    Just got back from the ER and I really gotta tell ya all, climbing on ladders sucks. Free falling from ladders sucks even more. My morning achievement – one broken arm and a ceiling that still needs to be washed. Ah, the joys of home ownership.

    I take that back, I’m gonna grab some bacon too…life is better with bacon.

    I have no doubt that there is physical evidence of Lauer’s depravity and predatory ways.

      My mother told me she learned to yell out loudly when a man touched her inappropriately, then say, “you startled me” & get away from him & to a protective man. She said in the early part of the century women carried smal pistols with which they responded as needed. I have been fortunate to have deflected any such advances without gunfire, but women have been abuse by men in power forever, both in job situations & otherwise. At this point the subject in the media is related the workplace….

        Part of the problem is that todays women believe that acting as if sex is just another body function is evidence of how liberated they are. IMO many liberal women want to act like sluts, having sex with strangers they meet in bars, grocery stores, on computer apps like Tinder and so on. Then they want to yell “Prude” at the slightest mention of propriety.

        They yes predator at the construction worker who whistles at them and giggle at the famous co-worker who cops a feel.

        I’m not making excuses for predatory men in any way but if more liberal women thought of sex as something more than recreation they might respond immediately to the first predatory behavior of men.

          I have a female friend who is very much as you describe. She keeps trying to get me to go out to the bars with her. Says, “Come on! Don’t you wanna get laid?” I look at her and say, “Nope.” My behavior is abnormal to her mindset. It’s the Cult of the Orgasm.

          I should ask her, “Come on! Don’t you want to actually marry someone, procreate and raise a family?” I know the answer to the question beforehand, though. She just wants the orgasms. And nothing else. She’s 50 and childless, and husbandless. And likes it that way. Sex is her entertainment, and nothing more.

          It’s a sad development in our society.

    Good to see and hear you all, even if a bit banged up and in process of kicking the crap out of the cancers in our lives.
    Mom is still in hospital, being moved to a 20 day rehab facility before undergoing treatment of what appears to be liver cancer. Not in god shape is she, Col. I have a greater optimism in your return to robust life than I do for her. So back down tomorrow evening.
    Crisp, clear and beautiful up here in the North State, Mt. Shasta was stunning in the early morning sun yesterday, but wind picked up, thought the leaves were done but, nyet.

    Feigning is what they do for a living. Every day.

    Wandering around at YouTube earlier, and ran across this audition video of Carrie Underwood for American Idol. Now, I’m not really a country fan, but I think she has a beautiful voice. She is only 21 in this video, and so fresh and naive. I really enjoyed watching.

    This reminder, this call to holiness is what is lacking in the revelations and commentary about the misconduct of famous men in today’s world. It all has to do with sin, with giving in to it, wallowing in it, and calling it something other than sin. These men and women, because they do not recognize truth or “The Truth”, don’t understand that their mortal souls are at risk. If they keep on going in the way they are and don’t repent, they will be lost forever to goodness and real love.

    And that, my friends, is completely what God does NOT want. He wants us all to know and accept that He loves us and wants us to use our gifts and talents in productive ways. He is waiting to forgive everyone if we humbly come to Him, confess our sins, and express sincere regret for not living a good life.

    In the 18th chapter of the Book of Luke, verses 10-14, Jesus says: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.     While our sins may not be as grievous as those recently publicly revealed (and aren’t we glad even our lesser sins aren’t shouted via media into every home in America), they are still sins for which we will be held to account.       Well, strangely enough, a friend from my past started sending me photos like that in the mail. It was totally out of the blue, as I hadn’t seen or talked to him in a few years because he had moved to another state. Let me tell you guys so you will totally understand an insight to women: there is not a turn off any bigger for a woman, than getting a photo of an aroused man in the mail. It’s not sexy, it’s not a compliment, it’s not funny and it totally destroyed a lifetime friendship.

    A guy who is excluded from this thread just said this about Roy Moore: “With Trump as our example, Moore’s behavior and his track record are unlikely to keep him from being elected.”

    Same guy also said during the Billy Bush Tape that he’d “Never heard that kind of locker room talk and didn’t know anyone who had”

    I know for a fact that the same guy who wrote this, who was once a close friend of mine, sent unsolicited half naked pictures of himself to my ex just a short time after we broke up from a long relationship. FYI, she’s 26 years younger than him.

    This is the Left. It’s a mindset. It really is a mental defect. It breeds people who want a set of rules for others but not themselves. It’s pushy, bullying, nagging self-righteous and self serving piety.

    My tips?
    To reduce tears, chill an onion before cutting it
    If they can give me salt water (normal saline) intravenously in the hospital, it must surely be safe to drink, so instead of the vague “cook pasta in salted water”, I make all cooking waters and soups and broths as normal saline, which is 1/4 to 3/8 tspn of salt per cup of water. Tastes like liberal tears. 😉
    I also use up to twice that much per pound of meat or vegetables, since they are mostly water, and two cups is about a pound.
    Add twice as much sugar as salt. It enhances the flavor without tasting sweet.

    I know we would all like to see the things move more quickly than they are moving but I believe that the Trump administration is moving at as rapid of a pace as is possible given all of the perimeters and the swampiness of the swamp.
