How many days and we’re just now hearing that the Russian defecvtor and his daughter were poisoned by a nerve gas from the Novichok series. Gotta go next door and say “I told you so” but it’s interesting that it took them so long to say so.
The Novichok family was designed to circumvent WMD/chemical agent controls that Russia signed. I’m not sure I can say how they circumvented the controls but they did and we knew about it before the USSR melted down. Interesting, though, that it took so long as the Russians had to know we knew about the Novichok formulae.

Russians used to use folks like the Bulgarian DS as cutouts fgor their wet work but since that store closed they have to work in-house. These last two in Britain were special cases regardless of who did them.

POTUS will be arriving in Miramar tommorrow and theyre doing a lot of back and forth flying plus a round table discussion. Miramar is beautiful, its where Top Gun was filmed, but inaccessible for me dang it. So like everyone else Ill have to watch. Its a bummer because the kiddo asked to go see him. Maybe one day we can see AF1. I can always take him to the regular air museum.

This is one of my absolute favorite pictures. It is a Trump supporter cheering on candidate Trump as his plane takes off after a rally. I think that there are better larger images where you can see the supporter’s Trump sign and the Trump on the plane.

The point is that Gil wants to see AF1 near her home. If she wants to see a former AF1, she can visit the Reagan Library.

I was more pointing to just another air museum in the DC area rather than an AF1 exhibit. I don’t believe that any of the former AF presidential aircraft are displayed in the DC area.

Obama was Van Jones Northern Star. I think he may have a nervous breakdown.
Jones speaking to Oprah;
“We had you. We had the Obamas in the White House. Even on a bad day, you had a North Star. You had some hope. And then it was like the universe looked just said, psych! And threw us in the toilet and closed the lid and now we’re just stuck in this crazy situation, swirling,”__Van Jones
Oprah ain’t running Jones, she ain’t revealing her billions, she ain’t having all the black people she called nigger coming forward, she ain’t having her schools sketchy record investigated, she ain’t having all the lies she told come under scrutiny, and President Trump warned her that he would love to run against her because he knows her weakness.
Someone needs to go into the business of selling tingles and calm these nuts down.

Oprah won’t run. Michelle is too lazy to run. She has all the money she needs in off shore bank accounts, the only reason I can see her running is to keep Barack out of jail and frankly she probably isn’t too interested in that, other than to keep the White Devils from throwing another black man in jail.

Good question.

Democrats are the grown up kids you played with in elementary school who tried to make up rules to the games as they went along, then took their bright, unscuffed new ball home when called out. Then the rest of the kids went on playing with their perfectly fine old ball. Or rocks, acorns, nuts, or rolled up shirts. They learned to win. Under less than perfect conditions.
Meanwhile, today, the Dems old ball still sits on the shelf in their old room, untested, untried, but given a perpetual place of honor.
I am serious here. They have no depth of character, no maturity, and would not dare to try to break away from group think.

Dear Lburg, I feel for your situation. My nephew had the same job, and recently left the profession.
Also, there are now scar treatments and cosmetic surgery which does wonders. My brother fell on a chain link fence which collapsed when he was climbing over it. It cut through his cheek, and he had a large scar. There was nothing to be done for it 50 years ago. He was, and still is very handsome. We just all said it was a dueling scar! 😉 Beauty is skin deep – real beauty is in one’s heart and soul. He will heal with God’s love, and all our love and prayers. {{{ ❤ & hugs to you all }}}

Dems Once Thought It Cool to Call Out Journalists, Even Threaten Them
by: Jack Cashill
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2018/03/dems_once_thought_it_cool_to_call_out_journalists_even_threaten_them.html
Whether Trump’s comments are beneath the office is surely in the eyes of the beholder, but they are not at all unprecedented. There was a time not too long ago when Democrats in and out of the media celebrated “plain speaking” and at least one president who made speaking plainly a virtue.
That president was Harry Truman. In his fine 1998 book, Harry S. Truman and the News Media: Contentious Relations, Belated Respect, Franklin Mitchell traces the media’s evolving response to what at the time many considered the “ill chosen words and threats by the president.”
Truman was not at all shy about insulting journalists in private and in public. He referred to columnist Westbrook Pegler as “a guttersnipe.” He called Walter Winchell and Drew Pearson “gutter columnists” as well. The Alsop brothers, Stewart and Joseph, he called the “All Slops.” In private, he called columnist Frank Kent a “prostitute of the mind.” In public, he called him “intellectually dishonest.”

This Saturday is St. Patrick’s Day so I will be focusing on Irish artists. This is from Irish artist Sir John Lavery. It has an interesting, and unusual perspective:
Sir John Lavery (1856 – 1941) – The Intrepid War Artist. Sir John Lavery is best known today as a painter of society portraits and exotic landscapes. He was also one of the most prolific and hard-working official war artists of the First World War, yet this aspect of his career is relatively little known or appreciated. Lavery’s choice of war subjects was influenced by his natural interest in modern life and current events. When the First World War began, he quickly seized upon the new signs that the country was at war in paintings such as `The First Wounded at a London Hospital’. As an official war artist from July 1917, he took a roving brief to depict naval bases, shipyards, airfields and munitions factories in Scotland, the North East of England and the South Coast. His travels were often prompted by topical events, such as the arrival of a new airship at East Fortune, or the construction of a secret port in Kent. As one contemporary writer put it, Lavery drew out `the ground plan of the War, its base and structure – the Naval power, the intensity of mechanical production’, and, not least, the significant role that women played in this. ~ from a lecture by Angela Weight, former Keeper of Art at the Imperial War Museum.
Back to work 🙂 Have a great day, and to others in the Nor’ Easter – be safe!

One of my best friends got hit in an eye by the sharp corner of an unopened cassette tape. I can’t remember if the cut was under or over her eye, but just missed blinding her. It was a terrible cut and they sent an ambulance for her and called in a plastic surgeon because it was going to leave a really bad scar. He did such a good job that within months you could hardly see the scar at all and finally just disappeared completely.

I hope the surgeon is a good one. I dont know if the tear duct can be repaired, but if they can fix everything else and he has to use eye drops or ointment but still have his eye itll be best case. Get some rest. Family may need some help during recovery. Hugs.

OK, I’m sitting here fuming. I have been writing your Iditarod update for almost an hour, and just managed to delete the whole thing due to my stone-fingered f-up. Arggh!
There is so much going on today, talking on about Iditarod seems frivalous, but sometimes a light hearted change of subject is welcome. So here’s your update.
The last big checkpoint on the Iditarod Trail is at White Mountain (WM), 77 miles from Nome. Some years back, during the height of PETA protests of Iditarod, a new requirement was established to require all mushers to do an 8 hour rest at WM. This resulted in much livelier looking dogs at the finish line. Since then, the order of teams into WM very accurately predicts the finishing order of the race. If two teams are within 30 minutes of each other arriving at WM, the following team may be able to pass and move up one position. But more time difference than a half hour generally can’t be made up between White Mountain and Nome.
That said, Joar Ulsom arrived in White Mountain about 8 this morning, with a strong-looking team. Nic Petit arrived three and a half hours later. Mitch Seavey is about two hours behind Nic. So there is your 1-2-3 finish for Iditarod 2018. Four hours behind Mitch is Ray Reddington, Jr, in 4th position, and hot on his trail (23 minutes behind him) is Pete Kaiser in 5th. If Pete manages the last hundred miles well, he could pass Ray and finish in 4th place. The purse for this race is quite large; a one place difference in finish order translates to about $10,000 more winnings. The champion will get $70k plus a brand new Dodge pick up truck. Second place gets $60k, third place gets $50k, and on down by smaller increments. After 20 place, each musher gets $1,000 for finishing. Makes a big difference to come in 20th vs 21st.
Aliy is currently in 16th position. She left Koyuk at 9 this morning for the 12-hour run (plus whatever rests are needed) to White Mountain. She is in a tight group of 4 teams, so could conceivibly pass the 3 in front of her to be 13th in to WM. Hoping her dogs remain healthy and ready to go.
Mike Williams, Jr, is in 27th position, having left Shaktoolik about 2 hours ago for the harsh run across the sea ice to Koyuk. And Allen Moore remains in 59th position, partway up the Yukon between Grayling and Kaltag. There are still 62 teams competing, so he is not the Red Lantern (last place).
Baring unforeseen circumstances, Joar Ulsom should be declared the winner of Iditarod 2018 sometime after midnight tonight.
Go Aliy! Go dogs! It ain’t over till it’s over! Prayers for all mushers out on the trail…

Another update. Not edge-of-your-seat stuff, but exciting (for me anyway) to watch. Pete (still 5th) is now 2 miles behind Ray (4th) and they are about 4 hours out from White Mountain. Go Pete! You can do it!
Aliy has passed one of the three teams right in front of her, and is only a mile behind the one now immediately in front of her. Still about 8 hours from White Mountain. Go Aliy! Go dogs!

Thanks Tundra for starting again. Once my middle daughter deleted an entire paper she had worked hours and hours on. She was sitting at the kitchen table on her laptop and I heard her thumping the keyboard with her fingers, and thought hmm,…. then the thumping got harder so I said “Hey go easy on that keyboard.” Silence. Then Waaaahhhhh…
I felt so bad for her. After that she always saved her papers and sent them periodically to herself in an email.

LOL Actually my friends who went to Alaska and rode on dog sled said the dogs were all different kinds. There were even a couple of dachshunds in it. LOL

Actually, lovely, some GSP (German shorthaired pointer) blood is prized by some mushers. And back in the 90s there was an Iditarod team of standard poodles. Iditarod Trail Committee ruled against poodle participation after a few years. Fur not adequate for the harsh climate, they said. As USmom says, lots of breeds will pull if you convey to them that you want them to. But Iditarod level pulling is best done by the amazing Alaskan husky. The breed standard for this dog is in performance, not in appearance. That’s why they are not accepted by American Kennel Club. They can look like anything. The Siberian husky and the Malamute both have breed standards in appearance, so both are recognized by AKC. But neither is as fast as the Alaskan husky. They are outstanding working dogs.

We were talking about antiques and furniture with character here a day or so ago. This is my friends Regina Music box. This model was only made for 1 year in the 1880’s because it was considered too big, the models before and after are smaller and mostly have arched tops. It is probably 6 feet tall.
I can’t remember how many discs it holds but about 12 ?
The sound is amazing. It all works with a crank and gears.

I love it. I have furniture that was passed down generations, but it was all well used and went through several generations of children. lol I’ve been working on restoring a side table that originally belonged to my great-great grandmother.
Most of my furniture is old, either passed down or things I’ve bought over the years at auctions. You just can’t find things made today that come anywhere near in comparison to craftsmanship.
I even have an old wood cook stove, an ice box, and a ringer washer and wash board. I don’t use any of them, but have them in our shop. The old wood cook stove though I’ve cooked on a few times just to see if I could. You never know when there might come a day you will need it. lol

Right?
I bet cooking on the old wood stove when you don’t have to out of necessity is fun!
All my “antiques” are homey. I have my grandmother’s, who passed away when my mom was just 4 years old, singer sewing machine, it was a foot pedal machine but my grandfather rigged it up so the treadle worked with electricity 🙃.
My canning table was a friend’s great grandmothers, but the rest of my old things are flea market, thrift store, garage sale or antique shop finds.

Let’s just say learning to cook on a wood stove takes lots of practice. lol Trying to good temperature right is not easy to do. My DH is better at it than I am, probably because he’s the one who smokes everything and cooks on the grill. He also always did all the open fire cooking when we went camping when the kids were young. I did my part on the old Coleman camp stove. lol
I actually have two foot pedal machines, one is a singer that belonged to my grandmother and the other is one I bought at an auction. I always forget the brand on it, but that’s why I bought it because I had never heard of it before. I got it for $20.

The wood stove sounds like an adventure. I cooked over an open fire while camping many many years ago. Now I want a hotdog cooked on a stick over a campfire. Stella’s often makes me hungry!

I can do hotdogs and marshmallows. lol I was always horrible at trying to fry potatoes and bacon when we were camping.
My DH was always in his element cooking like that and enjoyed doing it. I would miss those days of waking up while camping with the smell of him cooking breakfast if it wasn’t for the fact I don’t miss sleeping in a tent on the ground. lol These days I might not be able to crawl out of the tent.
My only job was to make toast and scrambled eggs on the camp stove.

I may not be able to crawl out of bed in the morning. We had to go out and move a new mom and her babies into the barn so the babies wouldn’t freeze tonight.
She had other ideas and wanted to stay where she was at. She followed us to the barn with us luring her with the babies and then decided she was going back to where she had them.
Fainting goats never faint when you want them to faint and we chased that damn goat until I was gasping for air. Finally my DH caught a leg and dragged her into a stall and as I was putting the babies in with her she thought she could run out of the gate before it was closed and I got in front of her and got my leg rammed into the wood. Sometimes goats really piss me off. lol
I needed a therapy goat to control my anger. 🙂

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you all so so much for your prayers. I just heard from my son. His upper tear duct was lacerated – the bottom one was severed. The opthamic surgeon was able to clean everything up and put a stent into his tear duct (!) to keep it open while it heals ~ six weeks. Nerves are repaired and everything is looking a lot rosier than a couple of hours ago.
He is going home tonight and will sleep soundly. As was said earlier – he’ll have a story to tell about this latest escapade.
The support of everyone here means more to me than you know. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support.
See you all for breakfast!

Looks like the Pennsylvania democrats are hard at work trying to steal another election. Tilting toward Saccade(he is down by 145 votes at the moment) but 2 districts aren’t counting their votes until tomorrow 🤔. And there are 1600 mail in votes yet to be counted.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm….

I retweeted a phone number for people to call if they were turned away from the polls. Apparently the democrats were telling people that they were in the wrong district even though the districts have not been redrawn yet.
