I had planned to go to the capitol today, but after making calls yesterday and being told it was doubtful I would be able to see them I figured it would be a waste of time.
They can only talk to teachers I guess and as I’m just a lobby of one they only want to talk to me when they want my vote.
They’re voting today on more “revenue” and thanking teachers for that.

So I guess instead I will bake brownies with my little man. First thing this morning he was calling me and asking if we could cook brownies. lol

He has loved to help his Nanny cook since before he could walk.
At least twice a week now he wants us to cook something. He’s a pretty smart boy and is learning to read recipes and is getting to the point he can almost do it all himself.

He also loves to cook spaghetti sauce and chili. He cracks me up because he tastes it and tells me, “it probably needs more salt, basil, etc.” He’s good at knowing what it needs as well.
I figure it won’t be long and he will stop wanting to cook with Nanny, so I never tell him no. lol

    What kids today are learning:

—– The louder you are the more attention you get!
—– Ad hominem attacks win arguments!
—– Demonizing everyone you disagree with is okay!
—– Being offended makes you right!
—– And doing all of the above makes you famous!

Just got this in an email from David Horowitz:

Can you imagine going over the alphabet with your six-year-old, and instead of them saying that C was for “cookie” or “cat” that C was for counter-corporate vultures?

Well, thanks to a book called “A is for Activist” and Leftist teachers taking it upon themselves to indoctrinate your children — that’s exactly what’s happening.

Children can’t even learn the alphabet anymore without teachers trying to brainwash them.

    They’re learning F is for Feminist…
    …L is for LGBT…
And X is for Malcolm X.

It won’t be long before they’re learning F is for Farrakhan!

I wonder what the indoctrinators did say F is for, I’m sure they would have used Farrakhan had they thought of it.

Received the following email this morning, about Hillsdale College’s new course:

    Fellow American,

Last year, we marked the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. As you may know, the Protestant Reformation began when German theologian Martin Luther (1483-1546) nailed his 95 theses on the church door at Wittenberg. Luther believed that justification comes by faith alone. For Luther, good works do not earn a place with God. Rather, good works are a natural product of the believer’s love for God.

The Reformation is one of several topics covered in Hillsdale College’s new, free online course, “Theology 101: The Western Theological Tradition.” This course will also cover topics such as:

    The God of Grace in Judaism and the Hebrew Bible;
    Thomas Aquinas on Nature, Grace and Life in God;
    Christianity and the Enlightenment;
    and more…

I introduce the course with a lecture on “Theology at Hillsdale College.” Three of my colleagues in the Philosophy & Religion department-Thomas Burke, Jordan Wales, and Donald Westblade-teach the remainder of the course. These professors understand the subject deeply, and I trust you will find their lectures engaging and educational.

I invite you to study the history of Christianity in this free online course, and hope you will enjoy it.

Start your course right now >>

I sent a little bit too. I came out ahead on taxes this year, but I don’t have much income outside of Social Security – just what I withdraw from my 401K, which is so far the minimum, and a tiny bit that I earn from this blog (it isn’t much).

I rolled over two annuinities last year and didn’t get 1099’s from them. I also pulled out some of the money because I had gotten in debt (remember, my poor little doggie had a lot of problems and it cost about $2000), not much, but I didn’t want to pay the interest. Now, I have to explain to the IRS what happened. The guy doing my taxes said a lot of people have a problem with one of the financial companies’ paperwork I was dealing with. They send out a lot of info, but it doesn’t seem to answer the questions you have.

    More on the Second Amendment….

Is the Second Amendment for Just the Militia?
    By William Sullivan – April 5, 2018
Leftists lost this battle long ago, because suggesting that the Second Amendment applies only to protect a “state-sponsored militia” and not “the people” was always a losing battle when fought on the grounds of reason.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

    Now, this is interesting.

At Last, a Backlash against Federal Spending

    https://outline.com/4dfqZh

…While the budget required 60 votes in the Senate and therefore Democratic support, a “rescission” bill to repeal the spending increases needs only a simple majority in each house. The plan was advanced last week in a column by the Journal’s Kimberley A. Strassel:

It’s a chance for Republicans to honor their promises of spending restraint and redeem themselves with a base turned off by the omnibus blowout. It’s an opening for the GOP to highlight the degree to which Democrats used the bill to hold the military hostage to their own domestic boondoggles. And it’s a chance for Mr. Trump to present himself again as an outsider, willing to use unconventional means to change Washington’s spending culture.

It’s called the 1974 Impoundment Act, which allows the president to order the rescission of specific funds, so long as Congress approves those cuts within 45 days. …

This is a great article. I think I shared it when it was first published in January, but it’s good enough to read again:

What I Learned in the Peace Corps in Africa: Trump Is Right

… Life was placid, with no danger, except to your health. That danger was considerable, because it was, in the words of the Peace Corps doctor, “a fecalized environment.”

In plain English: s— is everywhere. People defecate on the open ground, and the feces is blown with the dust – onto you, your clothes, your food, the water. He warned us the first day of training: do not even touch water. Human feces carries parasites that bore through your skin and cause organ failure.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that a few decades later, liberals would be pushing the lie that Western civilization is no better than a third-world country. Or would teach two generations of our kids that loving your own culture and wanting to preserve it are racism.

Last time I was in Paris, I saw a beautiful African woman in a grand boubou have her child defecate on the sidewalk next to Notre Dame Cathedral. The French police officer, ten steps from her, turned his head not to see.

I have seen. I am not turning my head and pretending unpleasant things are not true…

I was reading that CNN found a Texas border sheriff who says military is not needed on the border. I looked up the county and the sheriff, his county was 95% Hispanic in 2010, 91% of citizens speak Spanish in the home. It’s one of the poorest counties in the U.S. He’s a democrat, surprise, the county is also majority democrat. He also sued Texas over the sanctuary cities bill.

Now I wonder why he wouldn’t want the military at the border.
