California is a hazard to your health! Imagine typhus! When is the last time you even heard that word?

Downtown L. A. has always been a hazard in every way…often filthy…often scary with derelicts, drug addicts, people who are visibly physically ill laying and sitting around the streets in certain sections…even around the main police headquarters, the county buildings and the courts. It was shocking years ago…I can’t even imagine what it’s like today. Democratic = Demonic!

The last time I was in LA was in the 1980’s, and there were derelicts laying in the gutters downtown even then. I was shocked, as you never see that in Detroit (imagine)!

Yeah, I had a buddy who lived in the Korean district. We’d been with the Koreans on Hiway 1 so we’d go and eat at the Korean spots and talk with the store owners. They complained about the junkies and rummies in the streets and how the city ignored them – unless they did something themselves and then the city came down on them. I particularly like how they said the streets and alleys smelled like Korean farms after a thaw.

–to legitimize and sign off on the most despicable tactics ever in a nomination.
–to stand with Dianne Feinstein, Cory Booker, Kamala Harris.
–to leave Judge Brett Kavanaugh subject to claims of perjury/impeachment
          2)
–to abandon due process and presumption of innocence.
–to potentially leave High Court at a 4-4 deadlock, putting the loony 9th circuit in control of everything that matters to Alaska–development, prop rights, gun rights, enviro rules, etc.

Why we don’t spray for insects here.
We will spray our garden if it gets so bad that the crickets lean up against the tomato cages and smoke cigars as they brag about what they done et, and we’ll have to start spraying the fruit trees a bit but beyond that – nothing.
Our main driveway and secondary route are both through trees, the main drive being 20 feet wide at places, the secondary much closer due to branches overhanging. You’d think that 15 to 20 feet would be a bit wide for spiders but no, the drive’s full of them. At times they’re so dense that the car’s antenna – or your face if you’re on the ATV – is just draped with them.
These webs are done by huge spiders, mostly by our army of native banana spiders, and they happen almost while you wait. I have no idea how they span ten to fifteen feet down the lake path in an area with little wind but they do, and the web itself is frequently the size of a double bed. They appear during the day and by the next morning are largely gone.
It’s much the same with the grass spiders. When we have a very humid day the dew will condense on the grass and hundreds of square feet of lawn will be covered in dewy webs.
Someone once told me that these rural areas will have as much as a million various spiders per acre – you just rarely see them. They’ve become as much of a visual treat to us as the regular and more edible wildlife.

Nono…… Did I ever tell the story of when I was a small girl and I saw a very delicate small ball, it almost looked like a tiny Christmas tree ornament in the window sill of our cottage. I went to pick it up and it sprung legs and ran across my hand. It was some type of creepy spider masquerading as a small ornament. I can still see that moment and feel that moment.

I’m just amazed and fascinated by them. The up-close on a spider’s a bit disconcerting but the beauty of the spider and its web is…amazing and fascinating.

I’m also amazed by the numbers of things out here that eat insects and how many insects there are. We have fish in the lake constantly breaking water for bugs, a dozen different birds that eat them – including specialists like the flycatcher that flits around branches snagging flying insects close to tree trunks.
The spiders just add to it, they have their special little niches and we give each other space.

Check also to see if there is a home school association via a social club or church or simply a group of parents who get together. That will bring the socialization so necessary after school and usually one day a week for games, music, dances, etc.

Part of my family in Canada–Toronto area–homeschooled both a son and daughter for their entire school years through grade 12. A+ students, very well socialized via an association and through their church. They both graduated college with high scores.

Let me tell you this, Gil. Trust you motherly instinct. Don’t let anybody else convince you of things you don’t feel are right for your child. Don’t buy into it when they say he needs to go to school for “socialization”. Just remember so many of the kids that get that “socialization”. And, Lucille is right. There are many ways for him to socialize with other children. And, I think you are very intuitive and sensitive to what your child needs. Don’t be afraid to trust it.

I was worried about putting too much pressure on my son. At the time, that was what parents were doing to their children. However, my SON taught me that wasn’t a problem for him. I timed him for something on his math one time and he begged me to time him on everything after that. He loved being pushed. My stopwatch was always nearby.

One thing I noticed right off when we joined the homeschool group……..that is, the children were so well adjusted. They weren’t perfect, they wouldn’t have been well adjusted if they had been. But, they related well to the adults and the other children of all ages. Of course, there were some who had problems, but they were actually rare. I have objections to children being put in schoolrooms with children of their own age all day.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.

Things are going to get very ugly folks. I know we’ve all been saying it and seeing it.

Today I was with a group of friends and we were talking amongst ourselves about the Kavanaugh debacle and I was talking about Ford’s attorney and her position that Paula Jones should have suffered no consequences from Bill Clinton’s exposing himself to her and asking for a sexual favor because “the whole thing only lasted about 12 minutes”.

Out of nowhere a rabid nutcase wearing a Tony Evers (WI Governor democratic candidate) button and a “blue wave 2018” button started screaming at us about how she had overheard our conversation and was disgusted by women supporting a rapist. I told her I was disgusted by her supporting a partisan attorney who was abused and dismissed women who were real victims of sexual harassment. She was delusional in her anger spewing all kinds of crazy things.

Anyhow thankfully she stormed out of the building. These people are crazy.
