Go to hell Mike Tomlin

Written by our friend, lovely, this is an expression of what we all feel about the situation of the NFL players disrespecting our country and its flag. She has, as she usually does, expressed herself with deep feeling and eloquence. As friend Menagerie said, It is the best commentary I’ve seen on the flag situation with the pro teams, and believe me, I’ve waded through tons of it all weekend.

Dear Mike Tomlin, James Harrison, Ben Roethlisberger and another Steeler who feels a need to criticize Bronze Star recipient Alejandro Villanueva for honoring the flag that his brothers came home under, you can all go to hell.

On Sunday your team had 3 options, stand and support America, sit/kneel and disrespect America or 3 take the coward’s way out and abstain, vote present, hide in the tunnel because you were too afraid to be seen as pro-American or Anti-American. What a vile low candy-ass choice you made.

“I was looking for 100 percent participation, we were gonna be respectful of our football team.” Tomlin told reporters.

Your team does not come before America.

Why should anyone be forced to act in a way that is against their moral code ? The poor boys millionaire club could not all agree on whether or not to disrespect America so you hid. We Americans understand. Trust me.

Let the kneelers kneel, the sitters sit, the patriots stand, own your beliefs. Own your side. Everyone with a working knowledge of the contract law knows that the players disrespecting America could have been fined in accordance with their contract.

Remember Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf? He was fined $30,000 after disrespecting the flag and choosing to sit on his butt during the anthem. Once he was fined he worked out a compromise and stood, he recited Islamic prayers under his breath but he did not disgrace his team by disrespecting the American flag, the anthem, America herself.

The administrative branch of the NFL is tax exempt. I hope that exemption is revoked. The entire league is subsidized with billions of tax payers dollars, for what, so you can spit in the faces of the people who support you. No more.

You have backed the wrong horse. Sometimes not choosing a side is choosing through omission.

You’ve taken something that unites Americans of every color, creed and religion and managed to divide them through your cowardliness and fear of offending the “wrong ” people. Fine them or fire them this is behavior that is covered in their contracts “conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League.”

Honoring 9/11 is detrimental, wearing pink in your hair to honor breast cancer survivors and casualties is detrimental, twerking is detrimental but dishonoring the American flag is not detrimental to the integrity of the NFL. Hypocrites. You lousy lowlife mamby-pamby money grubbing cowardly political correct assholes can all go to hell.

Your decision to hide in the tunnel is disgusting and cowardly. Your decision to criticize Alejandro Villanueva a war veteran, a man who fought for your freedom, a man who saved lives, a man who was willing to lay his life down for you, a bronze heart recipient is beyond words.

Mike Tomlin, James Harrison, Ben Roethlisberger and any Steeler who has the audacity to criticize or question Alejandro Villanueva standing for the National Anthem, choosing country over his team, you are what is wrong with America. As a team you boys get a ball from one of a field to another and celebrate. As a man Villanueva rescued wounded soldiers while under enemy fire and you cowardly clown hiding in a tunnel because you couldn’t decide whether or not to stand or sit for the American flag have the misguided intrepidity to criticize Villanueva’s  dedication to America?

I hope my fellow Americans pray with me for a holy curse on your team, that you not win a single game for the rest of the season. I hope that you lose your tax exempt status, I hope you rethink your disgusting words and actions.

May the souls of the faithfully departed brothers and sisters who came home under the American flag haunt your every moment.

I don’t think that blacks in America want compromise or want appeasement. Sadly I think that they want America to be theirs with no other race able to reside inside the borders, especially Caucasians
This video seems to represent what the protesting football players and many blacks want. (warning it is violent at the end). The maker/s of this video have also made shirts that say “All whites are racist”

UW Student Releases Graphic Video of Police Officer Being Beheaded – University OK with It (Video)(Snippet).
The video shows a police officer hanging a black man with an American flag.
Then the video shows two police officers in pig’s masks beheaded.
The sweatshirt says, “F*ck the police they the biggest gang in AmeriKKKa.”

      • No, definitely not all. I recently had someone who i thought new me well say I had white privilege. This person who is black and has known me for 25 years, knows just how poor I was growing up and that I had to put myself through college working many part time jobs. She also tells me knowing I have and have had multiple family members who were cops that all cops are bad and kill black people. This is not true. Its all a lie and this woman went to Vassar College, lives in Harlem, is a Baptist pastor and has a 6 figure job. How do you even respond to someone like that? I am / was speechless.

You may “think” they are your friend but when push comes to shove they will always side with their own. What we are experiencing in this country is BLACK supremacy, Black privilege and an arrogance that something is owed them. Walter Williams wrote a great article last week about the decay of the Black community that correlates directly with the breakdown of the Black family. No one can repair that but the Black community however it is easier to just stick your head in the sand and blame Whitey.

You are painting with too broad of a brush, kin. Lumping all blacks into this mindset is no different than their radicals saying all whites are racists.
I have known too many wonderful AMERICAN and Christian blacks to pass over this comment without a response.
Certainly do agree that there is a growing element that has been filled with hate and ready to take down “whitey” – especially throughout the O regime.

We saw what “standing or kneeling or hiding out as cowards together” looks like yesterday. The Steelers were the perfect example. It seems that blacks want us all to make decisions that divide us racially. Unfortunately, this trickle down behavior and attitude is reaching the kiddie football leagues, the junior high, senior high, and college leagues as well and across all sports. The communists/socialists behind this movement certainly have found a way to bring down pride in being an American. I guess they will like it when there is no sports left. The kids in schools already have turned a deaf ear to learning and that’s if they have a teacher willing to enter the classroom and attempt to teach. It’s BAD news America.

I once “had” many black friends, however, when they learned I was a conservative under the umbrella of a party called Republican, you would have thought I had leprosy.

The oath for naturalized citizens contains many concepts that these are denying.

Based on that, it appears that these are renouncing American citizenship. They can’t have it both ways, no matter what the NFL contracts say.

This puts them in the neighborhood of “enemy combatants”?…not quite there, according to the specific definitions, but they are getting there. They are plainly indicating they do not support the Constitution or the nation.

And those who keep supporting them with their money and attendance are their allies.

    • My idea is we just do away with American citizenship, period. People whose parents didn’t jump the border can be legal residents. People whose families have lived here for generations can also simply be legal residents. People who immigrate legally will be legal immigrants, and everyone will have to take the citizenship test to become a citizen and vote. I’m not afraid to take that test. It would save lots of trouble.

People who came here because they or their parents jumped the border can just be deported.

I’ve never understood putting any of them on a pedestal. I had players over the years I admired for their athletic abilities. I’ve had actors/actresses that I thought were good at acting over the years. That’s where it ended though. Sports, movies and television was always just entertainment for me.
NFL quit being entertaining awhile ago, so I quit watching.
When actors/actresses started letting everyone know their every idiotic thought and everything they were against and for, I no longer could enjoy a movie seeing them. So I quit going to the movies.
Television for the most part started pushing crap down my throat that I didn’t agree with, so I quit watching.
        Ditto on singers.

    Dear Hollywood
    Dear Google, Twitter and Facebook
Dear anyone else who thinks your progressive, liberal, communist, socialist views override any differing viewpoint

After watching my rights erode, my income shrink, my viewpoint ridiculed, mocked, suppressed and silenced without my consent, my beliefs denigrated and trampled on…

After watching my fellow Americans viciously mobbed, sucker punched, sprayed, pelted with foreign objects, beaten senseless, shot and physically assaulted…

After watching conservative viewpoints pummeled by malignant lies, censored, cut off, denied access to public forums and in any other way denied their First Amendment rights…

After seeing my flag, my national anthem and my country disparaged, marginalized, falsely condemned, disrespected and assaulted…

After endless news cycles of protesters blocking streets, shutting down commerce, destroying property, attacking people and generally running amok with virtually no LEO interference…

After enduring 10 months of non-stop vitriolic, race baiting, vile name calling, whiny poor losers screaming, raging and foaming at the mouth over the duly elected 45th President…

I have had enough. Actually, more than enough. I will no longer buy your products, I will no longer watch you, listen to you or read you. Perhaps when your businesses fail–as they surely will–you will take a second look at your behavior.

Your inability to accept the election results, your direct attacks on my President and my fellow Americans who support him, your outright lies, your Fake News, your temper tantrums, your childish gotcha questions, your ravenous hunger to destroy EVERYTHING and EVERYONE who does not align with your political viewpoint is your problem. You have brought this on yourselves.

Your inability to look clear eyed in the mirror and say “I” am the problem, to even consider that you may have gotten some things wrong, your arrogance, your intolerance, your hatred, your racism, your bigotry and your narcissism has led us to this moment. You have brought this on yourselves.

I will no longer be marginalized but will take my full place in society. I am saying NO to you, your agenda and your political philosophy. I will be silenced no more.

I am black, white, brown and yellow. I am male and female. I am young, middle aged and old. I am Democrat, Republican and Independent. I am a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, an atheist and an agnostic. I am a conservative, a liberal and a libertarian.

    I am an American.

I am PROUD of my country and its heritage.

Americans are comfortable with multi-racial, multi-religious society. Moslems are uncomfortable with multi-religious society and secular government because Islam is a political system masquerading as a religion. Moslems ensure that Moslems and Americans cannot mix.

It is even more ironic that slavery is alive and well in the middle east. Alive AND thriving! Sure, on paper, many islamic countries have ended slavery, but in actuality – in REAL life – it continues, and it will, forever more.

Having lived in saudi for almost a decade, I saw it, up close and personal, with my own two eyes. And, not just in saudi, but in bahrain, kuwait, dubai, and parts of egypt. [I refuse to use upper case letters with regard to any islamic or muslime reference, which, to me, implies some sort of respect, and none of it is worthy of the teeny, tiniest iota of respect, in my opinion.]

If black people – men, especially, but women, too – had any idea of the treatment they could expect in one of those countries, their opinions and attitudes would be a far cry different than what we are seeing, today. You are spot on, gofer, about their revered leader, and ditto for the texts! All, right there in black and white for the entire world to see.

The countries I listed, would come to a complete stand still, if every single one of the “imported” workers, from other third world countries, returned home. I know that saudi would be unable to produce their “black gold,” the product which provides the wealth, there, if every single American, British, Canadian worker left. We were “ex-pats,” there, and paid incredibly well. That’s why people like us go there to work – it certainly isn’t for the weather or the culture! It is for the money, and anyone who says differently is lying. As far as the other “imported” workers, they are the slaves! They are promised good jobs and pay, and once they get there find out that the position they were promised is NOT what they will be doing. They WILL be manual laborers, and they WILL work six days a week in rather undesirable conditions. Doesn’t matter if you’re not muslime, either. You WILL observe the islamic religion and you WILL do so under their sharia laws. Oh, and that money you were promised? You’re going to get only part of it. Once the workers get there, they are stuck. Virtual prisoners. But it’s not slavery [cough, cough]. There are no “OSHA” regulations over there, and no inspectors to say that the work you are doing is unsafe. Workers die, there, and it is no big deal. A thousand more will be imported the next day.

For female workers, the conditions are often much, much worse. They, too, are “manual” laborers, but not outside laborers. The position as a “nanny” caring for a couple of children sounded good, before you got there, and learned that along with taking care of a couple of children you will also be the maid and cook. You will likely work seven days a week, instead of six. If you are there for the month that ramadan takes place, prepare to work around the clock with very, very little rest.

Oh – and back to the color of your skin – because that is important. The darker your skin, the more harshly you’ll be treated. There is a “caste” type system in place, there, and it is the shade of your darkness which will determine just how far down on the rungs of the proverbial ladder that you will be placed. Racism exists in that part of the world on a scale unimaginable, here, in America!

I wrote about the abuse of these workers, quite a bit, while we lived there. That was a whole very different part of my life which, today, seems almost surreal. Anyone interested can google “stilettos in the sand,” the blogspot “stilettos in the sand,” and “maid abuse.” Perhaps some of the pictures that I included in those posts, which I copied from the two local newspapers, are still available for viewing. I removed many of my own personal photos, for safety reasons, when I was threatened for writing about something a muslime didn’t agree with: he said he knew who I was, and he likely did. There was only one American woman, there, who every day took “The Boy” and “The Baby” for a long jaunt around our compound, a Great Dane and a Standard Poodle. With the two fur babies, I was very easily identified.

Slavery? It has been removed from civilized countries. It thrives in muslime countries!

Here’s the thing about cultural Marxism. First and foremost, it seeks to divide us. We stand as “one nation under God.” As such, The United States of America is kryptonite to the UN’s New World Order.

First, they mess with God. Our Constitution protects freedom of religion. They twist it’s meaning to become freedom “from” religion. That’s a classic Alinsky ploy.

Then, they confront us with a “religion” that demands jihad, the murder of non-believers. Nice try, but since that “religion” threatens my life and liberty, it’s no go.

Ah, it all boils down to the US Constitution. That is our true wall as it protects the “rights” of all citizens within it. Marxists keep crashing up against it, and bouncing right off. Now they must confront it by proposing a “rewrite.” The Supreme Court is sworn to uphold it “as is.” (No wonder Scalia was found with a pillow over his face!)

Don’t let those Alinskyites who seek to divide and conquer, obscure the real issues. Big men who play with their balls are free to stand, or sit, or scratch their large behinds. American citizens are also free to shun those who deeply offend us.

The point is that neither side can force the other to desist. This is the beauty of the US Constitution: Spoiled millionaires are “free” to offend, and offended citizens are “free” to spend their money elsewhere.

Keep your eye on the ball. It’s ALWAYS (Orlando) ..ALWAYS (Charlottesville) ..ALWAYS (NFL).. about attacking the US Constitution and our freedoms and rights therein.

So, let the big crybabies hide like rats inside their tunnels. Let them give our Star Spangled Banner the cold shoulder. Whatever. It doesn’t matter. We are stronger than they are, because we will always remain “ONE NATION, UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE for ALL.”

The rules are found on pages A62-63 of the league’s game operations manual:
The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

Beautiful response, spot on. No words to describe Tomlin. Is there 1 NFL owner that will stand up and praise America? Is there 1 owner that will hold his players accountable on the field to respect the flag?

Jerry Jones, Owner of the Dallas Cowboys called a meeting with all of his Coaches, Players and field staff and firmly told them, “You are all simply paid performers on a stage and that field is my stage! You will stand, with your hand over your heart and with respect, when our Country’s National Anthem is being played or you will no longer be a Dallas Cowboy, a Coach for the Dallas Cowboys or have any association with the Dallas Cowboy Organization! I will immediately fire you, no matter who you are!”

I know he said that before the NFL seemed to come to their unity ban, has he said anything since all of the bs yesterday?
I applaud what he said, but if he doesn’t speak out against what the NFL is doing then he’s lumped in the same boat. Which, unfortunately for him even if he does he’s going to be in the same boat, because if the NFL collapses, so does his franchise.

I just saw an article on it along with the picture of JJ and rest of staff along with players, kneeling with their arms linked.

IMO, it was the same bullshit, NFL owners are all a bunch of idiots. JJ talked big, but the truth is it was all talk. This proves it.

I know he’s going to make the argument we didn’t disrespect the flag, just as some Steelers are trying to make the argument they didn’t disrespect the flag by staying hid.
I’m sure a lot of people tuned in to see what would happen, I would bet that’s going to be the best ratings they have for awhile.

  24. Thank you, Stella! My thoughts exactly. Being southern means football is a part of your life and heritage. I love football. However, after this weekend, I really don’t plan on watching any football game where the teams disrespect America. If they stand, I will watch. If they sit, the TV is being changed over to I love Lucy reruns. I love the game of football, but not these millionaire cry-babies who are reaping the benefits of being an American but choose the spit on their blessings. I say, let’s send them all over to Afghanistan “to participate” along side our brave American soldiers. Don’t give them guns nor body armour because it’s “racist”. They will cower and pray that the Good Lord saves their sorry asses. Then let’s see how they feel about America. Just because you have a lot of money, doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone else. Give me a good day at NASCAR with a bunch of “everyday Americans” rather than watch a bunch of self-absorbed millionaire adolescents.

Sorry for the rant, but I’m sick of all this PC CRAP. If you have a beef with something, try to correct it on your own time.

Lovely’s words expressed eloquently and bluntly what too many of us have either kept bottled up or been marginalized into such submission we’re afraid to speak our minds.

This should be sent to every advertiser supporting the NFL.

Part of Rush Limbaugh’s comment today:

But if you’ll permit me first, I was personally saddened. I did not watch the National Football League yesterday, and it was the first time in 45 years that I made an active decision not to watch, including my team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was not a decision made in anger. It was genuine sadness. I realized that I can no longer look at this game and watch this game and study this game and pretend, you know, fantasize, everything a fan does. This whole thing has removed for me the ingredients that are in the recipe that make up a fan.

In my neck of the woods, the “Team” is everyone from the groundskeepers to the cheerleaders to the players. If one wins, they all win. If one loses, they all lose. If they go to the Playoffs, everyone gets paid more. If they go to the Superbowl, everyone gets paid more. It is share and share alike. I wonder how the rest of the “Team” feels about all this.

Someone on that “Team” tends the flags that fly over all of those stadiums that the NFL DOES NOT OWN. The people of those towns are in debt for them, whether they wanted them or not. They also took tax breaks to build them.

It was nice to see the cheerleaders on the field yesterday. At least the female Team members showed some class. My guess is they were not even given a vote. The BIG BULLY men decided for everyone.

Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones knelt together PRIOR to the anthem and the flag appearing….THEN they stood linked arm in arm DURING the anthem and the appearance of the flag on field. Jerry is a smart cookie….the kneeling did the number for the NFL brats to be OK, but his TEAM played to the DALLAS fans who are patriots, and they stood for the National Anthem and the FLAG.

If tomorrow all the footballs were gone,

And I had to play again,
With just my children and my wife.
    I’d thank my lucky stars,
    To be living here today.
Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
And jocks can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died,
Who gave that right to me.

    And I gladly stand up,
Next to you and defend her still today.
Cause there aint no doubt I love this land,
    God bless the USA.

    From the lakes of Minnesota,
    To the hills of Tennessee.
    Across the plains of Texas,
    From sea to shining sea.
    From Detroit down to Houston,
    And New York to L.A.
Well there’s pride in every American heart,
And it’s time we stand and say.

That I’m proud to be an American,
Where at least I know I’m free.

Military supporters and current Military. You’re all encouraged to assist in a National boycott of the NFL for Sunday November 12th, (Veterans Day Weekend.)
We need to show OUR unity by Boycotting all NFL football telecasts and not attend games in person as well. It will prove our point if all fans and all ticket holders stay away from attending any NFL games especially on our sacred VETERANS DAY WEEKEND.
Let them play in EMPTY stadiums. MAKE THEM APOLOGIZE!
Let Roger Goodell know that WE have been offended by hitting him right in his pocket.
Pass this post along to all your friends and family. Honor our military, some of whom had to come home with the American Flag draped over their coffin.
Continue with the weekly boycott of televised games until they get the message

Okay, so I heard a broadcaster on ESPN trying to explain why certain players are not standing for the national anthem. Apparently they have convinced themselves that the 3rd verse which says, “And where is that band who so vauntingly swore-That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion,-A home and a country, should leave us no more?-Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution.-No refuge could save the hireling and slave-From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave” is referring to slavery and that the anthem itself is thus an anthem to slavery.

    SERIOUSLY? ?

    A history lesson…
First, the anthem was written during th war of 1812. The hireling they refer to are the German/Hessian mercenaries that the British used in the Revolutionary war. The “slaves” referred to was one of the principle reasons for the War of 1812, which was the English Navy’s tradition of capturing American merchant ships with their Navy and then taking whichever sailors they wanted into involuntary servitude for years…and thus making virtual slaves out of them. The US had demanded that they stop, but they would not…and that, among other reasons led to the War of 1812. It and the anthem/song had nothing to to with the slaves in the southern part of the country. Please try and teach folks and set history straight. These people are either knowingly telling a lie, or are being manipulated in their ignorance. There are probably both in this “movement” to try and unabashedly defame the national anthem. As I say…set them straight. Thanks for listening.
