This total puts her right up there with some of the infamous greats: better death stats than Ho Chi Minh, Saddam Hussein, and Pol Pot, and just a little less than Vladimir Lenin.

And as a woman, she’s in a death-responsibility league of her own. No other woman comes close.

You might be the first person who’s ever picked up on my username. 🙂 The avatar is of Elsa from Frozen, specifically the Christmas special Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. It was picked in a hurry when I realized that WP kept fouling up over here at stella’s and I might need to fill out the profile stuff and see if that helped. (It was almost a picture of Tron, and then it was almost my old Gravatar image, which I do have saved, before I settled on Elsa.)

I’ve always been fascinated with the night sky/outer space, and my username was assembled to reflect that, while keeping “Rhea” as a first name and having a last name that ended in the letter “V.”

Yes, he was wonderful…in EYRE and everything he did. His version of Rochester remained the definitive for me until I saw Stephens’ portrayal.

Looks-wise Fontaine wasn’t right, but acting-wise, she was perfect and after a short while you forgot that she was a very good-looking woman in real life. The same for her work in REBECCA.

On the other hand, Wilson is right in all respects, excellent acting with just enough quirkiness of face to make her both unattractive and appealing.

I have been in many places, but I have never been in Cahoots. Apparently you can’t go alone. You have to be in Cahoots with someone.

I’ve also never been in Cognito, but I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. It doesn’t have an airport; one has to be driven there. I have made multiple trips, thanks to my friends, family & work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but one has to jump, & I’m not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, & I try not to visit there often.

I’ve been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I’m in Capable, & I go there a lot more often as I’m getting older.

One of my favorite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets my adrenaline flowing & pumps up the old heart!

I may have been in Continent, but, i’m not sure I should share that it’s like. Depends.

Trump should not voluntarily submit to an interview with Mueller

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/01/trump-should-not-voluntarily-submit-to-an-interview-with-mueller/

Trump’s impromptu comments demonstrate, beyond a reasonable doubt, why Trump SHOULD NOT sit down with Mueller to answer questions, under oath or otherwise.

Trump is a salesman by nature. He’s given to bombast and hyperbole. He shoots from the hip.

Those characteristics, while they proved valuable against the comatose and drab Hillary, could be a disaster in an interview with Mueller. Mueller’s team is very experienced in these perjury and obstruction traps. They will not ask any questions they don’t already know the answer to, and the questions they ask will not be posed to obtain information. They have all the information. They will be probing not for information, but for mistakes.

Don’t do it. I don’t know what power Mueller would have to compel testimony, but nothing should be done voluntarily.

    • rheavolans says:

Mueller should have no power to compel testimony, IMO, because he’s about as trustworthy as the rest of them.

I’m still considering writing a nasty email to my CongressRats (R and D) telling them that I’m sick this waste of taxpayer money and that unless they intend to charge Hillary for selling uranium to Russia, I want this Russia nonsense stopped. It’s been at least a year now. This is insane. This clinging to this false hope that maybe, if they look hard enough, the fact that someone related to Trump talked to someone who was Russian will turn up the smoking gun proves all of these people belong in psych wards under heavy medication and close care.

Personally, I think it’s time our side break out the Rules for Radicals. Remember how they treated us over Odummer’s birth certificate? Calling us Birthers and mocking us? We need to get better at mocking and deriding these people as the lunatics they are. A slur akin to “Birthers” wouldn’t hurt either.

      End rant.

My thoughts on Mueller and President Trump. Normally I would agree with conventional legal precedent and thought on this matter. Do not testify unless you must do so under the law.

Keep in mind that President Trump has added a huge caveat to his willingness to testify and that is “If his attorney’s allow him to testify.” No way, no how will President Trump’s attorney’s allow him to testify unless he is commanded to do so under the law.

What Trump doesn’t know…..Can’t do, shouldn’t do and other Fantasies 😉

I don’t think he should testify. I think if he does it will be against the advice of his legal team, and all his advisers. In some cases his tendency to disregard his advisors is not a good thing.

I think his confidence in his own decisions is what got him elected, and it is a big part of all his accomplishments as President. No one would have had the guts he has shown, and actually advised him to go on attack, to bring the fight to them, to use Twitter like he has. But sometimes his confidence in himself leads him to disregard good, sound advice.

He ought to listen this time.

I honestly sometimes cannot understand people. An adult woman, 34 years old molested her 15 year old foster son in our community. For me that makes it even worse than many of these cases we hear about because you took in a child to protect and take care of as your son and then you take advantage of him. People are defending her because they knew her and saying you shouldn’t judge her or think she’s a bad person, some saying it wasn’t her fault because Satan made her do it. Others saying she just made a mistake and she’s suffering miserably for it. She admitted to having sex with him at least 4 times, first time on the way home from vacation, a month after he was placed in her home, another time in her bedroom, once in his bedroom and another time in the bathroom. She says it upset her so bad she had to get on anxiety medication because she knew it was wrong. Some are saying what a good person she is and came from a good family, well her family may be good people, but she ceased being a good person the second she decided to have sex with her foster son. Others saying we’re a small community so we should band together behind her. Yeah right, band behind a child molester, that ain’t happening with me.
It is not a mistake or poor judgment, it is evil, but Satan doesn’t make you do anything, we all have free choice. The boy says it was consentual the first time, but then he didn’t want to do it anymore and that is why he told his caseworker.
She has a husband and kids, them I feel sorry for, especially the children, I feel sorry for the boy, her she deserves whatever she gets and personally I don’t think 2nd degree rape is enough, which is what she’s been charged with.

She’s also a public school teacher, hopefully they’re investigating whether she molested any of her students.

That’s terrible. I agree with everything you said about this case. She is an adult, a foster PARENT and a TEACHER. It is up to HER to be the adult.

      Liked by 3 people

      • michellc says:

As far as I know her parents are good people. Her father was my youngest son’s principal and he always seemed like a good man. I knew very little of him though outside of school.

Who her family is though or how many people know the family, knew her or thought of them is besides the point. My daughter knew her when they were in high school and knows of her now as they have many mutual friends. She took advantage of a child, more than likely a troubled child at that as many foster kids are and he just turned 15, was actually 14 when she started having sex with him. I do not care if he begged her for sex or was the one who came on to her, you are an adult you nip it in the bud immediately. She could have easily stopped it or contacted DHS and said it wasn’t going to work out with the child.
There is no defense for what she did, it’s illegal and it’s wrong and to me it’s even worse that he was a foster child. She could be my own daughter and I’d say the same thing and she should be treated just like a man, yet the last man in this area, a teacher who was arrested for having sex with a minor had a lot more charges brought against him and his bail was set way higher. I also see people defending her because she’s a woman, as somehow that makes it better that she wasn’t a man. I doubt many men would be getting defended or saying we should feel sorry for her because she had anxiety. Yep, I would imagine having sex with a child in your bathroom with your kids in the home would give you anxiety.

    Good explanations by Andrew McCarthy:

The Clamor over the Nunes ‘FISA Abuse’ Memo

Conclusion There is no problem a priori with the fact that Nunes’s memo is a summary prepared by Republican members of the Intelligence Committee’s professional staff. There is no need to delay its release by permitting the FBI and Justice Department to vet it; they will have that opportunity in any event when the president is given five days to weigh in on whether the memo should be disclosed. And complaints that the memo is a distraction intended to discredit Mueller’s investigation are meritless political talking points.

Democrats contend that Chairman Nunes is engaged in a partisan stunt. The allegation that the Obama administration put the law-enforcement and intelligence arms of the federal government in the service of the Clinton campaign to undermine the Trump campaign is, they maintain, an overwrought conspiracy theory. If that is true, then Democrats — who have had the opportunity to review the memo — should be clamoring for it to be disclosed, not fighting its release. After all, Republicans have made extravagant corruption claims in recent days; if the memo does not bear them out, many a face will be covered in egg. No one is more aware of this than Congressman Nunes. He is pressing ahead nonetheless. So . . . let’s see what he’s got.

The Dems believe the general public wouldn’t understand what’s written. They’re probably right about their own supporters. Those folk wouldn’t know what to make of it because they’ve been lied to for so many decades, they can no longer discern truth.

I’m sure the House Dem leadership has their talking points all lined up and ready to email to every registered voter on their list, especially fellow Dems in Congress. They will want to do their constituents’ thinking for them.

Just show the rest of us the memo and we’ll read it, make our decisions as to its importance, then await the backup material. Just like any sensible person would do.

That’s probably what they’re more afraid of. Their supporters are nothing and won’t think it through anyway. But the Dems got curb-stomped in 2016. I would guess they’re afraid that when all those normal people who came out of the woodwork to vote in fly over land get a gander at that memo, it will get ugly.
