  2. Videogames look THAT realistic, now. No kidding.

    Now they’re stepping into VR.

I love videogames of all sorts, but I’m never strapping anything onto my face. I don’t even like to wear headphones. If something’s going on outside, I want to hear it. And I have $250 headphones.

But, yeah, I walked through that cave a few weeks ago in Skyrim.

Lots of skellies and a bone dragon at the end. It was quite the battle.

A lot of things are just routine blurbs that happened on a daily basis where I worked and are lost in memory until something pries them out.
For generations my families lived and died within a few miles of where they were born. My father, being in the military, was the first to really travel and I learned to like the unknown. Like Czarina, I just stumbled on interesting things and went for it. I volunteered for Pope John’s security detail and the 1988 RNC while most of my peers didn’t…I lucked out. Ditto military from Vietnam to the GWOT and lots of stuff in between, my peers could have but decided to sit them out. Could have probably made more money on a different path but wouldn’t have had as much fun.

Airbnb is a home exchange sort of thing and very popular. You list your home or property with them for times available and “rent” it to travelers. It is huge. When we had to go to Chicago for wedding many of the out-of-towners (trendy, well-off professionals) chose this option over hotels.

If this is true and I had a home or property listed with airbnb, I would remove it immediately. Yikes! Many of the refugees do not even know how to use a toilet and if they do, they still wont flush it! No kidding. We watched a health club get trashed because the foreigners refused to flush toilets and some would not understand that in this country toilet paper goes IN the toilet. Another reason I would unlist my property would be most refugees are not adequately screened for diseases which they carry but most Americans do not. Yikes! This is suicide for airbnb.

Military supporters and current Military. You’re all encouraged to assist in a National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, (Veterans Day Weekend.)
We need to show OUR unity by Boycotting all NFL football telecasts and not attend games in person as well. It will prove our point if all fans and all ticket holders stay away from attending any NFL games especially on our sacred VETERANS DAY WEEKEND.
Let them play in EMPTY stadiums. MAKE THEM APOLOGIZE!
Let Roger Goodell know that WE have been offended by hitting him right in his pocket.
Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Honor our military, some of whom had to come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.
Continue with the weekly boycott of televised games until they get the message
If you can’t “share”, “copy and paste”.

For czar (or anyone else who is interested), ran across a description of this fusion Korean/Polish restaurant in Chicago:

    Kimski
Korean and Polish fare collide at this off-kilter, counter-service offshoot of Maria’s Packaged Goods & Community Bar. Prepare your taste buds for street food-inspired finds like sauerkraut-mushroom-filled potskis with farmer’s cheese, soy cream, pickled onions and herb salad. Then, go another round with sesame seed-showered rice cakes in spicy-sweet chile sauce with kapusta and sesame leaves. Enjoy them on the patio when weather allows.
Kimski is located at 954-960 W. 31st St.

I believe they also specialize in vegetarian fare. Sounds intriguing.

The church I attend has attendees born in more than 20 different countries from all continents except Antarctica.
We were specifically asked to bring an ethnic dish for one of our potlucks, so I brought a dish my mostly-Polish mom used to make: Peel and cut potatoes into inch and a half chunks, put them in the bottom of a pot, lay a pork shoulder roast on them, dump in a half gallon of home made sauerkraut, then cover and simmer for an hour or so.
A few people loved it and had thirds; most wouldn’t touch it. One Polish fellow asked where the spicy mustard was, that it was always an accompaniment in his family.
That spawned the idea that adding Asian chile garlic paste might be good, so I tried that at home on a plate of leftovers.
      Oh, Baby! Yes!!!
So I could totally see making the dish using Korean kim chee instead of sauerkraut. 🙂

Utterly heartbreaking. It will come as no surprise to anyone here that there are Americans who say it’s all propaganda about North Korea being a terrorist regime or treating its people with brutality. I read a comment earlier this year (and it seems to me it was at CTH, though maybe not) that the people aren’t afraid of the regime at all and are prosperous enough to have cell phones, wear nice clothes, etc.

I can’t remember the exact details, but one of the stories told recently by an escapee from North Korea said she and other young people were ordered to attend a gathering at a stadium. Tied to anti-aircraft guns (I think) were young men who had committed some excessively minor infraction. An order was given and those guns obliterated those young men so that there were no bodies left at all. THIS is what that country has become. Their demonic leadership is every bit as evil as ISIS.

I had errands at Safeway this morning where there is the small Oregon Credit Union office near the front door, with the sign specifying that for their “customers’ safety” no head gear, head coverings, or hoodies could be worn. Last time I was there, I didn’t have time to ask and they had customers at their little windows. Today I had time and they didn’t have customers.

I talked to one of the managers, assuring him I was not loaded for bear or offended, but I wanted to understand their policy.

I asked, “Do the restrictions of this sign apply to Muslims, in terms of not be allowed to have their faces or heads covered?

    HIs answer: “Yes.”

So we had a conversation about the situation.

I used gentle terms and my inside voice but told him I really appreciated their thoroughness and recognition of the issues, stating that as long as camera systems and digital recognition systems can be neutralized by the face being covered, it made perfect sense to me, whether dealing with young thugs or Muslims or anyone else, “considering current events and specific crimes in small business.”

He much agreed and then continued to say they had expected trouble in enforcing it with Muslims and have not had any. Then he went on to say that, to their surprise, a problem they didn’t expect was the resentment of veterans wearing military hats. That has been their biggest issue.

I would guess that the resentment of those veterans is along the lines of “Who screwed up this country so bad that I can’t wear my Army/Marine/etc cap to cash a check to get my money out of my account?”

New normal of lowest common denominator in the business of expectations re law-abiding – – which isn’t so “in” any more.

The hero’s of Linda Sarsour have a different opinion than the king.

Saudi clerics ultimately believe female drivers “undermine social values” and lack the “intellect” to navigate the nation’s roadways.

“Would you give a man with half an intellect a driving licence?”
Sheikh Saad al-Hajari, head of the Saudi government’s religious edict authority in the southern province of Assir, alleged at a lecture earlier this month.

“So how would you give one to a woman when she has half an intellect?” he said, according to the Independent.
“And if they go out to the market this gets halved again! So they now have a quarter of an intellect.”

    http://nypost.com/2017/09/26/saudi-arabia-finally-lets-women-drive/

Linda Sarsour is the hero of the P*hat brigade.

And that is why there is no reasoning with The Left.

Hey Ms Muslim Mouthpiece Sarsour, this All-American girl has a question: what percentage of women in Saudi Arabia actually are allowed to work? I imagine that whole “being property of a man thing” kind of suppresses women from being in the workforce.

Please cite your sources and make sure that the source accounts for all women in the country, not just a couple of cities in the country.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
