I found it funny going through Idaho and Northern Nevada that I was in Mountain time, but Las Vegas is Pacific time. I listen to Mrs. Nyet on the phone and hear about how bright and sunny it is In Seattle while it’s just past sunset where I’m at.

Ahhhh…Vegas…thought you’d moved to a dry-heat center farther east. Left a few bucks in Vegas when we went in and out of Nellis AFB, nice place to visit but I’ve always been addicted to green.
What does Mrs Nyet think about Vegas and its …non-Slavic…climate?

When we lived in GA, we had a bathroom window that faced the large pond out back. It was a pretty scene when the moon was out after dark. But because of the locusts, frogs, toads, crickets, etc. were so loud that we couldn’t hear each other speak when the window was open. LOL

Today’s painting is Katsushika Hokusai’s The Great Wave Off Kanagawa:
and here is a Blaschka Portugese Man of War:
The below are Blaska porpita – the 1st 2 are Porpita porpita the 3rd is another type of Porpita. It dawned on me to try and “erase” the stands from the pictures to better show how they float in the water, so I have done so as I am able.:
The next image is NOT a Blaschka. It is by Caleb Nichols art glass sculptures, but the wave matched the painting so much, I had to include it.

I also wanted to post my Caturday picture here – what if you also found this in the wave?!
Here is some info about PMOW from oceanservice dot noaa dot gov:
The Portuguese man o’ war, (Physalia physalis) is often called a jellyfish, but is actually a species of siphonophore, a group of animals that are closely related to jellyfish. A siphonophore is unusual in that it is comprised of a colony of specialized, genetically identical individuals called zooids — clones — with various forms and functions, all working together as one. Each of the four specialized parts of a man o’ war is responsible for a specific task, such as floating, capturing prey, feeding, and reproduction. Found mostly in tropical and subtropical seas, men o’ war are propelled by winds and ocean currents alone, and sometimes float in legions of 1,000 or more!
Resembling an 18th-century Portuguese warship under full sail, the man o’ war is recognized by its balloon-like float, which may be blue, violet, or pink and rises up to six inches above the waterline. Lurking below the float are long strands of tentacles and polyps that grow to an average of 30 feet and may extend by as much as 100 feet. The tentacles contain stinging nematocysts, microscopic capsules loaded with coiled, barbed tubes that deliver venom capable of paralyzing and killing small fish and crustaceans. While the man o’ war’s sting is rarely deadly to people, it packs a painful punch and causes welts on exposed skin. Beachcombers be warned: The stalwart man o’ war may still sting you even weeks after having washed ashore. (As Czar can attest to!) Here are a couple of photos of them beached:

Parking spaces are few and far between in my town this time of year. The business owner next to me thinks he owns the one rare spot outside his building, (he doesn’t, it’s city property) and so he put a sign up saying so. (While he was putting the sign up, bless his heart, on a gas pipe with U-bolts, I waited patiently for him to screw all the nuts on the bolts before telling him it was upside-down, which it was.)
Yesterday, a young cop from an adjacent town asked me very politely if he could park here, in this spot. Sign on the wall says “Official Cars Only”. I laughed out loud. You’re asking ME? You’re a cop! And your car looks pretty official, it being a cop car and all!
Neighbor business owner is a good guy, too, and on my page politically. He just thinks he owns a parking space that he doesn’t. Which is why I waited for him to screw that sign on upside-down.
City life can be funny.

I don’t have a printer, but if I did, I’d make a whole bunch of bumper stickers that say:
“Official Car”. The store owner would be stumped.

I’m guessing he knows that the parking space is city property, but hopes that an official looking sign will dissuade tourists from parking there.

You’re right, but I wish I still had photobucket.
It says “No parking — Official cars only”
What does that even mean? LOL
This is my car. It’s officially my car.
It’s the dumbest sign I’ve ever seen, and I got to see it put on upside-down, to boot.
Then I got to tell a police officer, “Yes, you are allowed to park here.”
A day seldom gets funnier than that.

I still can’t stop laughing at the fact that a police officer asked me politely if he could please park here, while he goes to get his take-out order.
ME? I did laugh out loud, but I was polite, and explained to him that this was a legal parking space, and has been for the 12 years I’ve been here, and that SHPD ain’t going to give you a citation, especially since you’re driving a freakin’ COP CAR. He was like 22 though. I met him when he was a bicycle cop in my town.
I’ve never had, nor will I ever have, a cop ask me, “Can I please park here?”
I love Western Michigan. I also wonder if they will ever be assertive if need be.

Warren man charged in fight over President Trump
WARREN — Fred T. Dickson, 58, of Southern Boulevard Northwest, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor aggravated menacing in a Tuesday night neighborhood fight over President Donald Trump.
No arraignment date is listed in Warren Municipal Court records.
Dickson told police he was across the street at his neighbor’s house talking about cars when he told his neighbor’s friend, John S. Cope, 30, of Warren he was “not a fan” of the president, which triggered an argument.
Cope said Dickson was extremely intoxicated and threw a can of pop, which led to more arguing and Dickson saying, “I will show you,” Cope said.
Dickson left for a short time and returned with a shotgun, pointed it at Cope and threatened to kill him, Cope said. The argument ended after Cope disarmed Dickson, police said.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
