    The Maryland investigation will not be under any of the the time constraints of the FBI’s investigation. We will then hear that we cannot confirm a Justice who is under the cloud of an open criminal investigation. Game, set, match.

    Earlier this week, a group of Maryland lawmakers, all Democrats, called for the state to conduct its own criminal investigation into decades-old sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh, Trump’s pick to fill the U.S. Supreme Court seat vacated by the retired Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy.

    In their letter Tuesday, the Democrats said they were writing to “express our concern about the need for an investigation into recent high-profile allegations of sex assault in our county. … We believe local law enforcement has the authority to investigate allegations of crimes without need for a formal complaint, and we further believe third parties have standing to bring such complaints.”

    Fortunately, any such complaint would be classified as a misdemeanor, and there was a one-year statute of limitations at the time the so-called “crime” was committed. Makes me wonder why they would investigate it, if that is the case. Other than it’s another delay tactic, of course.

    Hi all. Kiddo saw lcsw today. She said at the most of what she gathers no add spectrum, autism, oppositional defiance disorder. One of her sons had adhd and odd so she knows it when she sees it.Maybe its developmental and not ready for kindergarten or sensory processing so she recommended going through the district testing. I was told the testing courtesy of our taxes is close to $3000.00.
    She thought the letter from his school was too general and sounded like some normal boy developmental things.
    She was very concerned about him peeing in the bathroom. He didnt want to talk about it. I saw 3 overt avoidance moments from him while there. She agrees that something triggered that out of anger. And to watch the interactions with staff. He did say he likes his teacher.
    She also to me to stop stressing out and same for mr. Gil. To play with him more and not be so harsh with consequences(I banned him from tv except POTUS rallies) but make sure he gets them. I have been letting mr gil’s frequent negative frustration get to me way too much. Ive got to make myself play with him more while he still wants to.
    So next step is the district meetings and lots of note taking. Then the lcsw said come back to check kiddo and she will help me sort through the recommendations. Not free but shes experienced, local, and nice enough that kiddo was comfortable with her.
    Until all this is done its one day at a time. I told him Id take him to a pumpkin patch and bouncy house if he gets his achievement stars for 2 days in a row.

      Gil, hope you took this woman’s words to heart. Slow and easy. If he acted out in anger (sure sounds like it) it’s not as bad as it sounds, as long as he learns to express it better as he goes.

      Maybe he feels threatened, under pressure, or even worse. Five year olds absolutely know what the emotions are around them. If he isn’t quite mature enough yet for school expectations that is not a failure on his part but it is exactly what he may be feeling from the teachers.

      We all get angry. As adults most of us know how and when to express it. Little guys don’t.

      I like the suggestions to go easy because that takes some pressure off of him. If he is feeling that from you, his dad, and school it won’t help him. He is too little for that now. Encouragement is key.

      It will be fine, just not easy. There is a difference!

    If anyone has seen the claim that Judge Kavanaugh lied about the drinking age in Maryland (it was raised to 21 in 1983), here are a couple of points to clarify:

    Also, Maryland allows minors to drink in non-alcohol serving premises with parental consent. Alcohol is also allowed to be consumed by minors if the person who gives the alcohol to the minor is an adult member of the minor’s immediate family.

    Dems Quietly Plan to Review and Release Trump’s Taxes

    Democrats on Capitol Hill seem to be quietly preparing to examine President Donald Trump’s tax returns, which he refused to release on the 2016 campaign trail, and publicly release portions of them. But only if their party regains control of the House or Senate after the midterm elections.

    Using a nearly 100-year-old statute, Democrats plan to use the little-known measure to legally obtain the president’s past tax filings without his permission. Created in 1924 as a provision under the Internal Revenue Code, the law states the U.S. Treasury Department “shall” turn over “any return or return information” requested by the chairmen of the House and Senate tax committees, in addition to Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation, for lawmakers to see.

    Those tax committees include the Senate Finance Committee and the House Ways and Means Committee.

    Democratic Representative Lloyd Doggett of Texas, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, told Politico the best approach to using the statute would be to “get all of [Trump’s filings], review it and, depending on what that shows, release all or part of it.”

    CNN reported earlier in September of Democrats’ ongoing efforts to convince Republican leaders of the House Ways and Means Committee to examine the tax filings.

    Republicans reportedly haven’t budged on the issue. As of September 5, Democratic Representative Bill Pascrell of New Jersey said Republicans on the committee had voted down the idea 17 times…
