        We spent the afternoon trimming hooves, giving vaccinations, de-worming and moving goats for breeding season. I then came in and tried to watch a movie and fell asleep and took me a two hour nap.

        I can’t remember the last NFL game I watched, so I can’t really join in on the protest, but I’ve been reading tonight and see that some teams stood with arms linked(to me I hope people aren’t stupid, they’re still showing disrespect and unity against U.S.), some teams had some on their knees and Colts sent out a message it was their duty to protest or some kind of bs. Also read Yahoo had a poll where 80% disagreed with kneeling, so yeah I would say the NFL is doubling down on stupid by not apologizing and saying it will no longer be allowed.

    Thank you for your posts, and a really good BF. Lucille the video of horses is GORGEOUS. They are such a wondrous gift from God.
    Today I am posting a close-up of a painting of the Virgin Mary by an AMAZING artist, Pompeo Girolamo Batoni (1708-1787). He was an Italian painter who displayed a solid technical knowledge (no kidding!) in his portrait work and in his numerous allegorical and mythological pictures.

    I am amazed by his talent.

      The picture is Beautiful and inspiring.
      When I was a kid, and went to Sunday School at the Presbyterian Church every Sunday morning…we had pictures of White, Blond Haired, Blue Eyed, peaceful looking and innocent Jesus on our walls…..and so that is my Forever Picture of Jesus, the Son of God that has been with me for almost 70 solid years since I was old enough to go to the big boy Sunday School classes and give up finger painting doves and crosses.

      This is not an anti Christian comment, nor meant in anyway other than to say personally that I know all peoples are influenced for life by their icons, memes, tales, myths, family explanations, and institutional messages and so TODAY when we have all colors or peoples, races, religions, gender questions, social behavior and cultural different norms…and all these “diverse” folks grew up totally different…and NOW cannot AGREE even to allow the other person’s culture a place among all others without demanding that to disagree is an evil sin and a racist attitude….I do not believe the issue can be solved like we are living not….

      Our Religions have us separated by ideology and believe and rules
      Our schools are so mixed and confused and regulated and tainted by people who claim to be teaching and educating, but are doing neither….and to call all historical icons, monuments, rememberances, and honoring plaques and signs as having NO PLACE anymore because Someone Might Be Offended…..and how can SOMEONE NOT be offended because what they favor is DIFFERENT from that which is honored ln remembrance by some OTHER group with a different slant and from another historical context of the time.

      I have no solution…I have seen the solutions posed by Margaret Sanger and Abraham Lincoln and Marcus Garvey….but somehow, in their own ways, they were projecting the very horrible social and cultural dilemma we are experiencing in the USA today. When we were Very White and Judaeo/Christian….those values and social manners and customs were the main norm….but as demographics changed dramatically….we are engaged in a great, unnamed Civil War of Society….and have already begun major violent conflicts in public places….and I do NOT see anything that is going to end this.

        To my knowledge, there has only ever been offered to the world one self portrait of our Blessed Mother. It is one of the most fascinating stories of a miracle you could ever read, and has doctors, scientists, and everyone in between astounded on multiple levels, including photographers and ophthalmologists.

        In this portrait preserved on Juan Diego’s simple peasant tilma, she is portrayed as an Indian woman, and the symbols have universal meaning, but especially told a story to ignorant and pagan people of the day.

        My point is this. Mary was most assuredly not Indian, but she chose that appearance in an apparition that saved literally millions of people. We can’t get there in our minds, as you stated, but I think God is not of any race, but all.

        Sometimes I imagine that each one of us, the way we look, our qualities, quirks, and the essential spark that is us, who we are, is the tiniest reflection of some aspect of God. All of us, all of God’s creatures throughout time, are perhaps a collective vision of the beauty and totality and wonder of what He is, seen darkly, through a million looking glasses.

        If we would choose to just look at each other with one brief moment of grace and clarity and charity, perhaps we would better see God.

    FTA: An anonymous blogger who goes by the name of “Lovely” wrote a scathing letter to Mike Tomlin, the Pittsburgh Steeler’s head coach who criticized the former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva who now plays for the Steelers, for daring to stand alone for our national anthem while the rest of the team hid in a tunnel. Her letter is so powerful, we had to share it.

      Thanks Kin 🙂 . The really nice thing is that Americans are simply fed up and fighting back with their pocketbooks and Sunday viewing habits. Some folks are even going back to church now that their Sunday is free!

        Oh it was really weird in Tri-Cities Washington. Most Football Sundays about 2/3s of the people I see have on Jersey or Pro-Football shirts of some time.
        I went to 3 or 4 stores and maybe saw maybe a dozen–I think less people wearing any football gear.
        I think you saw what I said about my church. Even our Sunday school pastor made a happy comment about the lack of Jerseys in church. (my Sunday school is after church).

          I think Packers fans are going to be late to the realization that the entire NFL is a problem. People here were loaded up with their Packers gear on Thursday 😐.

            Pack love runs deep…it’s like cutting off a family member. I knew Rodgers was a Dem, not only when the team went to the W.H. and he gave BHO a big hug, but also when the CA legislature honored him and he didn’t give a bit of thanks to the Republican who got the ball rolling (yes, pun intended) for the honor.

            Still, I forgave him. He was my darling boy. His arrogance, however, has…finally…turned off the love spigot.

              I’m a transplanted Bears fan so I never cared one way or the other about the Packers other than my friends here being Packer’s fans so I then rooted for the Pack when I was with them.

              I don’t really know anything about Aaron. I know WI breathes Packers. I remember when Brett Farve retired I thought the state was going to go into mourning!

      absolutely patriotic and the “normal” American posture and sportsmanlike behavior.

      but what is NOT TOLD in the Picture? What makes this football team, the student body, the band, and the cheerleaders DIFFERENT for the knee-taking NFL and various black dominent football teams in schools all over?

      Really really SIMPLE.

      Read this:

      Mostly Caucasian Students

      831 students, or 93.1% of the student population at Fannin County High School identify as Caucasian, making up the largest segment of the student body. A typical school in Blue Ridge is made up of 89.8% Caucasian students, so Fannin County High School has a very similar ethnic distribution compared to other schools in the city.

      The demographic breakdown of Fannin County High School is drastically different from that of a typical school in the state of Georgia, which is made up of 41.8% Caucasian students on average.

      So I DID NOT MAKE UP THE MESSAGE….the population NORM is why this group are DIFFERENT…
