    Townsend, it turns out, stopped by the Chick-fil-A after taking his granddaughter to an orthodontist appointment. They considered going through the drive-thru, but in the end they decided to go inside—a decision Townsend feels he was destined to make.

    “My granddaughter said, ‘Pa, why did you do that?’ And I said, ‘because God spoke to me, and said to give him my shoes,'” Townsend later recalled to WBKO.

    He continued: “God said, I’ll supply your needs, and that’s all that matters. I don’t worry about nothing. I have a roof over my head, shoes on my feet.”

      One can only hope the writer is using the word “irony” incorrectly…”The irony behind all this is the values and beliefs of the Chick-fil-A corporation, and this act of kindness taking place here in this store in Bowling Green, Kentucky…” Using the word in this manner indicates that he thinks the values and beliefs of Chick-fill-A are opposite from kindness.

    Just wanted to say Merry Christmas 🙂
    I injured myself trying to move furniture, and am now just starting to get better.
    Hope everyone is doing well, and enjoying the greatest gift of all – the gift of God to us of His Son. The world would be hell without that one gift of sacrifice. Thank You God. Happy Birthday Jesus!

    At work, when Chef has a day off, we listen to serious old-school.

    The itinerant chef, my age, South Chicago ex-felon, has control of the radio, and the speaker, and uses IHeartRadio, either smooth jazz, or a station from Chicago that I listened to as a kid, on the school bus. That school bus driver just died this year, but this is the music I was weaned on. Back then it was called WBMX, but now it’s V-103. Saturday nights are a trip to memory lane with this station.

    I made a Pandora station when his phone went dead the other night. I said, “I got this.” He almost fell down.

    I told him, “I know this stuff by heart.” He didn’t believe me. He does now. Heh!

    I take orders from this guy, humbly. He’s come a long way. Chef’s No. 1 dances at work, all the time, while cooking on the line. Really well, too. Just for fun, and to make us all smile, and dance too. He related to us how he and his friends, in their young teens, would forcefully join the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Chigago, and dance in unison to the music. I don’t doubt a single story he’s told me.

    I filled 120-minute TDK cassette tapes with this stuff, in my young teens, and played ’em on big-a** Realistik speakers when the parents weren’t home. They were really big speakers.

    I took my little doggie in to the vet today. She has a lump on her neck between her ear and underneath where her mouth starts. It is a pretty big lump. The vet took a needle biopsy and said we should be able to find out tomorrow. He said it could be just an infected lymph node or gland there or might be something worse. I am trying not to worry.

    I wanted to give you all a happy report about ny kiddo’s preschool Christmas performance but…
    He came home from school tired and took a nap. Woke up crying and saying he was sick to his tummy. He still wanted to go, so we did make it to school, plus I had a huge tray of fudge I didnt want sitting around.
    When all the kids minus mine came in to start, I got a tap on the shoulder.
    He had just thrown up and that was it. I got him a cookie, 2 pieces of fudge, and told him we would go home, take a bath, and watch polar express.
    We missed Knotts Berry Farm for Christmas(Snoopy!) and this he had been practicing a little every day at school. And he missed Santa today.
    It stinks to be sick at Christmas when youre little. I hope he is over it pretty quick. 😟👍
    And yippee for POTUS tax reform and squashing the obamacare mandate! 👏
