        Lyrics:
We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel you near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if each promise from Your Word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we’d have faith to believe

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

        When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win, we know
        That pain reminds this hearts,
That this is not, this is not our home…..
        It’s not our home

Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

        What if my greatest disappointments,
Or the aching of this life,
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy.
What if trials of this life,
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
        Are your mercies in disguise?

    Morning Everyone! 🙂
It’s snowing again here (it’s winter so yeah it snows), so here is a little winter vacation painting: Bahamian View by Albert Bierstadt

Albert Bierstadt (January 7, 1830 – February 18, 1902) was a German-American painter best known for his large landscapes of the American West. In obtaining the subject matter for these works, Bierstadt joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion. Though not the first artist to record these sites, Bierstadt was the foremost painter of these scenes for the remainder of the 19th century. Bierstadt was part of the Hudson River School, not an institution but rather an informal group of like-minded painters. The Hudson River School style involved carefully detailed paintings with romantic, almost glowing lighting, sometimes called luminism. https://www.albertbierstadt.org/biography.html or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Bierstadt If you go to the 1st bio link it will bring you to ‘The Complete Works” page for Bierstadt. They have Complete Works for many artists on individual websites. I am going to email and ask for a current list of artists they have. I come here for many pictures to post, and also to study. They actually sell reproductions. I recently panicked when I went to another artist I previously bookmarked, and it was up for sale, but the website still does exist. Enjoy!

I wonder if the invader’s in Italy start destroying the famous art (which is everywhere) such as the David above or, Bernini’s Golden Doors which is out in the public square, will that be the final straw to throw the savage destroyers out?

The one big travel trip I went on was to Italy (1975) – it was soooo beautiful, and the food! I gained 10 pounds in 10 days 😉 Yum!

    Good morning Stella, Stellars,
Great picture of David. Funny, just last night searching Netflix for a show to watch, ended up on “The Treasures from the Wreck of the Unbelievable”.
Was totally sucked into it and was searching the memory banks (definitely not a 30/30 candidate) and couldn’t remember these finds. They were fantastic, beautiful and amazing statues, castings etc. , found just off the coast of East Africa.
Did I mention that I am naïve at times? Turns out to be sort of “hoax” and an actual art event by Damien Hirst, on display now in Venice .
Still a fun and interesting show to watch.

What Bob Dole can teach us
Former Senate Republican Leader Robert Dole will receive the Congressional Gold Medal today in a ceremony on Capitol Hill. President Donald J. Trump will speak about the importance of Dole’s legacy to conservatives and to Americans of all stripes.
A celebrated war hero, Dole holds the record for longest-serving Republican leader in the Senate. He is widely known for his bipartisan, levelheaded approach to hot-button issues such as Social Security.
As America reaches a crossroads on pivotal issues from immigration and security at our borders to opioids and crumbling infrastructure in our heartland, our leaders in Congress must look to Dole as a role model now more than ever.
Watch the ceremony live at 3:00 p.m. E.T.

    53 percent strong
“Women represent 53% of the electorate, but care about 100% of the issues,” read a large screen behind the Women of America discussion panels hosted by the White House yesterday.
Female leaders from across the U.S. government joined mothers, business owners, law-enforcement officials, and other women for three panels overseen by Director of Surrogate & Coalitions Outreach Kelly Sadler:
    • The first panel covered economics, with Ivanka Trump, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, and U.S. Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon touting the effects of tax and regulatory reform on American businesses—more than a third of which are headed by women.
    • The next panel discussed health care. White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway opened by addressing the “crisis next door” of opioid addiction. Seema Verma, director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, talked through her goal of empowering patients.
    • The final group talked national security and public safety, joined by Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson, Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, and Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Sue Gordon. Gordon shared how the intelligence community has grown from a primarily male-dominated field to one achieving relative gender parity.

A partner to help deter North Korea
President Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan met with President Trump in a bilateral meeting at the White House yesterday. As an elected member of the United Nations Security Council for the remainder of 2018, Kazakhstan has become an even more crucial strategic partner.
Beginning with the voluntary renunciation of its nuclear arsenal in 1992, Kazakhstan has proven itself to be a global leader on non-proliferation issues. Its relationship with America runs deep: The United States was the first country to recognize Kazakhstani independence on Christmas Day 1991.
“Together, we are determined to prevent the North Korean regime from threatening the world with nuclear devastation,” President Trump said.

Last year’s annual report from Planned Parenthood is out. Over 300,000 abortions performed in the US. Over half a billion dollars in Federal aide received. Nearly $100 million profit made. This madness must end.

    http://hardnoxandfriends.com/2018/01/16/aclj-planned-parenthood-2016-2017-annual-report-released/

Planned Parenthood just released their 2016–2017 annual report. The findings are clear: over 320,000 abortions committed in the last year; over half a billion in government funding; nearly $100 million in profit (a staggering 27% increase over the prior year). Big Abortion is big business.

Last year, Planned Parenthood performed 321,384 abortions. That is 321,384 children who never saw the light of day; 321,384 opportunities lost; 321,384 brilliant young minds who never had a chance. To put those numbers into perspective, last year, if Planned Parenthood ran its disassembly line of death 24-hours a day, Planned Parenthood murdered 37 babes every hour. That is one child lost every 98 seconds. To put it another way, for every 1 child Planned Parenthood refers for adoption, they abort 83 others.

This breaks my heart, and though it may be a stretch it’s the best I can offer. I have a special way of celebrating/remembering the Marines in our family, and there have been many. I collect the shell casings after the salute, I take them home and fasten swivels on them creating key chains/ necklaces which are given to family and friends.

I offer to do this for anyone of the good people I have met here at Stella’s Place or the Tree House.

  14. lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
