Batteries and flashlights are good. And peanut butter! I almost ran out of dog food here and remembered it at the last moment, it is one of those unforgivable things in our house.

Good reminder. I need to take some into our little hidey hole for my doggie. We are going to sit it out in the downstairs bathroom which is big enough for a toilet and a sink, just barely and has a low ceiling. I did figure out I can take an outdoor chair which is narrow and rocks and fit it between the toilet and the sink. It will be much more comfortable to sit in.

Bring something soft also like pillows so you can comfortably readjust yourself and aren’t sort of stuck sitting in one position. Do you have any battery powered fans?

Yes. I have a battery powered fan with many extra batteries and it work GREAT!! My friend who went thru the last hurricane that hit here said to get water and battery operated fan. When the air cond. goes off, it will be unbearable. So, I found one on Amazon and got it late last year.

Happy to hear it! 🙏🏼. I used to have one of those water bottles that had a fan on top of it and when you squeezed the handle you would get a wet breeze to cool yourself off.

I think flooding would be minimal where we are. Hopefully anyway. However, I just heard that there was a tornado in the SW corner of Polk County. 😯 It was in an open field. So, no one was injured. It is raining steadily and there are gusts of wind that aren’t real bad yet. My little doggie is staying right under my feet and keeps looking up at me with that “This isn’t good, Mommie”, look on her face. I am glad I have some treats with melanin in them that calms her. I am just waiting to give them for a few hours.

The two of you are in a good place, especially with the tornado report. Would still keep a second supply of essential upstairs, just in case the creek does rise and you need to make a hasty adjustment in location. Don’t forget to keep the phone charged. If the electricity goes out; it could be awhile before the outlets have power, again. Question: Is there enough room in there for you, your doggie, and all the “Remember to do this” lists? 😉
P.S.- Remind your doggie that it could be worse; she could be in the carrier. 😉

L’Innocence by William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) is one of his most famous paintings. He he used classical, religious, and mythological themes, making modern interpretations of classical subjects, with an emphasis on the female human body. During his life he enjoyed significant popularity in France and the United States, was given numerous official honors, and received top prices for his work. As the quintessential salon painter of his generation, he was reviled by the Impressionist avant-garde. By the early twentieth century, Bouguereau and his art fell out of favor with the public, due in part to changing tastes. In the 1980s, a revival of interest in figure painting led to a rediscovery of Bouguereau and his work. Throughout the course of his life, Bouguereau executed 822 known finished paintings, although the whereabouts of many are still unknown.

last Tuesday, I taught a French class as HS as a sub…they still think that I speak French…lol
Nex on Wednesday I taught Spanish I and Spanish IV classes, also on Thursday…by Thursday they figured out that I do not speak Spanish.
So on Friday….they gave me an English As A Second Language class all day….so I had a kid that speaks, French, a kid that speaks Farsi, a kid that speaks Amaric, and a bunch of kids that speak various varieties of Spanish…..none of whom speak ANY English….and I was supposed to teach them how to properly write an English Paragraph with Capitalization, Indentation, and Punctuation.
Rots a Ruck…..they thing they had the hardest to grasp……was INDENTATION of the first sentence…go figure….but, we all survived, and they were a bunch of good kids, no absences, no behavioral issues, and they worked really hard all class long…unlike the Spanish IV kids.
So….with the dreamers being all so valuable to our nation like they claim…..there are not enough teachers to teach them ENGLISH with they do not try to learn, and the schools are choking on these not English speakers….try teaching Algebra and Geometry and Chemistry and Physics when they cannot communicate in English…..sheeeesh…… No one considers the cost of this phenomenon in our school systems for these “immigrants”….the ones that are losers are the actual English Speaking kids of legit citizens who try to get an education….

Late season hummingbirds showed up last week. Just one came by so we put out a feeder, then two, one of which is a humming-hog who chases others away. So I put out another feeder 20 feet away: now there is a humming-hog for each feeder chasing off about 5 others! Czar went to a talk by a birder who claimed there are 10 hummers for every one you count. I guess I’ll have to believe him, because other than males from females, I can’t tell them apart & can just count how many are here at one time.

At the house I had in the country, my parents had an apt. add on. Dad put out a feeder and had to refill it every other day and there were many hummers fighting over it. So I put another one on my porch to draw some away. And, then another one his back porch and another one on my back porch. The more we put out the more birds we had. My husband stayed out front and I went out back and we counted 40 hummingbirds using our feeders. LOL

I like those. I just checked the one I have and it is an led. But, I might still want another. I always buy my sister and BIL Christmas presents from LLBEAN. They live way up in BC and wear warm things most of the year round. When you order something, they send you a $10 off certificate. I could then order the lamp for $19. Hm. I might do that.
