The sea and its restlessness
Tiny beautiful shells
Fish with brilliant color
The geode with beautiful crystals inside
The star shape in the heart of an apple
The halo in the center of a strawberry
The many designs in nature
A teardrop and a dewdrop
The wheel – an orange
The tree with trunk, branches, twigs
The veins of a leaf – same design
The snowflake
The plant, how it has life
The miracle of the soil to bring forth life
The sun on the mountain and its changing
Colors from gold to blue to violet
The blue of sky and green of sod
The fury of:
The volcano
The tornado
The hurricane
The blizzard
The sea in a storm
The earthquake
For man God has given food and drink; color and design for the eye; sounds – music, bird songs, the wind, rain and the roar of the sea for the ear. The sweet perfume of flowers for the nose; all manner of taste for the tongue; but for the spirit of man He gave himself to dwell within.
Creation speaks of God and for Him … how exciting it is to think of meeting the author of it all some day, face to face!
Happy National Pizza Day, National Bagel Day, and National Toothache Day.

Love it! And pizza!
The first pizza I ever ate was when I was in 10th grade…at a West Coast chain called Shakey’s Pizza Parlour in Los Angeles County, CA. It was a very big deal to go on a date there…no booths or separate tables, just long wood picnic-type tables/bench. You’d meet your friends there and have a grand old time listening and singing to the banjo band.

Shakeys isnt doing so well anymore, but there are some around still. More independent sit down pizza places. But it was good, like pizza hut when it was a real restaurant, many moons ago.

It got up to 65 here late this afternoon. I feel bad again today too, I think we’re having a second round of this stuff. I did go outside for about 30 minutes and enjoy it. Overnight and into the morning it’s supposed to drop down into the 20’s and ice.
I sure hope they miss it, which of course the odds of them getting something right is low. lol

Lucille – that was Wunderful! My former FIL was the same way – he would shush anyone in the room who was talking if there was singing going on.
A couple of years ago I was reminded of him and went to youtube to find some Lawrence Welk, came across this one, memorized the words and taught them to the grandchildren. Sometimes when the granddaughter has had a hard day she will call and ask to sing it with me.

That was very familiar! My Dad liked the Welk Show because of the fine musicianship of the orchestra itself; Welk sort of gave him a pain. LOL! Dad had played the saxophone in his teen and young adult years and especially appreciated the Welk saxophonists.

There are so many good Bible sites, aren’t there? Bible Gateway is so fine. I do love having physical books in my hands and on my shelves but there are so many good things online as well. I found a new one the other day when I was spending time in Psalm 27 –
Just went to check – I thought I had saved it in my favorites, but I hadn’t. Oh, well.
Blue Letter Bible is one that I keep handy – every beloved commentary is included on their site, accessible from each individual verse. “Thy Word have I hid in my heart….” A never ending and good task……

For all the things people complain about re big, international cities, living in the quiet woods I get a hankering for more. Miami & New Orleans have some of these. My brother lived in NYC for 30 years, & visiting him was always an eye opening event b/c of the variety of things within short distances.

I occasionally get a little hankering for more too. There are things I would like to see and do that you can only find in cities, usually larger ones. I dislike them, and crowds, and traffic, and lines, and, aw heck, let’s just tell the truth, so many people, that I can almost never enjoy the experience anymore.
Back in the 80’s I had a trip to NYC, did the whole tourist thing and absolutely loved it. Now I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t. Age makes a big difference.
Nearest big cities to me are Nashville, which I don’t mind so much, since I’m more familiar with it, and my son lives there, so it isn’t as intimidating, and Atlanta, which I would circumvent the perimeter of the entire US, for a variety of reasons, to avoid. I had to spend a bit of time there in my Home Depot days, and when I started my decorative painting business I went there for training several times. Nothing, other than the schools, appeals to me.
That being said, if I had lots of money, I could live happily in Savannah. Probably wouldn’t because it’s a dangerous town, but I love it so. Thus far in my life, the only urban area I’ve ever loved.

The only large city that I’ve ever loved and wouldn’t mind living in is Edinburgh, Scotland. I roamed that town a lot when we lived in a wee town of Rosyth, about 20 miles away. I worked in another wee town called Cowdenbeath. On the weekend, I loved to take the train to the city, and just explore! My DH says I could be a tour guide for the castle because I spent so much time there! The narrow lanes, the underground, all of the ancient bit was so full of history.

As you likely know, in addition to the timely news articles and photos, THE SATURDAY EVENING POST had a variety of short stories. Those were wonderful and competitive days for writers with so many magazines publishing serialization of novels, short stories, poems and cartoons.
After my parents and sister had finished with the weekly magazines, they would leave a stack for me so I could cut out the items I wanted…especially all the poems. LOL!

On that sorta same theme there was a short piece about hackers getting into the ‘smart TVs’ and entertainment centers folks have hooked up to the internet. Now hackers and not just the government can take control of the cameras and microphone systems in them and secretly peek into your house without you knowing.
Industry keeps on creating devices to make our lives easier (?) while others keep finding ways to make them into devices that steadily errode what shreds of personal privacy that remain. We’re getting down to a point where we have to pick either ‘convenience’ or privacy.

Don’t have to read it, I was in the business. First indication of things to come was in the 90s when software means of remotely and secretly turning on cellphones was developed – only to target criminals, mind you. Watched the Fed hackers drool over programs to turn on your laptops, pads, smartphones – anything with a camera/mic that was connected to the internet. I’d posted on the DARPA success in hacking into automobile/truck onboard computers and taking total control of it just as soon as its previously classified existence was leaked. How about that ALLEGED ability to hack into the flight computers in military or commercial airplanes? Or them ships?
Petraeus knew what he was talking about, he just felt he couldn’t do more than dance around the edge.
Now we have thousands of people voluntarily bringing Voice Assistance systems into their homes. Amazon Echo, Apple HomePod, Google Home…all just sitting there listening to everything that goes on in your home. The sellers ‘guarantee’ privacy but from whom? I know that DAs have been salivating at the possibilities of getting their hands on any stored data from these devices and anyone who doesn’t believe the Feds aren’t working on/haven’t developed ways of compromising these devices is living in a different universe.

Only thing connected to the internet in our house is our wi-fi hotspot which we can manually deactivate. Our main-use car and pickup both have factory installed, can’t be disconnected, modems. The truck’s a Chevy with OnStar that serves as an independent cell phone system that can be turned on by the OnStar center. The car is a Ford with a Bluetooth system that syncs to your cell. Ford said it cannot be accessed remotely though a Ford mech said ‘don’t be too sure’. Both companies mum about who’s liable if hackers use the onboard modem to access my control computer and cause an accident.

As long as the computer doesn’t totally control the vehicle’s operation like the one in my Avalanche does you probably won’t have a problem. The computer ‘app’ that controls my Avalanche’s A/C is on the fritz – my A/C can suddenly pop off and the heat comes on instead. My repairman told me it would be a bundle to fix it and told me that if the dealership would guarantee in writing to fix it for the same or less he’d fix it for free. No more unplug this and beat that with a hammer, just pull the checkbook out and bleed.

We have a ’97 Saturn SL2 with over 180K miles on it and all we’ve had to replace is the plastic headlight housings. Our ’05 Avalanche is what what we used to refer to in the military as a ‘hanger queen’, our mechanic put his kid thru school on it.

I have a sticker on my laptop camera. I suppose I should do more about my phone, but it is usually in my purse. I live alone, so conversations are limited (mostly to talking to the dog and cat).

Ditto – masking tape. Interlopers are likely to hear me talking to the dogs and cats and their answering.

Hm. I am glad I don’t have a smart phone. They might record what I am screaming at the TV. 😯

OK – back to the 2 articles I wanted to post:
Ruling Class H8 by Steve MacDonald
The most basic principle that has been dumped like a Kennedy’s girlfriend is the one the self-appointed establishment hates most. It is the notion that power derives from the consent of the governed, that those using that power answer to us Normals. They hate that idea, and they reject it. Openly. Without apology. Everything they say is a lie. Everything they do is to consolidate and defend their power over you. Get woke. See what they are doing. Understand that they weaponized your principles against you. http://granitegrok.com/blog/2018/02/ruling-class-h8#more-142318
and
Katie Hopkins detained by cops in South Africa and has passport confiscated for ‘spreading racial hatred’ just days after collapsing in the street. KATIE Hopkins has had her passport confiscated and is being stopped from leaving South Africa after being accused of “spreading racial hatred”.She added: “Amazing security co-ordination from a country where police do not respond to white farm murders because they are ‘on lunch break’.” Katie is in the country to expose what she claims are “military style attacks” being made on the white South African farmers. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/5512088/katie-hopkins-south-africa-ketamine-collapse-police-passport/
Pray for her safety please. Not only is she detained in South Africa, she is an epileptic, and that is why she collapsed.
Have to get to work. Wish I could respond to everyone individually, but work awaits! Have a great day everyone! 🙂

I just found out that Bill Whittle has been attacked as a racist and white supremacist, and that the Republican candidate for governor in Illinois cancelled his appearance as the keynote speaker at a fundraiser because of these allegations.
Bill is destroyed, and struggling with how to defend himself against these false charges. If you want to hear his description of what happened in the beginning of the Stratosphere Lounge Episode 177 (his weekly discussion group):
I plan to write a blog post, but don’t have enough info yet.

I actually am surprised it took this long for the progs to attack him. He made a lot of logical arguments! He was also making inroads with the college age people by, for example, having them give up their electronics because – socialism! They did not want to do that. He wanted to change the minds of that age group.

Of course, he was taken massively out of context in the Media Matters piece. The problem is that we know Bill isn’t a racist, but he isn’t afraid to speak truth either.

It doesn’t take much these days to be labeled a racist, being white is justification these days.

Just saying you like something PTrump did, even without mentioning his name, is enough to get you called racist.

This is difficult reading because you can visualize as well as read about the torture and desecration. It took only a little spark to turn these Muslims males into raging killing machines for Satan. Their minds are poisoned from birth but their impulses were kept under wraps by strong dictators inside the world of Islam. Now those dictators still surviving are giving their men free rein, and they are accomplishing the Evil One’s desire to kill as many humans as possible.

DDD Report….CoC gal Rachel Brand bails out. Yuuuuuge!

Not sure how huge this is. Brand is leaving for a job in the private sector. Maybe she’s just tired of all the drama. After all, she would be next in line if Rosenstein is fired or resigns.
She was nominated by Trump, although she has held positions under both the Bush and Obama administrations.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
