Yes, saw it, either on Redbox or Netflix – wouldn’t pay movie prices.
It’s a good historical piece but just seems to me to be over-preachy, it’s heavily centered on the racism aspect wrapped up in the space launch. To me it was one of the endless stream of ‘look how terrible all you white folks were and still largely are’ movies that have flowed out of Hollywood for the last decade or so.
Considering their greater percentage of the minority population I’m surprised that the Latinos haven’t received an equal potrion of the LHTAYWFWASLA movie genre…maybe the Hollywood prog moguls don’t want to upset their pool boys, nannys and assorted house staff.

China says N. Korean quake ‘suspected explosion’; S. Korea says likely natural

    http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/china-says-n-korean-quake-suspected-explosion-s-korea-says-likely-natural/ar-AAsncjT?OCID=ansmsnnews11

BEIJING/SEOUL — China’s earthquake administration said on Saturday it had detected a magnitude 3.4 earthquake in North Korea that was a “suspected explosion,” raising fears the isolated state had conducted another nuclear bomb test weeks after its last one.

An official at South Korea’s meteorological agency said they were analyzing the tremor, which they put at magnitude 3.0, but the initial view was that it was a natural quake.

“We use several methods to tell whether earthquakes are natural or manmade,” said the official, who asked for anonymity. “A key method is to look at the seismic waves or seismic acoustic waves and the latter can be detected in the case of a manmade earthquake. In this case we saw none. So as of now we are categorizing this as a natural earthquake.”

The earthquake was detected in Kilju county in North Hamgyong Province, where North Korea’s known Punggyeri nuclear site is located, the official said.

The Chinese administration said in a statement on its website that the quake, which occurred around 0830 GMT, was recorded a depth of zero kilometers. All of North Korea’s previous six nuclear tests registered as earthquakes of magnitude 4.3 or above. …

I’m betting there are so many satellites zeroed in on NK now that the space-space overhead looks like the I-10 on the Friday afternoon of a three day holiday. We’ve got ours, China and Russia, possibly Israel and the commercial soacenphotog services all have theirs…all looking.
You gotta dig a big hole to underground test and that leaves a huge telltale trail readily spotted from space. Plus the prep process would not be hidden by the NK, it would be part of the ‘finger in the eye’ process of the test itself. They’d advertise it.
NK’s been saying its next test will be a Pacific test with a fusion weapon and if they do pop obe I don’t think they’ll do it underground, as momentous as the shot would be they’d want it out in the open so that the fusion aspect could be proven, West couldn’t say it was just a really big fission shot.
The NK might not risk a Pacific shot as that would probably be the last straw for China, China might invade on its own (number of good reasons for China to do that) to prevent the West from doing a regime change and the West might just go along with it. At this point I’m voting ‘earthquake’.

czar….absolutely agree…would not be surprised if Trump already discussed with China that should the only solution to the NK threat, rather than the USA destroying the entire country, that we would not interfere and would support China directly invading and taking over the entire NK nation and deposing and executing the military leaders and Kimmie….cheapest solution….China gets to prevent refugees surging into their country, SK and the US families and military there are protected, and the problems of sanctions against trade are over.

Trump has likely already posed this solution should the NK issue get hotter soon.

The Chinese and Koreans don’t take many long, warm showers together, there’s no love lost. The main reason China attacked in the Korean War was the US was getting too close to the Chinese border and they feared an invasion or, at least, a US puppet state right on their border.
Note that early on the Chinese stated they would not accept a ‘regime change’ in NK. People thought that meant they objected to Kim going bye bye when the Chinese just don’t want the South to take over the North, putting that threat of a US puppet state right on their border again. As long as the NK government stays pro-China and anti-South/US they’re good.
As for Japan the Chinese and Koreans have an almost genetic hatred of the country and people. I’m still waiting for China and NK to add a ‘nuke free’ Japan point to any deal they might make over a denuke agreement. A nuclear Japan is a Chibese nightmare.

Korean-American Professor Couple Identify Major Cause of Autism

    http://www.koreadailyus.com/korean-american-professor-couple-identify-major-cause-autism/

The couple found that certain bacteria in the mother’s digestive tract can lead to having an autistic child. Furthermore, they found the exact brain location linked to autistic behaviors, which can be used to find a cure for autism.

Science journal ‘Nature’ published the couple’s two research studies on the 14th. The couple are Harvard Medical School’s professor Huh Jun-ryeol, and MIT’s professor Gloria Choi.

The studies vividly explain the detailed process of a pregnant mouse, which is infected by a virus, having offspring that shows autistic behaviors.

The researchers found out that certain bacteria in the mother’s digestive tract can develop immune cells that directly influence the baby’s brain cells development. When the researchers removed the bacteria with antibiotics, the mouse had a normal baby mouse…

Wow, that is REALLY interesting. Considering the vital role of gut bacteria in proper digestion and the creation/utilization of B-vitamins how do you selectively knock out the bad ones…or do you nuke ’em all?
Interesting as Koreans live on fermented foods, have generally longer lives and a diet seen as healthier than the Western ones. Those fermented goods help maintain the proper bacterial load, unlike a diet high in processed foods, so even if you do nuke the bad uns how fo you keep them from infiltrating back into the gut?

Not necessarily, and as I said in my other comment on ADHD, I believe there are several causes for similar but not identical conditions, all lumped under autism. That’s why they refer to it as “autism spectrum disorder”.

I have heard it said that the timing of autism symptoms and MMR vaccination may be coincidence, since the MMR is usually given at a particular age. So far no genuine link between autism and vaccination has been proven.

The bacteria may be part of the cause of autism in the boy who has a different genetic code than the girl thus their genes responded differently to the bacteria. So they are not mutually exclusive statements. Perhaps something about boys’s genes in general make them more susceptible to the genetic root(s) of autism.

Nuerons in different bodies will do different things even if the genes are identical.

In the case of fraternal twins they do not share any more genetics than siblings who were not in the womb with them at the same time.

                Interesting study;

TWINS STUDY FINDS LARGE GENETIC INFLUENCE IN AUTISM

                https://iancommunity.org/autism-twins-study

Many studies analyze whether a set of twins both have an autism diagnosis or not. Dr. Frazier’s team did too. If one identical twin has autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the other twin has a 76 percent chance of also being diagnosed with it. The numbers are lower for fraternal twins. The percentage of fraternal twins who each share an ASD diagnosis is 34 percent for same-sex twins and 18 percent for boy-girl pairs, Dr. Frazier said. (Girls are less likely to be diagnosed with autism than boys). Those statistics are similar to other twin studies, including the California one.2, 3

                *****

Perhaps a portion of the root cause of autism comes down to alleles, our genes with high markers and low markers, since genes are affected by nature and nurture one twin may perceive the world one way while a twin with identical genes perceives stimuli another way. That twist in perception may have an affect on the alleles.

All sorts of folks are trying to figure out why a gene swings one way for one person and another way for a different person.

                ****

Although it doesn’t sound like the study has gone beyond mice it still seems like a very reasonable theory to me. It would help to explain families with multiple children with autism. The mother can be a host of a bacteria that does her no harm whatsoever but does harm her child.

‘Fraud’: Mainstream polls use 29% more Democrats than Republicans

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/fraud-mainstream-polls-use-29-more-democrats-than-republicans/article/2635271

Most of the top political polls that got the 2016 presidential race dead wrong are continuing to use a flawed methodology in rating President Trump’s approval ratings that favors Democrats, women and younger voters, according to a new analysis.

The report shows that the mainstream polls oversample an average of 29 percent more Democrats than Republicans and the results skew anti-Trump. The result is that it robs Trump of about 8 points in his approval ratings, from 46 percent to 38 percent, it said.

And, said the report from Bombthrowers.com, one outfit, the Economist, used 58 percent more Democrats than Republicans in a recent poll on Trump’s approval ratings.

I don’t understand how the English people can just take it. Scotland wasn’t too bad at the time, but we hear it’s really creeped northward.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, we pray for all the people who have been affected by the earthquakes and hurricanes.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
