    We have a day to ourselves today! We’ll go into the 45-miles-away big town (it’s gotta Starbucks, it’s that big!). Czarina will get an MRI and we’ll both get flu shots – her at her hospital and I at a Walgreens. We’ll then go to lunch at a Copeland’s (opened and owned at one time by the Popeyes founder), we haven’t eaten at one for ages. No they do not serve Popeyes fried chicken, it’s upscale – they have glass drinking glasses.

      I’ve been to a Copeland’s. When I first moved to the Dallas area, there was a brand new one built and I had a date to the private opening of the restaurant. It was fancy and fun. I had blackened chicken with pasta and a Cajun martini. I didn’t care for the martini, but I just thought it sounded fun and tried it. Enjoy your trip to the city, czar.

        Thanks, we plan to. We’re going to Slidell which is where folks have been escaping to from NOLA since the early 70s. People there can live a civilized and far safer life enjoying the amenities and still be close enough to NOLA to go in when the need/wish to.
        When Al owned them they were hot, hot, hot places – he loved his food and wanted everyone else to enjoy it. They had a more cutting edge NOLA menu, not this NEW orleans post-K excuse for Cajun/Creole. The family was supposed to retain control, we’ll see.
