Rocket Steam Engine

The first working steam engine is often credited to be Richard Trevithick in 1804. However, George Stephenson’s engines were more famous because of their greater impact. For example, his Rocket, built in 1829, running along the Great Liverpool, Manchester railway helped to usher in the new railway age and the age of industrialization in Britain and later the world.

James Watt played a key role in making the steam engine more efficient.

Computer printers have been quietly embedding tracking codes in documents for decades

The existence of the hidden dots gained renewed interest this week when they were found embedded in a top-secret report by the US National Security Agency (NSA) that was published by The Intercept on June 5. About an hour after the report was published, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had arrested a suspected leaker. The 25-year-old NSA contractor, Reality Leigh Winner, was charged “with removing classified material from a government facility and mailing it to a news outlet.”

In an affidavit released by the DOJ, an FBI agent described how Winner had been tracked down. The scanned copy of the document, which The Intercept had given to the government to confirm its authenticity, “appeared to be folded and/or creased,” the agent wrote, “suggesting they had been printed and hand-carried out of a secured space.”

To aid in physical and comparison examinations, the QDU maintains the following files that are divided into two types:
Reference Files: Repositories for information drawn from casework, which are used to relate incoming data to previously examined material, for example, to make an association between two threatening notes.

Standards Files: Repositories for manufacturers’ and similar primary-source data, which are used to determine the source of an item of evidence, for example, the maker of a style of typeface.

If you got yours from the GSA store but some of us had permissions to go to local civilian outlets for supplies. We still have a Selectric with the type balls, not sure if it works but…

Reminds me of a small spy story back in the day. Seems the Soviets discovered a way to correlate the spacing between when the typist’s finger hit the key and the ball hit the paper to figure out letter being typed.
They also found a way to intercept our early computer comms. We had the main CPU cases ‘Tempest’ hardened to prevent extraneous leaks but they forgot about the CRY screens. Bad Guys, and later us, found that with some stuff you could actually round up at Radio Shack you could build a device that would capture the CRT screen from outside the building. We also had large filters on the electrical lines that prevented any signasls from being leaked backwards out of the building.
Then there was the entire issue of your cell/smart phone imprinting your GPS and time on pictures you took. You generally didn’t see the info unless you knew how to access the picture’s metadata – don’t know if the phones still do that but no reason to believe they don’t. It used to be used by various folks both good and bad (‘good’ being a relative thing) to find your location at a certain time.
I’ve said a number of times that your loving and benign government has been working on violating every shred of privacy you have for decades. The home entertainment system hack was my personal fav, they can hack right in if it’s connected to the internet (even if it isn’t in some cases) and use the system’s camera and mike to eavesdrop on you.
So remember, y’all, you elected the folks doing this so you have no room to complain, you approved their actions thru your votes. Anyway, if you are an honest and loyal American you should have no worries about benign government monitors searching thru every aspect of your life, you should have nothing to hide, citizen.

Everybody can be big brother today. Tracking what we say, what we do, and web sites we visit. Even private companies can do it.

Last spring our sweet grandbabies where going on a school field trip and my husband and I were filling in for our daughter as chaperon. She had emailed us the address then we talked on the phone because it was at an out-of-the way park.

The thing that I learned that day was her private company’s software could see when I received the email, when I opened it, and how I disposed of it. (We use to do that type of thing when I was working but we all had matchie/matchie internal computers on the same internal network.) Our daughter’s private company’s tracking device allowed her to know when to call to answer our questions because she knew we would have them.

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I were doing the video and sound equipment at church when we had a problem with the big screen display that the worshippers see. We did the routine checks and fixes but ultimately had to call the electrician/computer expert. He was out of town so he had to do a Google Join session to read the churches computer from his iPhone. In fairly short order he had the hymns displaying on the big screen. The need to go to the church hymnals was averted.

We had a young man working with us who was shocked that someone at will could get into the church computer. He said that is just scary. I told him that we use to do that 30 years ago but with dial up modems. If he was shocked before he practically fell out of his chair that it was possible 30 years ago.

Years and years ago I read that no computer or computer device was secure unless it was in a room with no windows, doors, or outlets. And even then he wasn’t sure if it was secure.

Welcome to the world of big brother. Personally I don’t worry about it because I think most people know what I think. On the bright side we have friends all over the world that can talk about current issues and their love of family and friends freely.

      Have a truly blessed day.

          Hi Stella,

“everybody should know about it. Knowledge is power.”

          I agree 100%.

Back in the ‘80’s I went to a computer conference that included speakers from Microsoft*, Apple, HP etc.

At that time people were big stuff if they had a 40 mg hard drive personal computer because most people were still using dual floppies at the time.

The speaker that was really interesting to me was the one from HP. He was talking about computer storage capacity. CD’s were not even being produced at the time and this HP presenter was telling us what physicists had projected would be available in the future. His projections in the 80’s are so far behind what is happening today it is astounding.

Bottom line: When the young man expressed unawareness of connection capabilities at church that Sunday, I told him he needed to think of computers as tools. (He had said he hated them.) I also told him he needed to never put anything on a computer that he doesn’t want his grandchildren to know. That storage capacity is out there today. There is absolutely no telling what will be out there tomorrow.

The classification line on the document’s a bit interesting. We have Top Secret signals intelligence information with release controlled by the document’s owner, the NSA.
What I find curious is that in the group already approved for release is FVEY, or ‘Five Eyes’, an intel sharing group composed of the US, Britain, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. They’ve been working behind the lines to get total and complete access to ALL communications by individuals and companies by making sure any companies or individuals making encryption programs give them the ability to break the encryption. The Five Eyes have long been vacuuming up the world’s metadata but have been stymied by some new encryption systems.
      Just an observation.

I was fascinated by President Trump’s statement that he likes Hard Lines.

I asked my husband if he thought the POTUS really uses land line telephones. He said when they show the POTUS talking on the phone it is always on a land line type phone.

Made me think of the Cherokee Nation Code Talkers from WW II.

Land lines – who would have thought that was a way of securing phone calls.

Fascinating way of dealing with security issues.

  6. Good Morning Everyone,

I have been busy the past week or so preparing for a fundraiser for a great candidate named Steve Negron in U.S. Congressional District 2 in NH to replace the super liberal Dem. Annie Kuster. This would be a great win not only for the people of NH, but for everyone across the country who believes in the goodness of our country, our laws, and the Trump agenda. I wrote this to ask everyone to spread the word about him, offer any help they can, but also to show WHAT AN HONEST INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN IS UP AGAINST WHEN TRYING TO UNSEAT THE PROGRESSIVE BIG MONEY MACHINE. So many people ask, ‘why don’t honest individuals run for office’? I never realized how well funded and organized the progressive machine was, and would scoff at “community organizers”, but no more. This is Steve’s story.

My husband worked with Steve at GTE, now General Dynamics. DH has great respect for Steve, saying he is tough, but fair. We certainly need more people with backbone in Congress. Steve is an Air Force veteran, small business owner, and NH State Rep. Steve has a truly grassroots campaign funded by people’s small donations and his own hard earned money. He only has a few thousand dollars of PAC money from two PAC’s: Kelly Ayotte’s – she lives in his district, and a PAC that gives money to elect veterans to Congress. Steve has raised somewhat over $300,000. from his own pockets, actual NH residents, and from relatives and people that he has worked with from around the country. Annie Kuster has over $3,500,000.! Ten times as much money, however ALMOST ALL of that money comes from OUTSIDE NH, and most of it is from PACs, lobbyists, unions, and large dollar donors from NY & Calif.

Steve believes in God, that this country is great, the rule of law, and he supports President Trump. He believes in small government, stopping the attacks on the Bill of Rights, the frugal use of the taxpayers’ money (There is NO such thing as government money), and ending run away debt.

He believes in LEGAL immigration – just like how his grandfather immigrated here from Mexico, securing our borders, and taking care of veterans. Taking care of our veterans is personal for him. His friend who was a veteran died from lack of proper care. Steve and his family have over 100 years of combined military service to our country since his grandfather LEGALLY immigrated here.

NH suffers from voter fraud [1]and huge amounts of progressive out of state money pouring in. We have now passed laws to tighten the ridiculous “voter laws” pushed through by a past Democrat government that allowed fraud, however on Oct. 22nd a democrat appointed judge stopped them from taking effect in this election [2]. Between these two problems it is very hard to stop the voter fraud. It is like trying to fix the hole in your lifeboat while one group is dumping more water into it and another group is making the hole larger. Because of the fraudulent votes, it’s hard to get the people elected that will stop the fraudulent voting, and Soros’s millions paying for progressive Attorney General and Sec. of State candidates to be elected only adds exponentially to the problem.

If any citizen reading this from NH or elsewhere across our great country would like to help Steve Negron be elected to represent OUR VALUES in the U.S. Congress, here is his website: http://www.Negron4Congress.com. Please let other people know of Steve. We believe if he can get known, he will win! His numbers have been rising as more people hear about him. Polling shows 45% of the people want Kuster out, but she has so much money, she is flooding the airwaves with ads, and people do not know Steve.

I also want to say that when I told Steve I would be praying for him, his face lit up! He would be so grateful for your prayers, and his election would help us all. I truly believe God will only bless the USA if we act, do the right thing, and pray. Thank you.

Okay czar, final report on the spaetzle. My husband, a real meat and potato lover, although he really also likes a lot of whatever I throw at him, pronounced it truly delicious and let me know he’d welcome more of it.

As you suggested, I made mac and cheese out of the leftovers, only the easiest you’ve ever done. Since the noodles were just oozing with goodness, I decided not to be picky. I put them in a dish, salted lightly and peppered them, poured a little half and half over them, dotted with butter, topped with some grated cheddar and a little gouda, sliced thinly. When the whole thing was done, I just stirred it up. And it was so delicious.

I know you will – but please remember that others especially professionals can only give you a snapshot of what they have been trained to check off on their preordained checklist. I know that there are good professionals in the mental health industry but in all honesty I have to say I believe a good mental health expert is a rare rare bird. I hope and pray your little guy gets people who evaluate him as a unique individual and simply a set of DSM – 5 .

Gil, you know your little guy and what is uniquely him, what makes him tick, filter whatever information you are given through your own mom sifter.

I am happy to hear that he wants to go to school everyday. the boy has a fighting spirit if he wants to go forward with things that are hard for him. Strength is a beautiful trait to have.

Yes. I now believe his teacher is becoming hypercritical. I was really clumsy and he is too. He has shoes a half size too big, he likes wiggle room. His teacher decided it was worth writing a note. 😒 And she says he ran “passed” her(how she wrote it) and pinched her. He told me he did run up to her (hyper actively) pinch her to get her attention to ask permisdion to go to the bathroom. Then he was put in time out and never asked if he needed something. Using his words, keeping his hands to himself rules if the road. Hes probably the youngest boy also.

I don’t want to overstep but please be really careful with the teacher. Document everything email as much as you can so you have an unassailable record. I don’t like the situation at all. Too many teachers are little power hungry gestapos who love wielding their power over children and their parents.

Some battles you cannot win. If the situation at school becomes un-winnable because the teacher decides that your boy is not worthy of her effort because he will never paint flowers in neat rows of green and red get him the hell out of that school.

This could be a personality conflict. And, it can go both ways. If his teacher dislikes him, he can sense it and maybe act in ways he wouldn’t with someone else. Can you get him transferred to a different room?

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

“After watching her husband rip into pro-death senators who used Dr. Christine Blasey Ford in attempts to derail the appointment of her husband to the U.S. Supreme Court, Ashley is asking all people of faith to unite in praying Psalm 40, which reads:”

“BE PLEASED, O LORD, TO DELIVER ME, LOOK DOWN, O LORD TO HELP ME. LET THEM BE CONFOUNDED AND ASHAMED TOGETHER, THAT SEEK AFTER MY SOUL TO TAKE IT AWAY. LET THEM BE TURNED BACKWARD AND BE ASHAMED THAT DESIRE EVILS TO ME.”

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen

Here is a bit of good news, the maggot faced bully who verbally accosted the 9/11 widow was fired from his job.

And of course this scum of the earth person worked on youth development.
