Windsor Castle, the oldest inhabited castle in the world, is the setting for tea with the Queen for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
Queen Elizabeth II has been the British monarch since February of 1952 – 76 years! Donald Trump is the 12th President that she has hosted and, at 92 years old she is still going – perhaps not as strongly as she once did, but certainly with a clear mind and sharp wit.

The original castle at Windsor was built in the 11th century by William the Conqueror. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by the reigning monarch and is the longest-occupied palace in Europe. The castle’s lavish early 19th-century State Apartments have been described as “a superb and unrivalled sequence of rooms widely regarded as the finest and most complete expression of later Georgian taste”. Inside the castle walls is the 15th-century St George’s Chapel, considered by the historian John Martin Robinson to be “one of the supreme achievements of English Perpendicular Gothic” design.

President Trump walked with the Queen as they inspected the Guard of Honour at Windsor Castle where the US national anthem was played in his honour.
The monarch greeted the President and First Lady in the quadrangle of the royal residence ahead of a private tea. A Guard of Honour, formed of the Coldstream Guards, gave a Royal Salute and played the American national anthem as the Trumps arrived for the engagement. The Queen and President Trump inspected the Guard of Honour before watching the military march past before all three retired beyond sight of the cameras for a private tea.The Queen looked elegant in a periwinkle blue coat and matching hat for the occasion while Melania changed out of the $2,000 striped Victoria Beckham dress she wore earlier today and into a cream skirt suit for the meeting.

I just realized. I was glad that the First Couple got to meet the Queen. But, I was even more glad that the Queen got to meet our First Couple. 😀

Just read in the press pool report that Melania’s suit is pale pink, by Dior. So many said it was off white or beige, but it looked pink to me!

Worsley has a wide range of interests and talents and is quite intelligent…but a tad too dramatic for me. She did a really good documentary on Mozart. If you’ve not seen it, highly recommended.

I have seen it. I think I’ve seen just about everything that is available on YouTube. I like her “drama”! She did a series about the history of dance with Len Goodman, and another one called “Reins of Power” about the art of horse dancing. Both are good.
Then there is the series about the history of the home – living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom – If Walls Could Talk.

Lucy did a 3-part series on the Georgians, and covers Windsor in the last one, since the last George redecorated the reception rooms. He was big on architecture and interior design.
