    Speaking of poetry and farms;

99-year-old grandpa still works on the family farm, providing an example for his kids and grandkids

Many times his feet have walked this soil,

He has weathered both the hardships and the joy,

Enduring both the good times and the bad.

To him the land seems free and holy.

    Together they have worked,

Each doing their part to make things whole in the end.

    At times life was hard,

    But looking back,

He knows he would choose no other path of life other than to be a farmer.

This land and he have become one.

Though he is no longer young and has been faced with many challenges in his life,

He has conquered all and still wears a smile.

He is both a hero and an example.

He is one of the strongest people I have ever known,
    He is my grandfather …

    My grandfather the farmer.

Here is today’s painting dedicated to the innocence of children (interesting how often they include dogs):

This painting is by Michel Honoré Bounieu (1740–1814). He was a French painter of historical and genre subjects, and a mezzotint engraver. He became a member of the Academy at Paris in 1767. He was keeper of the prints at the Bibliothèque Nationale from 1792 to 1794, and for the next twenty years professor of drawing at the École des Ponts-et-Chaussées. He exhibited many pictures at the Salon, and at his own studio. The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux has a Head of a Woman, and a Baigneuses by him. He had a daughter, Emilie Bounieu, later Madame Raveau, who inherited her father’s talent, and exhibited historical subjects and portraits from 1800 to 1819.
I love this child’s face. It was what captured my attention when searching for paintings to post. Also the various textures in the painting: the soft face, the hard metal, the folds of cloth, and fur on the dog. That’s a lot for a little painting.
Thank you all for BF, smiles, information, and your wonderful selves! 🙂 I probably will not post until next week. Finally after 3 attempts we are having our oak trees, and some of the larger pines (75-80 ft), cut down. I have been having severe, even anaphylactic allergic reactions to the mold on the oak leaves every fall and spring as they decompose. I am so praying that stops!
God please protect those in harm’s way today, and those who die with no time to prepare. Please turn the hearts of the evil ones to You, and thank you for protecting our internet friends. Amen

    • Gorgeous painting. That little one is sleeping so serenely, with the ever faithful family dog watching over her. Very angelic. 🙂

G & C, I hope getting rid of the pines improves things for you health wise. I think pines are beautiful, but they make me miserable as well, not to the extent you experience, but extremely unpleasant symptoms nonetheless. Take care and feel better soon! 😊

Gatekeeper of DC Society Sally Quinn Comes Out as Occultist, Used Hex to Kill People
Maybe, thanks to the dribs and drabs that have bubbled up over the past year, we are starting to have that question answered. The latest revelation surrounds Sally Quinn, the surviving widow of Bill Bradlee, the Washington Post’s powerful executive editor is an occultist, a witch of sorts who honestly believes (according to her own memoir) that she murdered three innocent people through the dark art of the hex . Almost as troubling is the matter-of-fact way in which the Washington Post informs us of this bombshell, in the Outlook section under the chatty headline, “Sally Quinn’s hexes, marital ultimatums and visceral love of her son.” What in God’s name is going on here? We have just discovered that one of the primary movers and shakers of the last half-century is a practicing occultist, and…Nothing. Nobody cares. Worse still, our Ruling Class is now joking about Quinn putting a deadly hex on President Trump.
I had wanted to post a thoughtful explanation of the Miracle of Fatima today, but must mark trees to be cut for tomorrow morning. God will only let this go on for so long. Part of what Mary, Mother of God, taught the children to pray on July 13, 1917 is “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, and lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.” I urge those who who are unfamiliar to read up on this miracle. It was witnessed by thousands. May God have mercy on all our souls. See you next week.

Where you live sounds like our MN location. Now not so much, but I am glad to be “in town” now that I’z by my self. Makes maintenance of yard, self, and equipment doable. Being in an over-55 development helps a lot. I’m sort of at the edge of this 1500 house development which was built in the ’60s. Just beyond that that there line of treest, behind the houses across the street, is open country.

The traffic by my house each day might occasionally approach double digits, but not off. We are that group of old people who 1) fly American flags, often accompany by the POW/MIA flag; 2) consider personal privacy sort of holy; 3) appreciate and know our neighbors; and 4) are heavily armed.

It’s the best for me at this point and I’m all grateful,

Oh! Yes – not much left by the time you clean ’em. Guess you’d have to do it just for the fun of it and to teacher the younger generation how to get their thinkin’ straight!

Thematic…seems there are studies showing that it’s generally better to have seniors in nursing homes shelter in place a, if evacuated, they show double the risk of death and four times the risk of hospitalization.
Interesting, but as happened in Katrina what about unscrupulous nursing home owners who abandoned their elderly charges to drown, ignoring even the paper-tiger state approved hurricane plans they had to have? Also, how do they go about providing power and other vital services to the residents?

I actually agree about seniors needing to shelter in place – but I’ve noticed all the joints around here are a) generally one story, b) do not seem to have any kind of generator back c) are staffed by incompetent sub-human millenials that would be the FIRST to bug out in a crisis and are nearly ALWAYS in some Godforsaken ghetto part of town.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, we pray for help for the people of Texas and Louisiana who are caught in the flooding. And, now we add everyone in the path of Irma to our prayer for safety.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
