Briton Rivière, Una and Lion, nineteenth century.

“In like a lion, out like a lamb”

Where I live, it probably won’t have reached the lamb stage by the end of March, but the lion part usually holds true. Officially, the Spring Equinox falls on March 20 this year. In northern climes that does not mean that we have seen the end of snow – yet. Here in Michigan, we normally get one snowfall during the first week in April. Usually not much, but something.

December days were brief and chill,
The winds of March were wild and drear,
And, nearing and receding still,
Spring never would, we thought, be here.
~Arthur Hugh Clough (1819–1861)

Well Hicks is gone, the deep state’s still chipping away at trump’s innercircle, leaving him few of those he came into office with. They’re now going after Carson for an expensive dining set for his private dining toom at HUD and Zinke’s travel spending at Interior (including money spent taveling to an evil baby-killers ball at the NRA!). Like I said earlier, there are Obama/Rat shills who’ve been slithered into place in tenured Federal Civil Service positions who are more than glad to stab Trump people in the basck and, if my experience in Fed service holds true, expect to be rewarded when the next metastasizes into place.
There are Obama and still some Clinton roaches in the Federal walls who have the loyalty and patriotism of…weellllll…Obamas and Clinton. They will continue to leave slime trails in dark corners in while in self-service to the corrosive forces that hired them – after all if it weren’t for those who hired them thery might have to work for a living.

From one of my Facebook friends. He’s a business owner in Atlanta:

My uncle was the #3 man in ATF in NY, when he died at the young age of 49 in 1995. But he talked about Waco, as he knew all the agents involved for decades. He said they were a collection of dolts, bureaucrats and power climbing yahoos. They had no-common sense. Pure creatures of the deep state, as we’d call it now. Interested in what a big operation would do for their careers. Koresh could have been picked up in town, as he left the compound frequently. There was no reason to have a paramilitary raid on an armed compound. The ATF was looking for glory and wildly escalated the situation from the very first moment. And once they’d gotten of few of their own killed, they boxed themselves in and couldn’t admit that they had instigated the whole thing. So they just sat on it until they finally escalated it beyond all reason, resulting in the deaths of all those kids they’d used as a pretext to go in, in the first place. Good job.

This was a bigger mass death than any of the school shootings and it was perpetrated by THE agency that would enforce any gun laws we put in place.

I’ve been watching the ‘Waco’ series on the Paramount channel. It was supposed to be based on books written by survivors, Feds on-scene and the official report and it’s interesting.
The series highlighted things the other series on Waco slid right by such as how the Branchy Davidian lawyers noticed that while the ATF/FBI said that Koresh’s people fired first at them through the front door and that no shots were fired at the Davidians from the helicopters the holes in the front door were fired into not out from the building and the bullet holes on the 2nd floor could only have come from above.
We particularly liked the FBI negotiator telling the FBI on-scene commander why he thought it was a great idea to use the ear-splitting broadcasts and floodlights, all designed to drive the Davidians nuts if he already thought Koresh was nuts andvneeded to negotiate with him?
They never did answer my question of what Federal official(s) authorized the use of military armored vehicles armed with weapons that were ATF controlled NFA weapons and those vehicles’ military crews to be transported to and used at Waco. They did confirm that ATF ordered those vehicles for use BEFORE they even conducted their initial assault. Particularly liked how the ATF/FNI continued broadcasting to the Davidians that it wa not an assault as the Feds had the armored vehicles plow into and through the Davidian’s compound and falsely reported they were under heavy fire when they were not.
They lightly touched on how the Bureau flat out lied to Janet Reno, telling her the children were still being abused, when they were provenly not, to get her and Clinton to sign off on the final assault. They lightly touched on the Davidian found outside of the compound building with a point-blank fired bullet hole in his head and the vsnipers in the ‘shed’ where the Bureau denied there ever being shots fired – sniper in the series even looked Asian…hmmmmmmm. Did not touch on the US and foreign SF military there to ‘observe’.
At the end they had a narrater giving a roll call on numerous civilian LEA and FBI actions prior to Waco where tear gas had been used and resulted in fires and deaths. That sorta chipped away at the government’s denial about the fear of fires from the use of tear gas.
It’s available to stream from Paramount and, if as I am, you’re still chewing on Waco 25 years later it’s a good view.

I just finished reading Let Trump Be Trump. I thoroughly enjoyed it. These two men who wrote the book have the utmost respect for Trump and he has all their support to this day. Sometimes it was like sitting in a room listening to these guys just chatting about their experiences.

They don’t mention Melania too often, but there is one passage that made me smile really big. “People don’t realize that Melania Trump is the rock in the family, and one of the classiest people you’ll ever meet. Melania gave us good advice and counsel as the campaign unfolded. She became a huge asset during the campaign and we could not have been successful without her.”

Another passage was about the time that Corey, after he had been fired from the Trump campaign and was working for CNN, took a ride on the Trump plane.

“Where are you? Jeff Zucker asked.
“Well I got good news and bad news, Jeff,” Corey said. “The good news is I made my flight The bad news is, it’s on Trump’s jet.”
“Don’t you dare get on that airplane,” he said.
On either side of Corey, the engines revved. Captain John was ready for takeoff. Corey said nothing.
    “I’m warning you.”
The 757 began rolling, gathering speed down the runway.
“If you take that flight, you’re gone.”
    Wheels up.

You will have to read the book to find out how he got out of that and kept his job at CNN. LOL

    https://vikingpundit.blogspot.com/2018/02/minnesota-nice-at-polls.html

This story made me laugh. Today the Supreme Court heard a case where Minnesota voting officials sought to exclude somebody from voting if they wore political messages on their clothing. The case stems from a guy who was turned away for wearing a “Don’t Tread On Me” T-shirt. Here’s the relevant exchange between Justice Samuel Alito and the lawyer representing the Minnesota elections official:

Justice Alito: How about a shirt with a rainbow flag? Would that be permitted?

Mr. Rogan: A shirt with a rainbow flag? No, it would be—yes, it would be—it would be permitted unless there was—unless there was an issue on the ballot that—that related somehow to—to gay rights….

Justice Alito: Okay. How about an NRA shirt?

Mr. Rogan: An NRA shirt? Today, in Minnesota, no, it would not, Your Honor. I think that that’s a clear indication—and I think what you’re getting at, Your Honor—

Justice Alito: How about a shirt with the text of the Second Amendment?

Mr. Rogan: Your Honor, I—I—I think that that could be viewed as political, that that—that would be—that would be —

Justice Alito: How about the First Amendment?

    (Laughter.)

    Heh. Poor guy.

Why Did It Take Two Weeks To Discover Parkland Students’ Astroturfing?

    http://thefederalist.com/2018/03/01/take-two-weeks-truth-emerge-parkland-students-astroturfing/#.Wpg8YnNEjP0.twitter

On February 28, BuzzFeed came out with the actual story: Rep. Debbie Wassermann Schultz aiding in the lobbying in Tallahassee, a teacher’s union organizing the buses that got the kids there, Michael Bloomberg’s groups and the Women’s March working on the upcoming March For Our Lives, MoveOn.org doing social media promotion and (potentially) march logistics, and training for student activists provided by federally funded Planned Parenthood.

The president of the American Federation of Teachers told BuzzFeed they’re also behind the national school walkout, which journalists had previously assured the public was the sole work of a teenager. (I’d thought teachers were supposed to get kids into school, but maybe that’s just me.)

In other words, the response was professionalized. That’s not surprising, because this is what organization that gets results actually looks like. It’s not a bunch of magical kids in somebody’s living room. Nor is it surprising that the professionalization happened right off the bat. Broward County’s teacher’s union is militant, and Rep. Ted Lieu stated on Twitter that his family knows Parkland student activist David Hogg’s family, so there were plenty of opportunities for grown-ups with resources and skills to connect the kids.

That’s before you get to whether any of them had been involved in the Women’s March. According to BuzzFeed, Wassermann Schultz was running on day two.

What’s striking about all this isn’t the organization. If you start reading books about organizing, it’s clear how it all works. But no journalist covering the story wrote about this stuff for two weeks. Instead, every story was about the Parkland kids being magically effective.

On Twitter, I lost track of the number of bluechecks rhapsodizing over how effective the kids’ organizational instincts were. But organizing isn’t instinctive. It’s skilled work; you have to learn how to do it, and it takes really a lot of people. You don’t just get a few magical kids who’re amazing and naturally good at it.

The real tip-off should have been the $500,000 donations from Winfrey and Clooney. Big celebrities don’t give huge money to strangers on a whim. Somebody who knows Winfrey and Clooney called them and asked. But the press’s response was to be ever more impressed with the kids.

For two weeks, journalists abjectly failed in their jobs, which is to tell the public what’s going on. And any of them who had any familiarity with organizing campaigns absolutely knew. Matt Pearce, of the Los Angeles Times, would have been ideally placed to write an excellent article: not only is he an organizer for the Times’s union, he moderated a panel on leftist activism for the LA Times Book Festival and has the appropriate connections in organizing. Instead, he wrote about a school walkout, not what was behind it. (In another article, Pearce defined Delta caving to a pressure campaign’s demands as “finding middle ground.”)

But it’s not just a mainstream media problem. None of the righty outlets writing about Parkland picked up on the clear evidence that professional organizers were backing the Parkland kids, either. Instead, they objected to the front-and-centering of minor kids as unseemly, which does no good: Lefties aren’t going to listen, and it doesn’t educate the Right to counter.

The closest anyone got was Elizabeth Harrington at the Washington Free Beacon, who noted that Clooney’s publicist was booking the kids’ media interviews pro bono, and said that a friend (not Clooney) had asked him to do it. The result of all this is that the average righty does not understand what’s going on in activism, because all they see is what the press covers. The stuff that’s visible. It’s like expecting people in the Stone Age to grok the Roman army by looking at it. Conspiracy theorists happily fill this ignorance vacuum.

    And there’s more.

It’s pretty likely that Obama is the one doing the calls to Clooney and Oprah. Remember the other day when he was saying that he and like-minded folk have their backs.

Since he was a complete bust at getting anything done when he was a community organizer, he’s still trying, hoping for different results. And you know what that’s a sign of.

It looks as if the prog-ram has moved into a new phase, weaponizing them in every sense. Relying on their natural rebellion to authority and their driving need to be accepted they give them a purpose, stroked and stoked them and turned them loose. Those prefrontal cortexes that are still not formed don’t think objectively but by the time they do it will bee too late. I forgot one hard thing about goats because it’s not physically hard, but it gives your brain a work out and that’s naming baby goats every year. This year we should end up with about 30 babies, we’re at 9 babies now, we’ve got 7 named and I’ve been trying to come up with names for the last two born. I asked my DH and he said they’re red and white, name one of them red and I said okay what about the other one? He said how about Lucy and Ricky. I told him they’re both boys and he said, “well just say one of them identifies as a doe.” HAHAHA so not funny. 🙂

Trayvon Martin’s Momma, Inc was in NOLA today, speaking to black students about her personal journey. News showed her talking to a rather small audience of coordinated black students who were all wearing brand new red ‘Trayvon’ shirts.
One of her topics was how young black men are being killed by the police. I can’t help but wonder how something like that goes through the minds of black students who are still in school after the 8th grade and see their ‘young black male peers’ out there shooting and getting shot by each other…never mind shooting/robbing/assaulting those who stay in school beyond the 8th grade.
Ah well, it doesn’t matter, she’s found her calling in life, surfing her son’s memory through seas of grants and donations and pushing for an end to gun violence – disarming white homeowners and police?
Ah well, she’ll soon be on to elsewhere and the local black young men will be back to shooting each other and we’ll be back to making beer bets on the daily body count and tuning in at ten PM to see who won.
