      Morning (again Sand 😊) ! My little ice nation is going to keep me home today, I’m joying my morning tea with a sour cream doughnut and consoling my dog (the white one) who is terrified of the ice when it hits the windows.

          Happy you made it through okay Menagerie 🙂 . The wind blew one of my wooden out door chair over and moved it several feet. The large tree in the back yard is getting encased in ice 😐.

            We are going to dip into the thirties at night the next two days. I keep telling myself it’s here, but even this far south, it’s notional. Can’t seem to commit.

            However, I am looking out at a rain drenched (started again, dadgummit) green world, still full of dogwood blossoms and the azaleas are in full bloom. Rain brings out the colors in the woods, deepening the mysteries hidden in the underbrush and the shadows of the fallen trees deep back up the ridge.

            But I have to go out for a shower (haha!) and I want it to stop.

              I was supposed to go to a baby shower today but they postponed it due to the weather. We as you know from my multiple whines, still have no green. Our church secretary called me and took care of my job today so I wouldn’t have to come in, she said that mass was almost empty.

    Last evening at mass, as went went up for communion, the line was moving very slowly. At the front of the line was a stooped little old man, so tiny and aged it was a wonder he could walk. As I walked past him on my return, he sat, bent and stooped, listing to the right like a slowly sinking ship, and I just had time to notice the pin on his jacket lapel.

    It was an I Like Ike pin.

The answer, in short, is doubling down and blaming the white teachers for unconscious bias against students of color, and putting them through “training”.

    Broward County, Fla., school officials portray as a great success their Obama administration-inspired program offering counseling to students who break the law, instead of having them arrested or expelled. They insist that it played no role in February’s school massacre by Nikolas Cruz. They also claim that in fact juvenile recidivism rates are down and school safety is up, thanks to the program.

    The evidence tells a far different story.

    Broward County juvenile justice division records, federal studies of Broward school district safety and the district’s own internal reporting show that years of “intensive” counseling didn’t just fail to reform repeat offender Cruz, who allegedly went on to shoot and kill 17 people at his high school. Records show such policies have failed to curtail other campus violence and its effects now on the rise in district schools — including fighting, weapons use, bullying and related suicides.

    Meanwhile, murders, armed robberies and other violent felonies committed by children outside of schools have hit record levels, and some see a connection with what’s happening on school grounds. Since the relaxing of discipline, Broward youths have not only brazenly punched out their teachers, but terrorized Broward neighborhoods with drive-by shootings, gang rapes, home invasions and carjackings.

    HOUSTON (AP) — Former first lady Barbara Bush is in “failing health” and won’t seek additional medical treatment, a Bush family spokesman said Sunday.

    “Following a recent series of hospitalizations, and after consulting her family and doctors, Mrs. Bush, now age 92, has decided not to seek additional medical treatment and will instead focus on comfort care,” spokesman Jim McGrath said in a news release.

    McGrath did not elaborate as to the nature of Bush’s health problems. She has been treated for decades for Graves’ disease, which is a thyroid condition.

          Democrats talk about gerrymandering as if they have never done it. Both parties have had the upper hand in redistricting at one time or another. That’s the way it has always been. It can’t be called gerrymandering unless the redistricting is done in an illegal manner, and found to be so by a court of law.

    Comey the silver-tongued street fighter with the help of Stephanopoulos the Clinton urchin did a bang up job of trying to pass off lies and innuendo as well reasoned deductions.

    Comey said absolutely nothing in that interview without qualifying it. It was quite something to watch he and George dance to the devils fiddle.

    Just wow.

    Comey at the end said that Trump is an immoral man who lies about everything, broke the law, tried to coerce the director of the FBI and is a danger to America and all we hold dear.

    What an audacious ass. Truly this man has nothing to lose, though his deft use of legalese will unfortunately fool some viewers, since there is no moving the anti-Trump haters or the people who see the reality of who Comey is and what he is trying to do, so the interview was a waste of time.

    Fodder for the pearl grasping MSM.

    I really, really hope that someone makes a loop of Comey saying “Everybody hates me!!” 😜

    Really, how dare he, is all I have to say.
