This is like striking a deal with Germany in the 30s that they only get to exterminate two million Jews, Catholics, “mentally unsound” and gays.

This is what compromise with evil is. How did they come up with 20 weeks? Negotiation. Bargaining.

Imagine if Hitler told the Allied Powers that he wanted to kill 9 million in a campaign of extermination, and we bargained him down to “just” two million, and said we’d be okay with that number.

      That’s what this is.

I love your history metaphor. I wish it was more of metaphor, as Iceland has eliminated Down syndrome …by killing any child suspected of having it. How very Final Solution of them.

Maybe Hitler’s big problem was that he was born in the wrong century. Once upon a time evil was viewed as something to be destroyed. Now we just bargain with it, a la Chamberlain. (I daresay history will view us just as kindly as it views him.)

  6. This a beautiful article:

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2017/10/tom_petty_rip.html

    –snip–

Petty himself, unlike many rock musicians, wasn’t a jerk, either. I would have forgiven him if he were, but he always came off as a professional music nerd, not an idiot who wanted to change the world by popping off and saying stupid things. Nor did he show bad behavior at airport lounges or hotel rooms, let alone get busted for pot; Petty never made offensive statements to alienate at least half of his music base, something others might take heed of. For that I was glad to read he died rich, with a net worth of $95 million and a nice place in Malibu.

The amazing and gratifying thing here is that so many celebrities, and people from all walks of life, are mourning his passing. It’s bigger than his low profile would suggest – from Bob Dylan to Sheryl Crowe, to Gene Stanley, to Peter Gabriel, they all owe him a debt of gratitude – and there are a lot of them. He spoke to all sides of the political spectrum and the left and right are mourning him equally. Even Ben Rhodes took a break from his twitter “narratives” to put in a statement of grief.

All that’s left now are his records. It’s not nothing. Rest in Peace, Tom Petty.

Heard this song on the way to an appt. Just can’t play it enough, for it seems to speak to me after this crazy week …May it speak to you–Listen to the lyrics.
God Bless You All & May the Lord Keep & Bless You All.
Though times it seems Like I’m coming undone
This walk can often feel lonely No matter what until this race is won
I will stand my ground where hope can be found I will stand my ground where hope can be found
Oh, O’Lord O’Lord I know You hear my cry Your love is lifting me above all the lies
No matter what I face this I know in time
YOU’LL TAKE ALL THAT IS WRONG AND MAKE IT RIGHT
YOU’LL TAKE ALL THAT IS WRONG AND MAKE IT RIGHT
    Whoa…
Your strength is found At the end of my road
Your grace it reaches to the hurting Still through the tears and the questioning why
I WILL STAND MY GROUND WHERE HOPE CAN BE FOUND! I WILL STAND MY GROUND WHERE HOPE CAN BE FOUND!

I have a little good news to share. I took my little doggie back to the pet ophthalmologist for a recheck this morning, and he was very pleased with her progress. I am glad he warned me on Friday that the blood vessels in her eye would be growing and that her eye would look red. When she is at home, it is hard to really see that eye because she keeps it closed or just open a little. At the vet’s she was nervous and her eyes kinda bugged out. That eye looked like something out of a horror movie, all red and swollen looking. But, that is what he wanted to see. I am so relieved.

      On theme..
Dogs know that something’s wrong with me, they’ve been overly solicitous and unusually quiet, especially the two terrorists. Old alpha female border collie’s been coming over, all soft faced, every once in a while softly putting her nose on my knee. Wonder if they can smell the damage? Granted my body language isn’t the same but zeroing in on my knee?

In Europe dogs are being used to sniff out cancer, especially prostate cancer. Dog’s accuracy in finding prostate cancer with 97% accuracy rate. In the US the primary way of finding prostate cancer is an uncomfortable and potentially risky, not to mention expensive biopsy. US has been looking at using dogs ( https://www.harvardprostateknowledge.org/trained-dogs-can-sniff-prostate-cancer ) but there’s a lot of resistance from the medical-industrial complex that profits from the stage play they’ve made of diagnosis and treatment.

We have a doctor in our church who has made a practice of diagnosing and treating prostate cancer in ways outside the normal procedures. He says that the medical profession butchers men, from the diagnostic stage on, and ruins their lives in the course of treatment.

Apparently he has a pretty good track record, but you have to be wealthy. Insurance companies mostly won’t pay for it.

Someone once described the biopsy procedure for prostate cancer to me. I think I’d rather just die.

I used to think gun control was the answer. My research told me otherwise.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/i-used-to-think-gun-control-was-the-answer-my-research-told-me-otherwise/2017/10/03/d33edca6-a851-11e7-92d1-58c702d2d975_story.html?tid=ss_fb&utm_term=.52704354dbba

Then, my colleagues and I at FiveThirtyEight spent three months analyzing all 33,000 lives ended by guns each year in the United States, and I wound up frustrated in a whole new way. We looked at what interventions might have saved those people, and the case for the policies I’d lobbied for crumbled when I examined the evidence. The best ideas left standing were narrowly tailored interventions to protect subtypes of potential victims, not broad attempts to limit the lethality of guns.

As my co-workers and I kept looking at the data, it seemed less and less clear that one broad gun-control restriction could make a big difference. Two-thirds of gun deaths in the United States every year are suicides. Almost no proposed restriction would make it meaningfully harder for people with guns on hand to use them. I couldn’t even answer my most desperate question: If I had a friend who had guns in his home and a history of suicide attempts, was there anything I could do that would help?

By the time we published our project, I didn’t believe in many of the interventions I’d heard politicians tout. I was still anti-gun, at least from the point of view of most gun owners, and I don’t want a gun in my home, as I think the risk outweighs the benefits. But I can’t endorse policies whose only selling point is that gun owners hate them. Policies that often seem as if they were drafted by people who have encountered guns only as a figure in a briefing book or an image on the news.

Instead, I found the most hope in more narrowly tailored interventions. Potential suicide victims, women menaced by their abusive partners and kids swept up in street vendettas are all in danger from guns, but they each require different protections…

Good article. Just don’t read the comments.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, we pray for all the people who have been affected by the earthquakes and hurricanes.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Czar….. this has been jawing at me since the shooting in Vegas. Matt Bracken author of “Enemies, Foreign and Domestic ” I think in the first or third book he explains how this all started. At a football stadium, a sniper started his rampage, sniper melts into the crowd, then a unknown Vet wakes up, and see this rifle laying there. The Feds pop him. Then the “President calls for gun confiscation…..and There was a movie back in the late 70s early 80s “Two Minute Warning”. A sniper at the Super Bowl……..it’s obviously to me Matt Bracken updated parts of this movie too fit his novel.
The reason that I bring this up, pieces of this hideous crime really don’t fit together. The Who, why, ….. it not a conspiracy theory, it’s just the little voice saying “great time for an ambush” right before the ambush…..
your thoughts……. you have the experience in crime, crime solving, me I’m just an old soldier sheep dogging in the neighborhood…….
