      I kind of feel like back in the day, when I had three hungry teenage boys and the friend or two to feed, as well as my husband, that I cooked almost that much. I used to have two large skillets for gravy because one wasn’t big enough.

      Then came that magical day that I found one so big it became my forever gravy pan. Only a few times a year now do I need that much gravy, but I still have the somewhat worn pan, still perfect for gravy to feed a hungry crew. It’s so big that if I want to pour the gravy in a bowl I have to get one of the guys to pour it. They hardly ever wait for formality here though, we are a straight up out of the skillet lined up and waiting family.

      Happy Wednesday y’all. Czar, I hope the cold spot hit you. Me, I am waiting to get my clothes dryer fixed. Always something, huh?

    It’s so cold. And windy. I’m not happy about this. I want summer back.

    I love what the girls wear in the summer. But I have this one lesbian friend. She has a bald head with a mohawk. In the winter she wears this hat with pigtails, that her mom gave her. It reminds me what she would look like if she actually had hair. So unbelievably cute. That’s the only good thing about winter. That and the Iditerod.

    I have to get my snowblower working again. One pull. It’s a Toro. Not a problem.

      I know this stunning young woman who has decided she’s bisexual. She dies her hair ridiculous colors, once shaved completely, and now almost always has one side completely shaved and the other some colored tangled hot mess.

      I do not understand the thinking behind that. When I was young, women wanted to be pretty and men wanted to be handsome. When did it become many of both sexes want to look ridiculous and clown like? And can anyone explain to me why? Seriously, I do not get the why.

      When my kids were growing up I often did not like the fashions. This is not fashion, it is people making themselves ugly.

      Yes, I know their response would be that I don’t get to define ugly. I just want to understand what, in their world, defines beauty.

      Here is a quote from the Cardinal Newman Society, very relevant.

      The Church has always used truth, beauty, and goodness to teach about God. Perhaps people have lost sight of beauty, true beauty, which skews their perception of truth and goodness and God.

      I do not know. I’ll go back to drinking coffee now.

        Menagerie, I don’t get it, either. This girl has a bald head with a mohawk, sometimes died in weird colors, and multiple tattoos. She’s so pretty, and doesn’t even know it, or maybe tries to hide it. Thankfully she doesn’t have multiple piercings on her face. No piercings at all, that I’m aware of. (!!) All I can do is say, “Why? Dear God, Why?” I wish I could get her to grow hair. I don’t think I’m capable.

        Well said, Menagerie. I truly think it is some combination of low self esteem and self hatred. They pretend not to care that others don’t like them (they don’t like themselves, so how could anyone else, in their minds) and settle for shock value instead. And the level to achieve shock becomes more and more outrageous; thus the massive head tattoos, piercings, split tongues, implanted metal balls and studs, etc. It is incredibly sad.

        I can’t tell you more than you have said. I know their answer is that the patriarchy does not get to decide what beautiful is.

        I don’t believe that they would agree there is objective beauty, not in a sunset, an ocean, a newborn baby’s smile, it is all subjective to them in order for them to keep there world of delusion encapsulated in a way that doesn’t challenge them to have a thought outside of their groupthink.

        I found something Thomas Wictor said about folks like the young woman pictured below very profound.

        “Whenever I see someone like this I immediately know that there is nothing extraordinary that they bring to the table.”

        How true and how sad, they have taken any mystery, any self that is them and traded it for a marching order to be mundanely dull in appearance. Nothing shocking, nothing cutting edge, nothing beautiful, nothing extraordinary just a manifest marching order.

        Sad.

      MANY years ago, at my first station at Charleston AFB, there was this cute-as-hell Charlie Brown WAF that I was dying to date but could barely get the time of day from.

      I was asleep in my barracks one night when, at about 0130 on a Saturday morning, I was jarred awake by red lights and a lot of noise at the WAF barracks next door. I couldn’t see much and surely didn’t want to do down there and ask what was going on.
      Next day the word was out – the Air Police got a tip that some of the lesbian WAFs were going to have a party and they raided it – right in the midst was my red haired WAF. Sigh, questions answered, hopes dashed.

      I took solace in finding out it wasn’t me….I hope.

      Yeah, that one got me too. Surprised they haven’t been hit with “practicing medicine without a license” charge. I knew a woman at a “self-care clinic” back in the 70s who got that charge for telling women to treat vaginal yeast infections with plain yogurt. And that’s a far cry from abortion. I would love to attend their workshop as an undercover. Not sure I could stand it, but I’d like to try. (I am a “person with a uterine system”) You are right. They are crazy.

        I worked with a girl who had a persistent problem with yeast infections. She went to a naturopath who prescribed douching with yogurt and garlic. It worked for her.
