  3. Never heard of this guy, until Ace or one of his cobloggers mentioned him today.

Stunning talent. Insanely cool gimmick: a mime that sings, and sings quite well. He just doesn’t talk. This act is the height of physical humor, and then some. Look for more of Puddles Pity Party on the YouTube. You will be laughing though this, if you like Jeannie Robinson. The lady on stage is just someone he picked out of the audience.

He’s a clown mime — no talking — that sings like the Dickens, and can sing anything at all by anyone, and also has a genius-level comedy show when he performs. It’s clean and incredibly funny stuff.

His voice is incredible. The schtick is disturbing because clowns creep me out. Fun fact the reason so many people have clown phobias is that we instinctively read peoples emotions, clown make up is made to deceive our brain from reading the person’s true emotion and it actually confuses us, for many people their brain sends them a warning signal because it can’t process properly what it is seeing.

That is fascinating, lovely! Thanks for posting it. Since the movie “It” came out I’ve been thinking about what seems to be a general consensus about clowns being creepy. Back in the day of the Big Tent Shows clowns were well-loved by children and adults alike; think Felix Adler… I guess since traveling circuses are no more that has something to do with the change in exposure from mirth-makers to less trustworthy beings.

Puddles has an amazing voice – I first saw him on America’s Got Talent. I’m surprised he’s doing the clown gig – surely he could do something in music. Then again, Puddles probably isn’t in the poor house, either. Everyone should be so lucky as to do something they love.

Morning Puzzler 🙂 . I thought the information about clowns was interesting. I have never liked them, not even back in the day when we went to the circus when I was a child. Well actually I didn’t even like the virus itself, all the people were overwhelming. But I was an odd child 🙂 .

Many archaeologists, anthropologists and other professional guessers are pulling explanations of things out of their deep dark explanation storage places. On one dig during my pursuit of a fairly useless anthropology minor I watched a professor who, when presented with an item dug from a site that didn’t match the paradigm set for that site, toss the item over a cliff calling it ‘contamination’.
Can’t wait to see what the archaeologists 2000 years from now excavating things like Applebees and Victoria’s Secret shops l come up with.

Quite interesting vid clip of the Senator from Illinois making such statements and certainly worth while sending to family and friends who amazingly still don’t know the truth about him. But did he really believe what he was saying or were those comments calculated to gain some votes he was seeking?

There were many interviews from radio, taped press conferences, and other media which revealed who he really was prior to his spectacular entry into the public consciousness at the 2004 Democratic Convention. You had to search for them, but they were out there.

That convention speech was so impressive that I predicted he would be the vice presidential nominee to Hillary’s presidential in 2008 and people laughed at me, including my leftie cohorts. Not one of them (nor I) believed in 2004 that BHO would be elected PRESIDENT of the United States of America just four short years later.

Thank God by the time 2008 rolled around, I’d left the Left, had completely vetted BHO and knew he was merely saying “words, just words” as he so ironically stated in a later speech. Never before in my life had such a heavy, heart-stopping, defeated, disillusioned, palpable feeling of desperation come crushing down me as it did on election night, 2008. Overstating it? NOT AT ALL. It was as though it was ALL OVER. Gone…America was gone.

Friends lost on that day I have never missed, not even once. I bear them no ill will. But they went over to the dark side and haven’t come back.

One thing I learned…always–without a single reprieve–ALWAYS take anything BHO said in the past or will say in the future will a HUGE grain of salt.

Your last paragraph – not always take it with a grain of salt. He said he would work on fundamental transformation of America (five days before the election in 2008) and he did exactly that.

He said in a radio interview in the 1990s that he did not like the Constitution of the United States because of restrictions it placed on what could be done to the citizens. He was speaking the truth about his perspective regarding the constitution.

The fact that people did NOT believe what he said is what got him elected. I remember talking ’til I was blue in the face with family/friends in the summer/fall of 2008, quoting obama’s words to them. They simply did not believe that he meant what he said. They should have.

Point taken and I thought about that when typing the comment. But still everything he says has an ulterior motive even when he’s saying what he really believes.

Wonderful! String it out…”anticipation, anticipation…making me wait!” Love it…and him. He loves a good show. This is going to be such fun!

And on election night, November 2016, never before had I experienced such elation politically…such overwhelming thankfulness as I did when the votes were all counted and our man had won the Electoral College. What a difference eight years makes! Thank God!

They say he doesn’t listen to his advisors. He IS his advisor. Anyone under him, he’s THEIR advisor. That’s because he’s a leader, not a coddled puppet like our last president.

Over at CTH, I used the phrase “cockles of my heart” and got to wondering its origin. So, of course, I looked it up…two answers from the Sydney Morning Herald… http://www.smh.com.au/

What are the “cockles of your heart” and why do they need warming?

One of the meanings of “cockle” is the chamber of a kiln: in reference to the heart, it refers to the chambers, of which there are four (two atria and two ventricles). The heart has always been associated with emotions, especially love, excitement and fear, probably because when we feel a strong emotion we feel our heart thumping and beating faster. So when something “warms the cockles of our heart”, it is a reference to something pleasant that makes our heart beat faster and makes us feel good. It is probably also the origin of the saying that something gives us that “warm and fuzzy feeling”.
    John Frith, Paddington

The cockles of the heart are its ventricles, named by some in Latin as “cochleae cordis”, from “cochlea” (snail), alluding to their shape. The saying means to warm and gratify one’s deepest feelings.

Friday, in the NO Times Picayune/nola.com there was an article “Limerick dictionary has a poem for each word”. Seems a man set up an online forum 7 years ago, starting with the first word in the OED, to create a limerick for each word. He & contributors are now up to “gizzard” and hope to finish the task by 2076. It is called the Omnificent English Dictionary in Limerick Form (OEDILF). An example, for the word “adult”:
“As a kid, I was wild and a clown.
As a teen, I would dash about town.
    Now adult, I shall go
    Very cautious and slow.
Goes to prove: what grows up must calm down.”

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
