  5. Mornin’, folks.

There is a good 1/2-hour documentary video at the top of the article about the regime and it’s people. Surprisingly good for NYT, AKA Carlos Slim’s Blog.

I would bet my last dollar that most US Academic Elite agree with the sentiments expressed by the NK citizens and spokespersons. The US Elite are as brainwashed as the citizens of NK.

    • In the video, from 17:30 or so, you can see the fear in these people. I wonder how many of them, including the kids, are now in prison camps with their entire families, for not being sufficiently joyous about the Kims and NK.

I worry about the woman at 19:58. And the kid who couldn’t answer at 17:30.

They both look so fearful, like they hate the truth of their reality. You can sense it just watching them. I am afraid this NYT reporter, however well-intentioned, just got a bunch of people imprisoned, unintentionally.

I hope we can find a way to free these people from this hell. It’s just so sad.

Morning, lovely! Watched the video and WOW! I’ll be shaking my head all day over this one. Not only is it amazing that the US is portrayed this way, but that NK is also made to be the savior of our downtrodden people! I know, such is the way of propaganda, but still… actually seeing this footage with the voiceover is amazing.

  6. Menagerie, have you started reading “The Heretics of St. Possenti” yet? I had to read the chapter on Biblical hermeneutics and translation a few times. You may want to get out your Bible and Strong’s Concordance (it’s online) for this one. This is a refreshing book. I think I’m at about Chapter 6, and loving it. The book is pretty much all dialogue at this point, and there is a lot of humor in addition to education in it. I definitely sympathize with Thomas, the protagonist.

Much of fiction that I read is pretty heavy-handed toward the Left’s ideals, and this one is pretty heavy-handed toward my ideals — which is refreshing and rare to see.

I can’t wait to see where the book goes. I have it “on loan” from Amazon, not just a sample, but the whole thing. Don’t know how that works, but I’m not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth, and I will definitely buy it when I can.

I used to study hermeneutics and translations, years ago. LXX, Septuagent, extant texts, etymology, and all that. That chapter in this book was a great, concise refresher course.

Basically, the protagonist, Thomas, a Catholic priest, in our modern age, is told by his superior to take a leave of absence, and find a way to get people back into the Church. That sets the scene, and sets events in his life into motion.

Amazing read, so far. Haven’t read fiction with this much meat to chew on since Tolkein and Lewis.

I’m betting Col. Ken and czar would also dig this novel.

I need to get me to a dojo and a gun range.

This novel nudges me, as do Col. and czar, perhaps unwittingly.

I read the sample which took me through the chapter titled Dojo II. I just bought the book. I am trusting you on this one, and I got curious I guess.

So far I do not like it. First, can’t help it, it’s just a man’s book I’m thinking, and although when I was younger I loved everything from westerns to men’s action fiction, and especially stories about the west and mountain men, I am so far not into this one.

Second, I am going to give this more time before I firmly conclude this, but I find the explanations for the situation of the men rather liberal in its explanation. By this I mean so far everyone of them has been beat down by society, mostly at the hands of women. But it is always not their fault.

This happens. But if all the men are absent from families, jobs, and church because they had women beat up on them, I see a problem with their masculinity.

So far, the victimhood is just too much and too trite. I think there might be some further development though. I am trying not to jump to conclusions.

One thing is sure. People are leaving the Church in droves, and the men are missing. And a huge part of the reason is social justice crapola that has overcome the Church. But by gosh you cannot blame the women for emasculating the Church, and it has indeed been emasculated. The damned Church is run by men. If it has been emasculated it’s their fault.

And no, I absolutely do not believe women should be ordained. But I ain’t taking the blame for men who won’t be men.

      Rant over.

Manliness is back in fashion. How is any civilization saved without it?

Most other Castalia House books are also very much in line with Manliness.

        That and reality and truth.

It’s SF/Fantasy, nonfiction, apologetics, political and social commentary for people who are tired of the feminization and Leftist crud we’ve been reading for 65 years.

Even Vox’s Fantasy books are being compared to Tolkein, and the reviews often say they are even better.

We are at, in the West, a watershed. And I don’t know how to fight. And I don’t know how to shoot or maintain a firearm, save a Daisy 880 ten pump BB gun.

This is why I like these people. They actually WANT our civilization to survive.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, if it is your will, we pray that Judge Roy Moore will win his bid for the Senate.

My friend and I went to see the new Murder on the Orient Express. I only went because she wanted to see it so badly. I figured I would be disappointed because I think David Suchet is the best Poirot. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I still think Suchet is the best, but Kenneth Branagh was pretty good. The scenery was unbelievable, whether it was computer generated or not. I have no idea. But, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

  15. Scrolling through my fairly large Notepad-o-Goodness, I reached the bottom.

I found this, and I wonder. Has it been that long? I thought I discovered CTH in 2012 after Trayvon vs. Zimmerman. Did CTH exists in 2005?

What’s with the timestamps? I like to save good posts, but I don’t get that.

Yes, in the end Theoden of Thengel was wrong when he said that. He was mistaken when he thought that they were to ride out and meet the Uruk-hai hordes “for death and glory”. Only in the long perspective of that last Numenorian would it have been “for victory”.

Can you really blame Theoden? His kingdom was not what it used to be. When he was young, the people of his kingdom knew what glory was. No one questioned that Rohan was a great kingdom. No one questioned that what Rohan did, it did for the West’s best interests. After a turbulent time in it’s history, and after some public shames, the good King retired to seclusion. Someone close to the throne destroyed the confidence of the King for their own advantage and to win the favor of foreign powers, and tried to make sure that it would never arise again. Eventually the people and even the King’s servants began to see Grima’s position as “only natural”.

We are now in the days of the King’s awakening. His hands are relearning their skill with the sword. The Orcs have attacked us on our home-turf, and the King is slowly awakening to that fact. Who will be our Gandalf Stormcrow, to tell us what should be done? Who will we lean on in times of trouble? Many of our traditional allies in our fights don’t even believe us when we say that there’s a war going on. One of our oldest allies would rather burn himself to death than face what’s out there. Let us hope his people won’t join him.

The ancient of days Aragorn will rule in the end. Though we can’t see it now. We have pledged to serve him, and rid ourselves of our burdens, as he has pledged his life for us. The time is dark, but we must have faith that there are other little people just like us working toward the same end.”

I just don’t get the time-stamps. Was it really that long ago?
