Over the last few years I’ve given a number of prints from my collection to family members and am presently pruning the hoard again. These are two of Jules Cheret’s works I’m contemplating sending back with my nephew when he visits next month…

      Exposition – Plate 97 – 1898

      Saxoleine – Plate 145 – 1899

Picking and choosing what goes to which person is fun…two nieces and two nephews, their children and grandchildren. The little ones don’t get any art, of course, but I might send some of my toys for them.

The challenge is what to do with the large paintings I’ve got no wall space for now. They are stored in a closet. I was contemplating putting them to auction, but can’t part with them yet. A van would be necessary for transport and generally when my nephew comes to see me, he rents a smaller car for gas mileage savings. And you don’t want to send big items across the border in case Customs gets antsy.

When my sister’s children were small and into teen years each birthday and Christmas I’d wrap and pack up gifts with a meticulous itemization of contents. Sis said the first thing she always did was to rip off the Customs form without looking at it to maintain the surprise.

Did not remember they were in another country. If the painting canvases can be removed, would they crack if rolled on a tube? I have bought various things (ex fabric), and they make shipping tubes just for that.

Unfortunately, they can’t be rolled. For one of the artworks the frame is part of the art and is like a large wood and plastic box. He signed the frame, too, on the back.

’60 Minutes’, back in the days when it had a wee bit of spine, did a piece on how the UN was missing and unable to account for BILLIONS of dollars. It also mentioned how UN auditors are only beat out by the Italian government by turnover. Then we have the fraud investigation into Kofi Annan’a son Kujo…errr Kojo, who allegedly scammed boatloads of money but investigators could never find anything…

The so-called midterm ‘blue wave’ forced to contend with real life data

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/03/the-so-called-midterm-blue-wave-forced-to-contend-with-real-life-data/

Meanwhile, a report released by the Brennan Center for Justice throws some serious shade at the blue wave wish-casting. According to that report, Democrats would have to, “to win the national popular vote for congressional districts by a nearly 11 percentage point margin over Republicans to gain more than the roughly two dozen seats they need to flip control of the Republican-led chamber,” according to the AP. No such feat has been achieved in the last 40 years.

Democrats are blaming Republican gerrymandering, but excuses don’t win elections.

    From the AP:

The report projects that Democrats would need to win the national popular vote for congressional districts by a nearly 11 percentage point margin over Republicans to gain more than the roughly two dozen seats they need to flip control of the Republican-led chamber.

That would take more than the typical Democratic wave that history suggests would occur for the party out of power during a midterm election.

“It would be the equivalent of a tsunami,” said Michael Li, a senior counsel who heads up redistricting work for the center, which is based at New York University School of Law. “Democrats would have to win larger than any sort of recent midterm wave — almost double what they got in 2006 — in order to win a narrow majority.”

Democrats have blatant cheating, anger at Hillary’s loss, anger at President Trump’s victory, and various other emotional triggers going for them.

President Trump knows elections are generally won on emotion not facts we have a lot of emotional charge working against us, the numbers and facts are with us.

The fact that President Trump is methodically causing a civil war between the democrat voters and the democrat oligarchs is beautiful.

I believe we will see a September surprise that will throw the democrat criminals from Huma to Brennan to Obama to Clinton and on and on into avoid the gallows mode. I expect total chaos. I could be wrong but I have a pretty good track record when I am keeping up with things.

That video of the interview with him that was taken down from youtube where he is verbally abusing his parent, and thinking that’s GOOD, is sickening. He must be totally screwed up to think that way. What is scary is he is not the only one who thinks this way, and unless there is pushback to the glorification of these useful idiots, it will only get worse. I used to wonder how the “brownshirts” were manipulated into turning into horrid creatures turning in their parents, after seeing that video interview, now I know. Our side has to open our mouths and push back.

Obviously….The best thing to do to combat chronic abusers and disregarders of the law(like the law against Murder) is to……..pass another Law!…..Genius!!!…… but before we pass this law we’re going to denigrate the memory and curse ourselves by exploiting the death of 16 of our fellow students for a few Facebook likes and some media attention….and look how well civil rights abuses as it concerns firearms helped to protect me and my friends in Paris!!!!! This almost sounds like the plan of like a kid maybe like a high school student….!. Oh wait that’s right…. Most Rat victories are due to gerrymandering, it’s what they use instead of acceptable political policy.
Our county has 5 supervisors (commissioners). As the county is only about 12% black, and this is Mississippi where a white commissioner couldn’t POSSIBLY represent a black constituency we have a black gerrymandered district – and we’re in it. The district snakes, wriggles ans eeks up and down the centerline of roads, through fields and around tree stumps. If our house had been built a few more feet to the north we’d be in another district but the line oozes down a neighbor’s drive and through one of our fields.
Now for me to say that I don’t feel a black supervisor could represent me – especially as I live in Mississippi, the prog embodyment of evil and racism, would be racist, while it’s perfectly OK for the black residents to say a white supervisor lacks the whatever to represent them. Actually the present black supervisor and his black predecessor have served me well…but then being whom I am and living in Mississippi I’m probably just saying that to cover up my being ac racist.

Today we have “Little Hunter” also by J F Kernan. I almost think the bottom of the image may be cropped, but it is the only image of the painting I could find.

Quite a difference to the nonsense we see today. Maybe if these snowflakes had to hunt to get additional food for the family, they would think differently. For hundreds of years people understood a gun was just a hunk of metal and wood that would sit and rust and deteriorate unless you cared for it. Today these delusional people think the inatimate object is itself evil, which is animism, and it’s rise is another consequence of the decline of Christianity.

I really like both the artwork, and the image – Enjoy!

Hi everyone. Well all of us are still sick. Husband and kiddo on antibiotics and better. Kiddo having been sick for 7 weeks through Christmas plus this, he will be getting a lot of attention from his allergist. Sick too much so they have to do a bunch of xrays, patch test his back, probably bloodwork. I hope he doesnt have to see ENT and be scoped and end up with any surgery. Wont know for a few weeks.
Maybe just have to power through being a sick kid until his immune system gets stronger.
Just have to spend Easter break getting well. Hopefully can do fun stuff next weekend, egg hunt on Sunday.
    Husband recovering too.
I had a bad fever the other night. On top of my initial problem it wasnt fun but im not as sick as they were. I think the fever killed off a lot of whatever this is. Mommy has to power through it!

Have you had your house tested for mold? Mold can cause continual nasal/bronchial, skin, allergies, etc illnesses. There are also a couple of other allergens that cause it, but mold is the most common. Mold can hide behind walls, and it comes in all colors, white, gray, red, yellow, aqua, not just black and green. If there is mold, the illnesses will continue to comeback, even with meds. Don’t mean to be Debbie Downer, but mold has ruined many years of my life.

Thats a concern but not too bad. We have never seen any, but the way it works in CA, if you test and find any, it has to be gutted and repaired. Now, we can do it if the govt doesnt interfere but they do. Kiddo has tree pollen allergies so with the wind it could be that continuous issue. Will look into testing.

We hired one company – weren’t happy with them at all. Hired another, they were better, but did not do what I wanted, and was need in one room. Both companies just wiped with mold killing products. They would not spray to get in cracks etc. I landed up spraying the wood plank ceiling myself with an all natural product called “Mold Killer” by Mineral Methods. We have since used it everywhere, and it worked great for us. Knowing what I know now, even with my very severe mold allergy, I would suit-up, and spray this everywhere, and not hire anyone. Just my opinion.

Apologize for leaving out in prior comment: I would spray BEFORE any testing to see if that fixed the problem without getting gov’t involved, and it would save expense of testing. The Mold Killer is not cheap, but it goes a long way, and does the job. I don’t know if there are certain problem areas in your house, or perhaps just start where people sleep, and spend the most time.

auscitizenmom’s comment about HVAC is a great one. I had a humidifier attached to a central air unit in one house – it was a mold factory! Took it out, and cleaned and sprayed inside all the ducts. Had to fix a couple of leaky windows, and replace a door. Fixed the problem with no testing or gov’t involved. Also, leaky roofs and basements, and anywhere plumbing/ water is can be a mold area.

We’ve been slogging thru low-grade crap and my ongoing and old friend, sinus infections, has been visiting on and off for months. Allergist says tests show I’m allergic to dust mites, suggests we cover everything in the house with plastic covers and live in a bubble. ENT says I’m actually allergic to various pollens though he ran no tests – based his diagnosis on goat entrails, but AMA/FDA approved goat entrails. Neighbor says to just take a pill, that’s what he does.

  14. Sorry for the absence. I read every day, as I’ve said. I quit drinking 3 days ago.

When I’m going through severe DTs I refrain from comment.

i have to quit drinking. It’s going to kill me. For the last three days, stopping drinking was going to kill me. I thought I was going to die five times in the last three days, and have taken to leaving my apartment door unlocked, just so they can get in quick if I choke while vomiting the little beer I drank to try and stop the unbelievably severe shakes, that my stomach said “NO!” to, or if I don’t have a heart attack or stoke while sweating and shaking and not sleeping.

In that case, I hope they discover me before the cat eats my face.

I am going to overcome this. Three days of that is worse than any flu or cold I’ve ever had, by far. In fact, it’s terrifying. I don’t want to let all you people down, and I won’t. Same with all the people in my town.

There is a wonderful Hindu man I’ve been talking with, after asking his advice on this matter. He owns the building next to me.

He said, among many other things, in Ravi Zacharias’ voice, “You are in control of your mechanism.”

He also prescribed, first nicotine patches. Then Yoga. Then quit drinking. In that order.

I also preached (the Holy Spirit also preached) Christ to him, at the same time, with the admonition to love everyone, above all else. He agreed, fully.

I don’t want to let any of you people down.

Wooly, don’t worry about letting us down. We accept you the way you are. I think you probably should quit drinking, but maybe not do it by yourself. It can be very hard on your body.

Whatever you decide to do, we are on your side. I think you should get medical support for this, though.

not giving advice, but 34 years ago a psych gave me a prescription for attending an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, said he had nothing to help me, but maybe I could get some answers there. I went, and that was the first time in 43 years of life that I could say I have had no booze in me, and soon the desire went away, and there were lots of folks there that just loved me into wellness.
They just told their stories to all us in a group, and turns out we all had the same shames, hurts, fears, behavior stuff and history of failures to go with our false pride that kept us shackled to the stuff.
I had to learn that booze is not the problem for an alcoholic….booze is his solution…the problem is deeper and harder to root out, and going on the water wagon for a period of attempted self control was a recipe for failure, cause the root issues were there anyway.

There is hope, Wooley, and their program works for those that work it.

      Good luck to you.

      • Joshua, I respect you greatly, and will keep that in mind.

They just told their stories to all us in a group, and turns out we all had the same shames, hurts, fears, behavior stuff and history of failures to go with our false pride that kept us shackled to the stuff.

Same with every single one of us in the restaurant industry.

It’s beginning to dawn on me that I’m already in a “program”. It’s called “Life”. We just need to all talk, and listen. And in my kitchen, and in my former kitchen, we do. We need to do it more.

Our talking, though, all of us messed up individuals, in my industry, mainly looks like a combination of a pinball machine and Twitter. Jumping all over. Nobody really knowing each other because nobody is willing to refrain from interrupting every time there is a pause, or a comma. I don’t know more than two people who will listen to anyone talk for more than a minute, let alone ten. And that’s what real conversation is. And we all love each other because we’ve all had, and have, completely screwed-up lives. Yet we can’t talk about it like adults, because nobody knows how to listen to one person for a few minutes, and have a real conversation.

And we all know what every conversation that resembles a Twitter pinball machine ends up as:

        Ball go down the hole.

After Chef got his 15-year coin from AA, he’s drinking like me.

And he cannot hold a conversation, as such. Even though he’s told me they have rules about conversation — such as, don’t interrupt when a person is talking — he doesn’t follow those rules any more. When you can’t get a word in edgeways, that’s not a conversation, that’s a Twitter pinball machine.

Besides, they have a book that surpasses the Bible in their view.

Your coffee cup can be your “higher power”. You can be your own God.

        Complete BS.

Nope, I’m in a program already. Real life. Don’t need another one. Don’t need psychologists. Don’t need Zondervan Corp.™ salesmen. Don’t need “group therapy” — already have that, in spades. Don’t need a different bible. Don’t need anything but love and Christ, and the people around me I love.

Convince me that AA and the Zondervan Corp.™ bookselling program across the street from me are more important than that, or more truthful.

I will go into St. Basil’s, in my town, before I darken any of their doors. Many reasons.

        Lotta years.

      Wooly,

You know how I feel about all of this.

You know how I feel about you.

You know how I feel about AA.

You know how I feel about Christ and his healing touch.

Miracles are rare or they wouldn’t be miracles, they are without a rational explanation.

Your body is temporal and is going to react very very badly to withdrawing its daily poison. What you are doing is dangerous. Drinking will kill you. Withdrawal symptoms can kill you and or someone else.

Please get medical treatment for the DT’s . Please.

Did I tell you about my friend who jumped off the 10th story of a parking structure? No. Some things I just don’t talk about. That doesn’t make him any less dead or erase the memory of scraping him together that the people who did the job have to live with. It doesn’t erase the phone call his wife received or the memory of her having to tell her children that daddy wasn’t coming home.

There is a magic moment. A blessed moment when you will know that you have it. You will see it all clearly.

After that moment you have a choice to live in gratitude for your sobriety and work to maintain it while simultaneously knowing that it is a gift, a grace you will never give up or to go back to the poison . The poison always comes in a beautiful chalice but it is still revolting. Your day for putting that revulsion into positive action for your own betterment is here.

Grab it Wooly, hang on to it, but don’t go it alone, Jesus chose friends, he had disciples, he was aggrieved when he returned that none had stayed awake with him.

We are here for you Wooly, we will stay awake, but please make use of all your good will, of all your kindness, of all your good deeds, your beautiful heart and lean on some of those in your physical circle who love you.

I’m never disappointed in you Wooly, I recognize a soldier in a war.

Dear Wooly, I have no personal experience to help you, just my prayers and experience with others I know with addiction problems. I searched for prayers online and this came up. It seemed fitting, but please ignore if not helpful or what you are looking for –

The Stations of the Cross for Alcoholics is a book that is rooted in an ancient Catholic devotion. It is intended to assist Catholics and other Christians find deeper meaning in their struggles with alcoholism, by connecting the oftentimes hard road of sobriety with Jesus’ suffering road to His Crucifixion. The reader sees that their old alcoholic ‘self’ is being led to the Cross and the joy of eventual resurrection of a new sober self can follow. Whether they are still drinking and struggling, or have been sober for many years and still have difficulties coping with sobriety, this book should help readers maintain that sobriety.

I particularly like “Jesus falls for the third time.” What a lesson on life that is! If God came down here to show us that it’s okay to fall again and again as long as we pick ourselves back up and keep going, keep carrying our crosses–then those of us who have fallen a few times can take comfort. Who cares if the world thinks I’m a loser. Get back up. Keep going. He’s right there with me.

I still feel a little weird walking into Church with my iPad…even though my readings are on my tablet and many of my prayers…it still feels weird–but this Friday, I’ll be doing just that as I take the Stations of the Cross with this e-book by Paul Sofranko. It’s only a matter of time before we all have tablets in the pews, right?

My oldest son came home from school last week after having done the Stations with the whole school community. The eighth graders acted out the stations and gave running commentary for the rest of the younger children. Ben was telling me about this and reminded me, “Mom, it’s not always a good thing to go along with the crowd. The crowd is who killed Jesus.”

Dr. Peterson has been on Tucker Carlson’s show several times, is a professor from Canada, has written a book, and explains why the leftists are so wrong. He is soooo serious all the time and it was fun to see him laughing at the carrying on on Gutfeld’s show. 🙂

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

Who Runs March for Our Lives?

    https://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2018/03/who-runs-march-for-our-lives.html

…Now that opportunity is being exploited to the hilt by a professional class of political activists.

Gun control activists wring their hands over the NRA. They claim that a special interest lobby is illegitimately thwarting the “will of the people”. Yet it’s the anti-gun groups that are invariably false fronts. It’s very clear who runs the NRA. But the latest fake anti-NRA group is a nebulous shadow. Out front are the high school students and out back are the professional activists.

And who is really behind the whole thing? Hollywood celebs, Bloomberg, a network of organizations?

We know who supports the NRA. You can see NRA stickers on car windows even in the bluest cities in the country. But who really supports the anti-gun political network? You’ll need to spend hours sorting through paperwork, following the trail, comparing addresses and researching names, to even get a hint.

That’s what an illegitimate lobby thwarting the will of the people really looks like.

Instead of March for Our Lives, maybe it’s time to March for the Truth?

Look, I hate Rap, as such. I hate the Rap that leads to the Kockout Game, and hate and greed and anger. Which is pretty much all of it that permeates our media culture regarding that style of music.

Rap is poetry and beats and music, all put together. That’s all it is.

          • What you hear called “Old-school” rap… it only means rap that is only about how good one can rap itself. I.E. anything by Beastie Boys.

Old-school rap only wanted to prove while saying so, that they could rap better than you.

That song was the first that went beyond rapping about rapping itself.

Even Eric B. & Rakim’s Follow the Leader and Microphone Fiend — which I have memorized, were only about rap itself. It didn’t have any meaning other than “I can rap better than you.”.

I don’t think it was until Eminem that people realized what could be done with poetry and beat and meaningful verbal exchange. Not since Grandmaster Flash, anyway.

Probably less than 2 years old. In heat, vocally speaking each second.

Tripod is having none of that, because he’s fixed, I guess.

I gave her a pile of food. Maybe she’ll find it again. Spooks easily like Miss Kitty a few years ago.

This one talks back. She’s outside my window doing the “in heat” yell, right now. If me and my friend can catch her, my friend for 11 years and fellow cat-lover, can catch her, we’ll get her fixed.

Very talkative though! I got Miss Kitty, a feral orange tiger, to sit on my lap twice, maybe three times. I have photos. We’ll see if I can get this grey tiger to sit on my lap. i will have photos.
