    Thank you, thank you, thank you for each and every pray for my cousin.

    We have passed the 6 month mark of my cousin’s 6 week – 6 month diagnosis. And I on Monday the doctor smiled and said “Son, you’re in in remission.” We are overjoyed. His tumors have not shrunk, but he is beating all expectations and still living his life, we are hoping he can get up to his trailer in Indiana for a week this Spring. He is back on heavy chemotherapy, his worst one starting this Monday.

    One of the treatments causes his entire body to itch, I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions we have tried literally scores of creams and lotions.

    I know he still doesn’t have a lot of time, but for him to see the world return to life one more time is such a gift. Thank you ❤️.

      Has he tried a baking soda bath? 1/2 – 1 cup of baking soda in a tub full of warm water, soak at least 20 minutes. The common cure/ish for poison ivy/oak down here…. and continued prayers!

      I would check with the doctor doing the chemo to see if there is any of these natural ingredients contra-indicated if he is going to be putting a lot of it on all over his body. Remembering that your skin is your body's largest organ, and whatever you put on it will be absorbed into the body, I searched for natural itch remedies, and found:

      And also this from another site an example of the proportions of a cream mix:
      Homemade Eczema Cream
      Ingredients:
      • 1/2 cup coconut oil
      • 1/4 cup shea butter
      • 1/4 cup oats ground into flour, or oat flour.
      • 2 tsp vitamin E oil
      • 20 drops lavender essential oil

      Of course do not use any ingredient he is allergic to. I could not tolerate the lavender for example. I found a plain cream base I tolerate, then I buy Vit E & COQ10 gel caps, cut them open, and add them to the base – but that is for my problem with my hands which is not necessarily itching – it is just an example of what you can do.

        Thank you G-d&Country, he has already been on palliative care because he was tired of the effects of chemo, radiation and other drugs. He decided to give it another try in the hopes of going up to his to his trailer for a few days and it looks like we are going to get that,

        Thank you for the mixture I’ll send it to my cousin and she can whip it up for him.

      Try strips of brown paper lunch bags soaked in apple cider vinegar, then placed on the skin. Cooling is better than warm stuff.

    Morning all! Yesterday was a silver snow day, so today I went for gold. The discussion on Sunday about painting brought to mind this image of a white cherry blossom tree on a home’s wall. I went to a house that had a more subdued/ faint gold wall and cherry blossom tree – it was beautiful! The bathroom sink also had a gold sink with blossoms sliding down the sink towards the drain!

    Here is a handmade, one of a kind painting by artattaknyc. You can see at the edges the fabric/canvas

    For a much smaller painting here is a beautiful painted cookie (a little blurry from my enlarging the pic). I couldn’t eat it!

    Painting limoges with cherry blossoms was also very popular at one time. Here is a limoges trinket box

      Look at all this beautiful stuff with cherry blossoms on it. ::sigh:: I have this for regular, everyday use. And it’s dishwasher safe, too!

      I actually bought mine when it was on clearance in a local stare, so I didn’t pay that price for it.

    OK, so between the lamb at the top of the page, Sean the Sheep the other day, and Michelle’s farming stories I had to post these Sean the Sheep cupcake photos. The 1st is using frosting for the wool, and the 2nd is using mini-marshmallow probably held on with frosting. They are just too cute, and don’t look that hard to make!

    I had a photo with a line of brown frosting for the 4 legs like Sean, but I can’t find it now.
    Hope they bring a smile to your face – and tummy! 😉

      They will dictate what food we can buy next or what car we can have. How far are we expected to allow the companies to go when the govt watchdogs wont stop this?

    I made someone angry the other night by calling the FBI a circus. You see, It’s Not Fair that I said that about the FBI because this person knows someone who works for the FBI and It’s Demoralizing for those people to have to hear the FBI maligned as a circus.

    There were a lot of things I could have said to this: 1) They ought to be demoralized, working for the biggest clownshow in America, or 2) Let me break out the world’s smallest violin while you tell me this sad story. I chose not to escalate it. I don’t know why I do that. I’m never satisfied when I opt not to fight with people.

    But never mind that for a minute, there’s another issue here: I’m really, really tired of people who hold up feelings as a standard. Either, someone’s feelings got hurt, so I should stop being a meany, or, it’s wrong of me to feel such and such a way about things. I wish people would use facts when they try and change my mind about things, rather than refer to their freaking feelings and expect me to care. Conservatives are the only group I know that deals in facts. Everyone else whines about their feelings, or someone else’s feelings, or mistake my beliefs for feelings and inform me I’m wrong. It’s getting real old.

      You’re frustration is understandable. My DD believes there’s a whole group of people that want to be offended and are not happy unless they’re feeling offended. It’s a weird life choice.

        I don’t mind if they want to be offended. But I sure don’t want to hear about it, not on Twitter, or FB, or anywhere else. And I sure don’t want them complaining to me about how offended they are.

        This person was offended because they know someone who’s working in the FBI. But they couldn’t respond when I pointed out how Comey let Clinton walk after she’d, you know, taken money from foreign governments to her corrupt foundation while running for the highest office in the land. They just said it was Demoralizing to the “good agents” in the field.

        There was a lot I should have said, but I know when I’m going to waste my time trying to reason with people who have renounced the use of reason. Even though later I always wish I had wasted the time.

        My theory is that many people don’t realize that their feelings are irrelevant. My dad told me something a long time ago that stuck like glue: “Other people’s opinions of you are none of your business.” Took me a long time to figure that one out – but he was absolutely right.

        We have a culture that has skewed towards feelings as an excuse not to do the difficult things while at the same time cultivating feelings as a standard of success. Hopefully, the pendulum is swinging back to common sense. It will move slowly –

    Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

    Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
