Very interesting take on the Saudis….
Thread by @ThomasWictor: “(1) Let’s talk about the Saudi commandos who the “experts” say that I made up. This will explain how they do things.

I suspect that none of the Saudi commandos EVER had to retire to a “safe space” with a puppy and warm chocolate while wasting 4 years in pretense of gaining a higher education and postponing adult responsibilities while living and playing on borrowed Federal Money ….

Where to start…..
A US Special Forces (Army) sioldier will have two MOSs – let’s say the Combat Engineer mentioned – but an alternate one so that a team won’t be short that job if the primary can’t function.
There are five basic MOSs in SF: Weapons Sergeant (‘infantry’), Engineer Sergeant, Medical Sergeant, Communications Sergeant, Operations and Intelligence Sergeant. You don’t really have to already be one to become a SF one, you’ll get trained as SF has its own schools for their versions of these spoecialties. For example the Medical Sergeant will go to a special school that lasts about 18 months and will learn to be far more than a medic – s/he can do minor surgery upon graduation. One of the PAs at my urgent care clinic is an ex-SF Medical sergeant. By the time you’re in a team and operational you’ll have two of these sopecialties and will have been trained to death.
This doesn’t include the rest of the training you’ll get or can volunteer for, there’s a LOT more but the Army doesn’t have specialty badges for all of it.
The word here is ‘train’. They are trained in a number of skills but it’s less about training and more about ongoing training and to what degree and level of skill are they at at any given time? The Musollini-looking guy in the black uniform has a US Master Parachitist Badge on which makes me believe he was stationed with the US Special Forces at Ft Bragg on loan. Those aren’t just ‘jump wings’, he’s had to have had at least 30 jumpos – 15 of which are with full combat gear – four of those must be night jumps with him serving as a jumpmaster, had to have been in 5 mass jumps, graduated from the Jumpmaster Course and been in an airborne unit for 36 months. So he’s been around.
US personnel can wear foreign jump wings too and a lot of airborne lucky enough tobe given the time to do so will meet the qualifications for foreign wings in the foreign schools, it’s more of an friendship-honor thing as after you’ve fallen out of one plane you’ve fallen out of them all.
I’m not selling them short but I’d put my $$$ on the Israeli SF, and they have a ****load of SF units of different types. I’m sure the Saudi SF train with a number of countries’ SFs, including Israeli, but the hosts don’t give away the farm and both countries are feeling out the other’s skills and capabilities – you can bet on that. The Saudi SF are good but ours are great….gotta remember ours have had some 17 years of war to hone their doctrine and skills….take that as an unbiased opinion.

My older son, USAF retired Col now, got his fighter pilot training at Euro-NATO school at Sheppard AFB in Witchita Falls Texas along with a bunch of pilots from around the globe…
They noted in criticisms that The Saudi “princes” all wanted to jockey a jet and be like Tom Cruise wannabes, but when they faced conflict in the air, they turned tail and skeedattled back to Riyadh and safety.
Difference in the rich royals and the field grunts, but the Saudis have for years merely hired mercenaries and servants to take care of their Dirty Stuff.

The Civil War killed an estimated 620,000 soldiers – though the numbers could be higher as there weren’t universally accurate records. There’s also the question of civilian deaths, especially in the South. that equates to 2% of the US’s 1860 population killed. More US soldiers died in the Civil War than in WW I, WW II, Korea and Vietnam combined. The two day battle at Shiloh alone caused 25,000 caasuaklties.
The North managed to fight most of the war on Southern ground, devastating the South, especially the South’s agriculture – there’s not an accurate record of the number of post-war deaths in the South due to starvation and disease. The North recovered and prospered while it continued to punish the South for over a century.

Well, if one of our Confederate minions hadn’t stupidly killed Lincoln, the “Reconstruction” would have been different. I’ve got absolutely no guilt whatsoever about my ancestors being slaveowners. The institution was ugly but “Simon Legree” wasn’t the norm. Not a good thing to have in your family tree, of course, but that was then, this is now.
Southerners were a hardy race. Very few plantations were worked by slaves alone. The entire family worked the farms. Many of us still had access to our land (though the banks were always breathing down our necks), seed, and a horse…and neighbors helped neighbors.
I’d wager that more malnourished people died in the disease-infested slums of the northeast than did in the entirety of the post-war South. The big cities of the South perhaps were different from the countryside and had the same problems as their counterparts in the North.
My family told about roving bands of freed men, women and children with nowhere to go…all of whom were willing to work your land for food and shelter. We never turned anyone away but shared what we could and never had any incidents of retaliation.
My family were Democrats, of course. As Dinesh DeSouza discovered in his research, not a single Republican ever owned a slave in America. I was amazed to learn that.

When you think about it, would it really make sense to physically mistreat slaves? They were expensive and hard working, after all! Other mistreatment was different – being separated from spouses and children, for example.

also, the plantation owners were afraid that the slaves might ban together and rebel and slaughter them, as they outnumbered the white population eventually….thus they restricted movement, education, literacy, social contact…etc…FEAR not hatred not pure bigotry was the basis for the problem….The Western European white citizens did not understand anything about the native culture and temperament of the black African slaves.

Exactly, Stella. It was the wrenching apart of families that was the most horrible. More often than not they never knew what happened to any relative if that person was sold out of state. What a truly awful thing!
Slaveowners generally kept good physical care of the slaves because what they were there for was to work each day. If a person was beaten every day they couldn’t work effectively. It’s not like the slavery of Jews and other persecuted people during WWII where a person was simply worked to death.
The majority of slaves did not try to escape unless the treatment was unbearable. And no one is saying that some were not treated unmercifully by sick and unscrupulous men and disrespected as a human being by both men and women. I’m not trying to put rose-colored glasses onto the situation. The entire issue is a stain upon our nation’s honor.
Personally I believe the U. S. would have done fine economically with slavery being thrown out when the Constitution was written. But since it wasn’t, the only obligation we have today is to not let a similar condition happen again.
And that is the challenge of our time–recognizing that we are, indeed, under threat of losing our freedom and doing as much as we can to stop those who want us as slaves.

New low-cost streaming service, without CNN and ESPN. 37 channels. $16 a month.
http://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2018/04/18/cable-tv-deathwatch-no-espn-no-cnn-no-junk-37-channels-16-month/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social
Why is this news? Let us count the ways…
To begin with, for $16 a month, the networks you can stream live include A&E, AMC, CMT, Comedy Central, Discovery, HGTV, Investigative Discovery, TLC, History, MTV, Nick, and OWN. Basically, by using Philo, your Roku player (or any other similar streaming device) replaces your cable box. You can also enjoy the equivalent of a DVR by saving any show for 30 days.
The $16 price point is huge, other than Sling, which is $20 a month for 25 channels (including CNN, ESPN, and a lot of junk), Philo is less than half of the current alternatives. DirecTV Now costs $35 a month; YouTubeTV, PlayStation Vue, and Hulu Live cost $40. In my opinion, these packages are nothing less than the cable scam moved to streaming.
How does Philo offer 37 channels for just $16? Well, here is the most interesting part…
Philo does not offer news or sports. No CNN, no MSNBC, no ESPN, or ESPN 2. Hallelujah! Except for BBC World News, this is a package strictly made up of entertainment channels.
Also missing are the countless sub-networks, the expensive filler, the junk channels that no one watches but you still pay for simply because greedy entertainment companies force them into your package.
My SlingTV subscription ended four days ago. I got sick of paying $30 a month for basically a bunch of crap. Even the channels that used to be good are broadcasting crap now. Anyway, this is a lower cost alternative, if you are interested!

Most of you know how jerry brown imposed a gas tax on us here in CA. Part of that decree also raised our car registration. I just filled up regular at $3.59/gallon. Next stop up the street was $3.76.
Today I got my registration renewal. Last year was $296. This year: $377.
I also found out that only in CA, if you guve your child a media device, it is illegal for you as a parent to search it. So if a pedophile or other is grooming or harassing your kid in any way you cannot investigate it. Its the CAEMPA.
Also, only in CA, we as parents are not allowed access to our children’s medical records after they turn 13. I dont know if thats only for birth control and sex related stuff or not.
I hope CA gets saved. If we could move we would!

What Andrew McCarthy has to say about Sean Hannity’s name being revealed as a Cohen “client”.
https://www.nationalreview.com/2018/04/sean-hannity-outing-violates-law/
Though they apparently chose not to remind Judge Wood of this longstanding policy, government lawyers are well aware of it. The United States Attorneys Manual admonishes that “in all public filings and proceedings, federal prosecutors should remain sensitive to the privacy and reputation interests of uncharged third-parties.” Unless a person has been formally charged with a crime, not only should the government avoid publicly naming the person; federal prosecutors are further schooled to avoid even an “unnecessarily-specific description.” In other words, while calling Hannity “Client No. 3” would have been proper, even referring to him as “S.H.” would have transgressed the policy. There is no justification for publicizing his full name.
As the manual elaborates, federal courts have held that there is ordinarily “no legitimate government interest served” by publicly naming an uncharged person. That is the case even when charges against the person are being contemplated; a fortiori, there is no excuse for gratuitously embarrassing someone who is suspected of no wrongdoing.
And much more.

Raiding Cohen’s office, all this nonsense is going to bite them in their arrogant behinds. President Trump is relaxed, he refuses to fire Mueller, my bet is that the oligarchs blink.
Naming Sean Hannity was more of their bully tactics. I have a feeling, more and more, that we are going to see some stunning arrests.
Remember President Trump sent Keith Schiller to fire James Comey, but Comey actually found out he was fired while watching a CNN scroll 😂. Comey is still fuming, Crazy Comey is out there talking about President Trump’s penis size, he is talking about all of his feelings, Comey is yammering on and on about President Trump and yet he is so self unaware he says of President Trump “I’m like a breakup he can’t get over.”
Comey is a goat or a moron. I’m guessing that his arrogance has made him both.
Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
One last observation Crazy Comey said he has never seen President Trump laugh. He said he even searched the internet to find Donald Trump genuinely laughing and couldn’t find a single incidence of it.
🤔
Mr. Comey you are a moron.

The president’s campaign announced Tuesday that Trump will hold a rally on April 28 in Michigan.
Trump has skipped the dinner both years he has been in office.
The event in the town of Washington, which is outside Detroit, is slated to begin around the same time as the glitzy gala in the far more well-known Washington, D.C.

The comments about “Fox News” always amuse me. I would reply that people who watch CNN are more likely to answer Yes.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

One of the FB people I follow who lives in the U.P. posted a pic today of the 15′ drift in his yard.

We have those drifts I just didn’t take any pictures of them. And of course the piles of plowed snow! I’m so happy it is April and not October!

I found an article at Hot Air that contains link/video/audio of the pilot’s conversation with the towers yesterday, the SWA plane that was landing with one engine gone. Pretty impressive calmness on the part of the pilot.
