twenties again. I really prefer the seventies, especially since I’m waiting on a new air handler.

We had nearly a week where the thermometer needle never moved off 20 above, so the ground got pretty frozen. Now it’s 40 degrees and raining on top of the frozen ground which is all slicker’n goose snot. Nearly killed myself just trying to get to the car this morning to go to church. Sheesh, I just wish real winter would actually get here. Crunchy snow doesn’t slam you on your a**. “Global warming” sux.

Yes, all is fine here. Those little ones–the 1s and 2s–aren’t even detectable without sensitive equipment. 3s just barely. 4s you can notice. I call anything less than a 4 an “earth burp.” Our main highway from Kenai to Nikiski sustained a few good-sized cracks that required some significant road repair from DOT, but they got ‘er done the same day. Anchorage sustained multiple major road collapses. I still have not heard of any loss of life or serious injuries, thank goodness.

I’m glad it hasn’t caused problems in your area. Based on the images of the destruction, it’s amazing and pretty miraculous that no serious or fatal injuries occurred.
