Since the Left is going to persecute you anyway, you might as well be bold in proclaiming both your political and your Christian faith beliefs.

People who go that extra mile remind me of this verse:
“We all know that when there’s a race, all the runners bolt for the finish line, but only one will take the prize. When you run, run for the prize! Athletes in training are very strict with themselves, exercising self-control over desires, and for what? For a wreath that soon withers or is crushed or simply forgotten. That is not our race. We run for the crown that we will wear for eternity.” – I Corinthians 9:24-25

Todays painting is “Sunrise Sunset” by Tom Nachreiner. It’s a double duty painting!

To go with the reds and yellow I chose this vintage Easter card:

I especially liked the sentiment on this card. This was the one that was sent as a postcard with the black wavy lines on the lower left front along with dirty smudge marks, but it actually was easier than others to clean up.

Have a good night’s sleep everyone – I’m off to get some myself 🙂

Stella, let’s hope your chart inspired me, and it sticks. I’ve been dumping crap all week. Even going at an old woman’s pace, I’m still making fair progress, and it seems like the more I do, the more I want to do.

Still though, I haven’t tackled the books, or the spare bedroom which has become a little bit of a catch all room. I am really beginning to wonder “Why the heck did I buy that?” a lot though.

I’m trying to decide if it would be worth the trouble. I would have to take all the stuff to my son’s house to do it. Our driveway snakes a quarter mile up a ridge, you can’t see if someone is coming up it, and it would be impossible to do it here, so no way to have people coming and going. There is not room to do it at the bottom, no parking, nothing but ditches.

Today I meet with a plumber and hopefully determine that water can be brought into the original bank building. Without water, the project dies and since I was informed last night that I’ll need to be out of this house in 12 more days, I’m pretty much faced with all or nothing based on this one determination of access to water….wish me luck.

Or you could get a small Rennai tankless and have it provide you hot water, you can mount it wherever and have it moved someplace permanent later. We have had a home-size one for ten years now and wouldn’t trade it.

AsI forgot and Czarina reminded, it churns out hot water as long as the tap’s on. I first ran into one inGermany in the early 60s, every sink and tub had one mounted over it as it was much cheaper than having an electric or gas heater heat water 24/7 when you’re not using it. Actually takes just about as long t get hot water from the tankless to your tap as it does from a tank – there’s a slight difference but it’s really negligible when you consider the energy savings in your pocketbook. I won’t have another tank.

What he didn’t explain is that a tankless water heater just starts making hot water & keeps making it as long as the hot water tap is open. You can’t run out of hot water, even if several people are using it at the same time or one after the other.

People are so stupid. The news media are talking about hog farmers saying the tariff is crashing hog prices. Hog prices have been falling for a long time and anyone with a brain knows they had not hit bottom yet. They didn’t just drop yesterday.
In addition China put a tariff on themselves as they bought out Smithfield.

    • czarowniczy says:

China pays some 70% more, wholesale, for pork from the US than the wholesale buyer pays here, reflecting prloduction and sellers’ fees. That tariff could make the pork shipped from US owned Chinese producers too expensive for Chinese buyers to swallow so pork prices here may well drop as they alrerady have pork in the processing chain and any hiccups cause problems in the production chain.

When hog prices went through the roof, the highest I had ever seen them, it was due to a strange disease that was killing all the babies.
This disease started right after Chinese businessmen came to tour hog farms, when they were in negotiations to buy Smithfield.

I don’t buy pork from the grocery store, but I check out prices from time to time and haven’t seen the prices reflect the low hog prices. I have seen that Smithfield is branching out and now has more than just ham in the stores. I honestly don’t know what their roasts and pork chops are, but it doesn’t look like pork.

I keep goin g back to studies done by the government many years ago on how our commercial livestock coyld be attacked by an enemy using biologiocal agents. As the various areas the types of stock are raised/finished in are rather concentrated an introduced agent could travel quickly, the studies on Newcastle disease were particularly interesting.
Russia had a robust, to be kind, biowar program and there’s no reason to think the Chinese aren’t working in that area also. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised had they used an agent to help work out a sale…then there was that huge scam with the AgFeed stock…

I can’t believe this crap. I’m not a lawyer and they keep claiming it’s not a strike, but they’re shutting schools down as long as they please, tell me how that is not a strike? It is illegal to do so. Many schools have already been closed all week and now they’re already planning on going into a second week. Plus, they’re opening up the school for breakfast and lunch, shouldn’t that have some federal regulations?

Here is what our law says:
Section 1078. Agreed Procedure for Resolving Impasses Exclusive – Strikes Forbidden.
The procedure provided for herein for resolving impasses shall be the exclusive recourse of the organization. It shall be illegal for the organization to strike or threaten to strike as a means of resolving differences with the board of education. Any member of an organization engaging in a strike shall be denied the full amount of his wages during the period of such violation. If the organization or its members engage in a strike, then the organization shall cease to be recognized as representative of the unit and the school district shall be relieved of the duty to negotiate with such organization or its representatives. Spiro Public Schools

    Parents/Guardians

Due to the lack of a long term funding solution by the Oklahoma Legislature during the week of April 2nd — April 5th, Spiro Public Schools will not be in session Monday April 9th and until further notification. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. There has been ample time to address the long term funding issues of the state, now we must stand in the gap for our students. If school is not in session, breakfast will be served from 7:30am-8:00am and lunch from 11:00-12:00. We have attached a list of possible ways we will use to notify you if there is a change to the situation allowing us to return to school. We do not take this step lightly and pray there is a solution quickly. Thank you for your support and understanding during these trying times.

I say “fine, let ’em strike, but no pay for every day they’re out”. And since the parents are inconvenienced by kids having to make up days they missed let parents sue for damages caused by having to change vacation reservations due to teachers strike that isn’t a strike.

That would be great, but they aren’t losing a dime.
The kids they claim to be doing this for will be hurt though as the clock is ticking on getting testing done. That is what has got a bunch of schools to open back up, because they also lose federal funding if they don’t test. At this point I hope they keep screwing around as they also have to get their 180 days in an allotted time, if they don’t do that then their school loses their accreditation.

I’m seeing some parents that are already threatening to sue if their kids miss testing and suing for the schools using the buses to bus teachers to OKC.

I had to laugh at a teacher’s husband who whined on FB that teachers came up with this on their own “for the kids.” The union had nothing to do with it.
He then went on to whine that “you people” are trying to turn family against family and friends against friends while teachers are fighting for “your kids.”

Someone attempted to explain the history of war in this country and it was always the government who turned brother against brother. When taxpayers have went to the ballot box year after year and said no to taxes for public schools and teachers throw a tantrum and the legislature goes against the people they turned brother against brother. You then have to pick a side. Teachers were the first to turn against the people, some of whom were their family and friends. They refused to take no for an answer.
They want to pick a fight and now cry when the people fight back. Don’t start a war you’re not willing to fight.

I also blame the school boards, if the school boards had voted for them to keep their rears in school they would have had no choice.
They’re also wrong on it being statewide, to give credit where credit is due, roughly half of the school districts did tell them no.
Others that allowed it for a day told them to get back to class so kids could do testing.

In the end they’re only hurting themselves. They’re risking federal funding for not only their school but the entire state. I guess the feds take those tests seriously.
Social media is blowing up with pictures and videos of them in expensive restaurants drinking expensive alcoholic drinks. I guess those too lazy to go to OKC should have kept picketing the court houses and town halls. They seemed to have started getting hungry and thirsty while picketing in front of restaurants.
Local talk radio has went from about 50/50 to 10 to 1 against teachers.
Parents are showing on social media that they lie about old torn up text books. Telling how their school doesn’t even use text books anymore and instead kids are provided with new tablets every year.
Some are even showing old posts and tweets by teachers during the time they should have been teaching students complaining about their stupid students who don’t know how to use an app. I bet they’re regretting friending parents and students now. Now those parents have people paying attention and regular folks are learning there are a lot of teachers having apps teach kids.

I hope they stay out, I hope they miss their testing deadline and are not able to get their 180 days in before the end of the fiscal year.

If we had an education department with any balls they would enforce the law. The statute says teachers can’t strike and schools cannot close school unless it’s an emergency. They can’t shorten the year without written permission from the state department.

After all that their raise isn’t written in concrete, it can always be revoked. Just like the tax increase that is supposed to fund it, which if they weren’t so damn stupid they would read the bill. Only a small percentage is going into the education fund. So if teachers keep their raise, the school will have less money to spend on everything else.
It’s getting to the point now where I find it all funny.

Teachers are now displaying such nice, respectful signs. Hand drawn pics of giving the finger and others aren’t shy they’re just writing it out.
They’re so cute, I especially like the 3rd grade mentality of their Harry Potter and Elsa signs.

They keep tearing stuff up, phoning in death threats to congress. Our highway patrol are off the highways because they’re having to help control them.

Each time I see another parent say they’ve had enough or this has opened their eyes and their child is not going back to public school, it makes me laugh harder.

Their new demand. BTW, everyone living in a red state better be prepared, I saw on their private group the NEA is taking this to every red state. They better hurry the school year is about over. lol

They were dancing and rocking to a Rihanna rap song. Teachers are actually posting the video proud that they yelled, “What we do want, Money!”
Even some on their side are telling them how horrible it looks to Conservative Christians in this state and to take it down.

Lyrics to what they were proud of.

This is Oklahoma, I don’t think they get that. I knew we had some dumb teachers in this state, I just didn’t realize how dumb they actually are.

No, these were actually mainly white men and women and some were a little large to be moving like they were moving.

They now have a student occupation planned and Women in Black are showing up Monday. It looks like Soros is showing who is really behind this. I’ve tried to talk to a few teachers who I thought were rational about what this is really about. They’re too blind to see what liberals are doing. They just scream, “this is the teachers who did this because we’re tired of kids being left behind.”

All they care about is they give them the money.
You can’t have a rational conversation with them. You point out with facts that it’s not true the schools have gotten less money over the last 10 years and they scream, “it is too, you’re not on the front lines.” You point out employees being paid as certified teachers who never teach one child or a class and they scream, “you don’t know what you’re talking about we having reading specialists, speech therapists, math specialists, language specialists, science specialists who don’t have a class.” (BTW with all these specialists, what do we need teachers for?) You point out schools are carrying 15% up to 50% of their revenue over to the next year and they scream, “they are required to carry money over.” You tell them even other teachers are telling them it’s went too far and they yell, “they’re traitors.” One mother was trying to tell them how her kids were treated because her and their father said on FB that administration costs are too high. They called her a liar and asked why she didn’t go to the principal. She told them she did go to the principal and superintendent and was told it was unacceptable and they would talk to them, but she needed to understand the stress teachers were under. So then she showed a copy of her certified letter sent to the school board documenting what was said to her 12 year old son, 10 year old daughter and 7 year old daughter. Pointing out it wasn’t one bad seed, but a total of 7 different teachers. They told her if she didn’t like it then maybe she should keep her mouth shut and take her kids out of school. She told them if they bothered to read her letter she informed them she had done just that and enrolled them into an online school for the remainder of the year so that her kids could do their state testing because their school was closed. Also that she had hired a lawyer.

I’ve never wanted to totally destroy public education before, but I’m too that point. Although, I think at least in this state they’re going to do it for me.

I think that may be public educations’ only hope to become again what it was supposed to be. Clean house and start over.

In one way the teachers did a good thing, they made people pay attention. More and more people are looking at the revenue schools are actually receiving and how much they’re spending. They’re becoming aware how much they’re spending on administration and becoming aware of all the titles on the payroll they don’t even know what their job description is. They’re breaking it down what teachers get paid per hour. How much money they aren’t spending.
Basically, they’re doing the job the legislature should have done and learning they’re being lied to.

Just my little small part of digging into the numbers and posting them on FB has changed the opinion of at least a dozen people, including two teachers. The teachers it took showing them how many hours these other professions work to make what they make and showing them how out of those salaries they pay for their benefits. Plus showing them how much their districts didn’t spend when they could have given them a raise.

Now the majority of them and especially those that are the loudest, will never change their opinion. All they can do is call me a f… lying b…. who hates f…. children and they pray I die. I just laugh at them and thank them for writing that and it has been saved, printed and being sent electronically and hard copy to their school board. They even make it easy to locate their school as they post it on FB.

I’m losing friends and family, but I didn’t start this and I have not been disrespectful to one person. All I have done is post the facts. They are the ones who sent their lynch mob after me.
My husband told me to block them and I told him I wasn’t going to do that, I want them to hang themselves. Most are doing it through PM, I guess they think that’s really private. lol

I had a cousin from out of state call me and tell me they’ve even been seeing this on their news and that they look and act like BLM without the looting and burning. I told her they keep escalating with their mob mentality so it probably won’t be long.

                    I think I’ve made a lot of enemies. 🙂

I’m not the only one though, a good friend of the family, another Grandma is getting it even worse than I am. She’s been commenting on news articles and has attracted a lot of people.

She just a little while ago posted that if they think they can bully her to shut up they obviously don’t know what she’s made of. She’s been taking screen shots of everything and posting it on her page. She’s putting them on notice that she’s paying to put ads with their words in every single one of their cities. That they don’t deserve one cent of taxpayers money and aren’t fit to sit in a room with a pack of dogs, much less a classroom with children. She finished her rant with, “You wanted to pick a fight, well this old lady isn’t a melting snowflake and I don’t back down!”

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
