The following “Ted” video is fairly long, but worth the watch. Warning! Heartrending material….

Oh, Joshua. This so made me cry. I have an Ancient who is approaching that bridge and every day I ask myself, “will today be the day?” It is coming. He is 16 years old and I have had him since the day he was born. He has been a gift of joy. I so hope that God will make this decision for me. It needs to be soon, he is in pain and it won’t get better, but there are still good days amongst the bad and I can’t make that final choice just yet. I, too, am hoping that our dogs will be with us again in heaven.

It made me cry too….I cannot part with the urn of ashes and the small array of special things and pictures in our living room from our special mini dachs girl Pepper…who was family until she reached the end and we are not over it even after 3 years. We have another rescue dachs, and a rescue Aussie Cattledog, but not as replacements, and altho they are loved every bit as much as Pepper, the hurt is still there and hits home whenever something familiar happens that was so much “her”.

As I age, I have gotten to be a defender of life with a vengence, and especially with doggies. Cannot help it….and I am counting on seeing ALL my doggies from All of My life since childhood in Heaven.

I have a special place in my heart for the giant, kind breeds such as Newfies, especially when they are at that clueless little puppy stage.

On second thought, I’m not sure whether this is a real tattoo or a temporary. If real, that’s pretty ghastly.

After seeing two little abused dogs in a horrible vid post someone made at CTH yesterday without any WARNING notification (it actually made me hyperventilate and be disturbed for hours it was that awful) and knowing that Titan, one of Marley’s Mutts (the rescue group whose founder is in the TED vid upthread), died last week, it makes me all the more sensitive to any potential abuse. Not sure what Titan died of but it was likely connected to the horrific torture he received at the hands of an utterly depraved and criminally evil individual. But Titan was so very loved the last days of his life and accepted that love with such sweetness it was heartwarming to behold.
