Although I don’t wish death on anyone, I breathed a sigh of relief when I heard that the evil of Charles Manson would no longer poison the earth.
If you believe that this is a wild exaggeration, The Los Angeles Times pointed out in 2002 that Manson continued to receive more mail than any other inmate in the history of the U.S. prison system. Who writes to him? “Young kids, impressionistic, going through a rebellious state and view him as some type of anti-establishment hero, a glorious outlaw.”
I won’t display his photo here, but I will show those that his evil murdered.
And those whose lives were ruined as a result of his evil.

I read this article below and immediately thought I’d share it. Then I decided not to, because I’m usually just a one trick pony.
But after reading this I simply cannot not post this link. As this priest so simply and so clearly points out, our real choice, the real moment we battle evil forces is not epic and sensational, it is a quiet moment in the soul when we choose something we want to do over what we know is right. For many, that moment is never really re-visited, and the door opens wider.

Lord I remember this mess, it’s as if it became part of me. From my college tomy military unit to my LEAs it’s as if this case followed me like a stink. I still have the names and details stuck in my mind like gum on my shoe, all the way from the killings to Squeaky Fromm trying to assassinate President Ford to LAPD’s seemingly having solved the case brought about by divine intervention due to irritation with their stupid handling.
I believe Manson was the person who burst the bubble of secrecy that protected the warped life that was normal for Hollywood. The press centers on Manson’s murderous acts without digging into the Hollywood notables who were pals with Chuckie and included him in their social events. Too bad Chuckie had to wait so long to meet his maker, had California not dumped the death penalty he’d have been long gone, few deserved to be zapped at public expense more than he.

Second everything you wrote, czar……I can never forget this event, believing at the time in the goodness of all humanity and that evil was not running around the USA and that protesting the Viet War was just like a Forest Gump thing and not about anyone or anything that I could relate to…..the violence and inhumanity was mind blowing for me.
I thought communes and cults were just where LSD, peyote buttons, weed, and free sex and long hair and beads and the hare krishna crowd made their world statements waiting to grow up and get real.
What a sad commentary on Freedom it was…..

I heard about that on my drive to work this morning. He got a more peaceful death than most of his victims. 😠

Ripple effect — Sharon Tate was Roman Polanski’s wife. My understanding is that he went off the deep end after his wife and child were murdered so brutally.
