You should look into luxury watchmaking. It’s the same, but tiny and more complex.

BadBlue has a whole news page dedicated to watches. Rube Goldberg would approve.

Totally cool! I loved the clocks in Europe, made an extra effort to see the town clocks in every city. Venice was under renovation, so (woe is me /sarc) I’ll have to go back. The history about each is wonderful!

I usually find yellow a cheery color too, but not in the spring. Right now everything is covered about a quarter inch deep in yellow pollen and it is disgusting. It’ll be awhile before I go back to liking yellow again.

70-degree high, around here we call that February. 94 yesterday, S/B same today. Got up early to get the row of tomatoes and pepper I put in yesterday watered and fed. Good news is that while I waited longer to put them in they’re looking great, bushy and dark green, and the peppers are more than happy.

Mmmm. Our farmer’s market started a couple of Saturdays ago.

About July I’ll be awishin’ I’d have saved the $$$ instead of doin’ the garden and just bought the stuff at our farmer’s msrket.
I love the market – now the post-Katrina city crowd’s in the town the farmers drive as much as 6 miles to sell their wares.

Love our market. I have a few friends with an abundance of veggies who always share. So I get some at the market and some from friends. I get fresh cheese, bacon, corn on the cob, and smoother thinks (no tea prodding my brain yet) at the market.
It’s also nice because I always run into friends there or plan to meet them there, get lunch or breakfast, listen to music and get to see some of the local artists.
Then there are the ninnies in their $200.00 sandals, carrying $100 market baskets asking the vendors if their vegetables are organic and if the chickens that laid the eggs get a spa day, the vendors almost always just say “Of course mam’ ” 😏.
My favorite though is the gorgeous flowers available!

Yellow is the first color name deaf kids learn. You show them the signs for all the colors, and every one seems to learn yellow first. Hold out your thumb and little finger, palm down, fold the others in, shake it right to left.

My daughter took a sign language class (rather randomly) this past semester & really enjoyed it. She semi-followed the interpreter at her brother’s college graduation ceremony which was fun. I basically know the alphabet & the “I love you” signs only…She was watching the show “Switched at Birth”, which has a major deaf culture aspect, & got interested in sign…

My son and DIL taught my granddaughter a few signs when she was a tiny baby, before she could speak. It was so amazing to watch her ask for what she wanted instead of pointing and grunting like normal. I wish I could have done that with my son. LOL Life would have been easier.

Are your son &/or your granddaughter deaf or hard of hearing?
My son had a tutor who had a severely autistic daughter, who had significant communication challenges but near normal intelligence. She had a picture board that she could use to point to a picture to indicate what she wanted to say. That was pretty eye-opening to me.
I share your sentiment looking back in hindsight in the arena of autism…if only…Thank the Lord we’ve all managed to survive those darker more challenging times!

No, they just had read that it helped an infant to communicate what they want if they used signing.

The residents who have their homes on top of active volcano territory really seem to be assuming that there will not be an actual eruption or, at least, that “nothing will happen right under them – quickly….”
I’ve been watching the video reports from Hawaii on this and it just seems like they have, for the most part, decided to treat this potential like the chances of a bad thunderstorm between 3:00 and 3:30 on a Wednesday afternoon.
Of course, considering the obvious risk, it’s baffling to understand not only WHY they build their homes on an active volcano area, but why they are ALLOWED to build their homes there.
It seems to me there is some kind of disconnect from reality on the part of these residents.

If insurance companies refused to sell insurance in these extreme risk areas, perhaps that would deter foolish behavior. The premiums must be very high as it is.
This is quite interesting on how unique Hawaiian volcano activity is…

Thank you for saying what I have been wondering since the story broke. Why build a house next to an active volcano? I just don’t get it.
And what really bugs me is that if or when that volcano does go, we’ll have to hear about these Poor People who lost everything, and how they’re victims… But they built their houses by an active volcano!! It reminds me of Katrina, how I was supposed to feel bad for those people, but all I was thinking was “why didn’t you evacuate” and “do you think maybe building a city in a soup bowl was a bad idea?”

I was reminded of it because of the history with Mt. St. Helens – when that blew north of me here, in Washington State. There sure were not entire housing developments and public services, block after block, located within the blast area, right on top of lava activity. And Mt. St. Helens, as I understand it, doesn’t have near the active history that this situation in Hawaii has.

Another reality disconnect: guy interviewed on the radio said he paid his house off a few months ago, so he dropped the required insurance. Doh!
LikeLike
It’s also baffling why people choose home in a flood plain. Whenever we considered a house purchase & discovered it required “flood insurance” that was an automatic deal breaker for us…Perhaps these people gamble that they won’t get hit with the big one…

Okay…. I have never been harmed by bacon, it has NOT given me indigestion and I have never eaten it raw (whatever that is?). Of course, I have never placed it on a wound or bruise, because I have modern medicine, which recommends ice or a bandaid. I shall continue eating bacon…..

When I was 12, I had a lump in my left armpit. My mother decided it was a boil and taped a chunk of bacon on it for several days. 🙄 (Finally she took me to the doctor and it was a cyst and the doctor drained a half cup of liquid out of it.)

Thosr pediasures are $2 each, but 1 a day with added instant breakfast for a few days wont hurt.

Swelling in the pharynx will make breathing seem like the old symptoms, but swelling goes down day by day of healing. Also, pain & stiffness from the swelling decrease, so he will feel more like eating each day. Offer frozen stuff: ice or pedialyte chips are hardly bigger than saliva swallows. Each swallow helps get back to normal, reducing stiffness & swelling.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Hey Stellarites,
I’m sharing something I also posted at the TreeHouse…in case anyone might be interested.
I got sidetracked a couple of days ago when Sundance speculated on Stefan Halper & ended up writingp 3 posts that delved into some of the supportive details referred to by Sundance. This is just fyi, for some have found at least the first post to be helpful. Here are the other posts too…
I’m just offering these posts as a bit of “shorthand” on some of the very lengthy references Sundance referred us to in his initial post naming Halper. Blessings to all Treepers & Thank God, literally for President Trump…& for Sundance!”
God Bless all you precious Stellarites too! What a wonderful community you all create here! Hope you are each enjoying the beauties of Spring as we partake of the physical manifestation (in some respects) of the spiritual truth of Resurrection Life!
