So to close out our swan series we have Swan Lake by James Shepard
Of course once they land, underwater according to this Nat’l Geo camera you see this 🙂
So as they fly away in front of the moon with the setting sun reflected on their white feathers, I say “Good night all”! 😉

A strange thing happened late this afternoon after turning on my computer…up popped a notice from Google Chrome that all my settings had been removed. Nothing else…no explanation…but the removal affected my AdBlocker.
Makes me suspicious that Google got annoyed that I wasn’t giving them them proper forced respect regarding their choice of ads for me and simply eliminated the block program or app or whatever it’s called. Ah, maannnn…now, of course, the ads are multitudinous.

The young lady coordinating the protest (from Students for Life), said that at a few of Richards’ appearance on the East Coast (which were only $30, go figure) they had a couple of students buy tickets and go inside, to ask questions. Which I thought a good idea, but our presence outside at Dominican was needed. And I’m not so adept at “on the fly” verbal confrontation. I leave that to others who are gifted that way.
LikeLiked by 2 people
I doubt seriously your presence on the inside, unless accompanied by a large crowd carring baseball bats, would have made any difference. Protesting outside would at least give you access to any press showing up to catalog the unbelievers and your $$$ wouldn’t go to her support.

Actually, I have faith in the impact of devastatingly crafted questions and rebuttals. The TRUTH can be very effective, even with what appears to be closed minds. Repeating the truth, over and over.
And calmness is extremely important, too; unshakeability. I have much to learn in that area–I get shook easily, so am better as physical backup/silent witness/newsbringer. Unless God gives me the words, which he has sometimes. Then I just go with it.

Did you read about the Jesuit college (of course it’s the scandal causing apostate Jesuits) that is having a Pride Prom? I think it’s Marquette.
I haven’t read your article linked yet, but I do hope it’s true and they have booted them. Also, if any money from the Church established that school, they need to make them buy the property.
I’m furious and sick of bishops who have such grave responsibilities for souls playing politics with doctrine and morals and allowing anything to happen in these schools. Get off your supported by the faithful overfed butts and do your avowed job.

Pygmy Owl (Glaucidium Gnoma, or Glaucidium Californicum) are part of the genus, Glaucidium. Pygmy Owls are quite small, and most of their species are nocturnal, and they mainly hunt large insects and other small prey. Glaucidium Gnoma owls are diurnal, and are active at dawn and dusk.

I talked with my SIL in Sioux Falls, SD yesterday. They had full scale blizzard conditions, expected to continue until overnight. Perhaps it will start warming a bit by tomorrow. It was in the 20s yesterday. At least it wasn’t below zero as winter blizzards often are. Spring blizzards are more tolerable, although they leave prodigious amounts of ice on the streets since they often begin when temps are near or just above 32. What a mess it makes.
Somewhere I have a photo taken on our MN deck one May day that documents about 10″ inch vertical snow accumulation on every horizontal surface, like deck rails, table, and chairs. That was quiet snowfall – just kept coming.

Syrian Targets
Middle East Perspectives by Rick Francona·Friday, April 13, 2018
Syria military sources stated that American strikes that lasted for at least an hour targeted upwards of 10 locations in Syria, most of them concentrated in the Damascus and its suburbs, in addition to Homs in the center of the country.
According to the military sources the following areas were targeted:
1. 105th Republican Guard Brigade
2. Air Defense Base, Qasiyun Mountain, Damascus
3. Al-Mazzah Air Base
4. Al-Dumayr air base
5. Scientific Research Center, Barzah, Damascus
6. Scientific Research Center, Jamariyah, Damascus suburbs
7. 41st Special Forces Brigade
8. Military sites near al-Ruhaybah in the Eastern al-Qalamun in the Damscus suburbs
9. Sites in al-Kiswah – Damascus suburbs
=================
My notes:
1. Primary regime protection unit in Damascus, suspected of using chemical weapons
2. Huge facility overlooking Damascus, used in 2013 to launch chemicals into the eastern suburb
3. Air base in southern section of Damascus – all sorts of special units there, likely chemicals as well
4. Major air base about 25 miles northeast of Damascus – helicopters probably operated from here
5. Primary R&D facility for advanced weapons
6. Primary R&D facility for advanced weapons
7. Elite commando unit
8. Numerous missile bases, and a chemical weapons storage area
9. Major air/air defense command and control center

Map provided by the Pentagon shedding more light into the recent US-led airstrikes against Bashar Assad’s forces in #Syria.

My sources in #Syria indicate despite the #Iran/Assad propaganda machine’s claims, Russia took no action against cruise missiles in the US-led airstrike & only protected its bases in Tartus & Khmeimim of Latakia Province.

#BREAKING
‘Large part’ of #Syria’s chemical arsenal has been destroyed, Paris says, adding ‘solid intelligence’ shows Assad regime was behind the #Douma chemical attack
LikeLiked by 2 people
Pentagon admitted yesterday that they ‘coordinated’ with Russia on flight paths sothat Russian assets wouldfn’t be hit – so it appears we hit a face-saving agreement with Russia that allowed us to waste a few hundred million in attack platforms against Syrian targets the Russians approved of. Russians have moved frontline defense equipment bloth on and offshore that could have made the cruise missile’s job a lot harder…but didn’t…hmmmmmm.
‘Large part of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal has been destroyed’ – great, gave allied propagandist apologist spinmeisters a green opportunity to recycle 2014 headlines, no trees killed in the making of bthis BS. Come on now, they are RUSSIAN stockpiles, Syrians couldn’t have made them unless they somehow had precursor chemicals stashed the 2014 clown and pony show missed OR they managed to buy them on the open market right under NATO’s nose. Or the Russians provided them.
Making Sarin requires specialized chemical and equipment that a omniscient UN and NATO watchdog, not to mention NGOs, are paid to monitor – they wouldn’t let us down would they? OK, there is a way around that specialized equipment stuff BUT…that’s uniquely Russian too. Gimme a break.
As I’ve been bouncing around nextdoor the Russians do not share our Mother Teresa vioew of chemical weapons and civilian casualties. They have a long line of use of chemical/bio weapons from WWII to today that we conveniently ignore – more denial. Their military doctrine treats WMDs as just another round of ammunition to be used as necessary, not something that takes great soul searching and political consensus – during the Cold War Russian firld Army commanders were authorized to individually authorize the use of tactical nuclear weapons. In Afghanistan and Vietnam there was abundant evidence of the use of chem weapons while Grozny should stand as proof that civilian casualties are of no concern to Russian commanders.

I gotta plan, I’m gonna finish this here pot of coffee and deal with whatever happens, that’s what we do up here. Chainsaws are up, tractors are fueled and we’ll get whast we get. This is April in the South, those of us who live out in the sticks and don’t have the luxury of a phalanx of public servants at our beck and call just gotta do it ourselves.

A friend and I have discussed that all this hysteria over every little bit of weather that isn’t clear and sunny or more tempestuous than a spring rain just makes people less sensitive to severe weather alerts that they need to take seriously. He cited this thing about naming winter storms as an example. I have to agree.

well…when friends came over and you had to open a can, did you hide in the kitchen and make a hummmmmmmmmm noise while opening the can to keep them from thinking you were poor and classless without all the demanded consumer appliance toys that you HAD to have to be socially acceptable?
As a child, we used to visit family in what is known as Big Thicket Country, the Deep East Texas area near Louisiana and Beaumont, where no one money, class, or gave a damn about either, and were apt to go out into the back yard and whack one of the loose chicken running loose and wring a neck, slit a throat, and hang upside down from the closeline , in order to prepare dinner for the men when they got home from work.
Anyway, my uncle got into the LPG or Propane distribution business, and some oil stuff, and made a little money, so he bought a Cadillac sorta to show everyone that relatively speaking…he had Arrived a tad….but cheapo did not buy power windows, still had the crank up and down dudes……but all us KIDS understood that this was definitely “DECLASSE” so if we went in the car to a drive in burger joint….when we rolled the windows, up or down, we hid the manual cranking action while we loudly hummed, “hmmmmmmmmmmm” during the window movement to let folks understand that we were not rubes from the sticks…..so to speak…..

Good work, czar! I like how you think (and plan)!
We’ve got a gorgeous blue-sky day here, bright sun gleaming brilliantly on the ever-decreasing snow pack. About a third of the yard is down to grass. Probably another 2 weeks before the snow is gone. Yay spring!

We went past spring a few back but from Gaia’s bag of tricks we’re looking at a 39-degree or so temp Sunday nite into Monday.
I’m buying my vegetable sets as I see them because the jumpier members of the communiuty have been putting their sets in and the lower-than-50 nights are stunting them – thos 39er, ‘specially if it carries frost, will do ’em in.
These perpetual dreamers frequently do this and that depletes the stock of plants the growers started in November-December, leaving us with later season plantettes that frerquently disappoint. Our garage smells like tomato plants but that ain’t all bad. Spring…a figment of poets’ imaginations.

I love the smell of tomato plants. Can’t grow a decent tomato in Alaska, even with a greenhouse.

I tried to imagine a combination of pickled bologna, a wad of pistachios, a block of sharp cheddar, and a full bodied lager all mixed up with a stomach filled with acid and mixed by the random and oft violent rhythm of a vessel sailing the deep water….and I had to conclude that the chemistry was a natural source for massive production of methane gas……

We have a man running for governor that is wanting to abolish abortion in Oklahoma by making it be a murder charge. He’s answering questions about the SCOTUS with saying if Colorado can thumb their nose at the federal government and legalizing pot then why does any state have to follow a ruling by a court that made murder legal 45 years ago?
Some are calling him a loon, others are 100% behind him.

I look at it this way, if a baby is 15 minutes old and is killed by the mother or doctor, they will be charged with murder. So what is the difference?
It’s kind of funny to me those that say they’re pro-life but that this is crazy and can’t be done or they don’t want to throw mothers in jail. Are you really pro-life if you won’t tell the federal government we refuse to allow babies to be murdered? Are you really pro-life if you don’t want murder punished?

Question: does the First Amendment protect licentious and/or prururient speech?
I ask because I’m trying make sense of what appears to be an incredibly stupid argument put forth next door, that Prez Trump’s signing of a bill that will help stop sex slave trafficking through the Internet somehow infringes on freedom of speech.
I have several problems with this, the main one being the argument makes no sense to me.

Have we gotten down to Sex is a First Amendment Right now?
How about pop corn eating as an element of free expression……
….and farting in the living room as well?
I think any form of slavery is prohibited by the 14th….and that includes trafficking in procuring any person for an unagreed upon act of coerced servitude.

The argument was “what if they choose to do it?!” to which my response would have been “how can you prove that they chose to do it.”
But what I really wanted to ask was something that probably would have started a forum fire, so I didn’t. I don’t know but I have begun to suspect that this person’s main concern isn’t the protection of free speech.
I’m not allowed to yell “Fire” in a crowded venue, either. Hm. Maybe there are limits to frees speech for a reason.

Thread pic is a sweet car. Only thing is: pic title in the link says Maserati. Logos on the car’s nose and wheels say Peugeot. I can’t figure out from wiki or Peugeot what concept this was, but I like it.
In other news, apparently there was a false flag in the UK:

Turns out the chemical used was never used by Russia, but was by the US and NATO states. Oh, and it doesn’t actually work. That should have been a red flag, right there, that it wasn’t Russia.

What It’s Like to Fly in Etihad’s First Class “Apartment”
https://www.cntraveler.com/galleries/2015-04-29/what-its-like-to-fly-etihad-first-class-apartment
Etihad Airways’ “First Apartment” doesn’t sound like an airplane seat at all. The one-room suite on select Airbus A380 routes promises privacy and extraordinarily personalized service at cruising altitude. Even though a higher class exists—the $20,000 three-room “Residence”—the First Apartment is the more revolutionary of the two: a flying suite that’s attainable. I bought a ticket to see it for myself.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
