DACA is in the news, big time.

    The lefties are more concerned
    about the illegals’ dreams;
    than the USA citizens’ dreams.

Something to remember when DACA is mentioned…

    Kelsey Engelsen (1992 ∼ 2017) leaves a 2-year-old daughter…

The Break Time Lounge was a favorite spot for Kelsey; she worked a couple of shifts there a week, had friends who worked there and was dating the owner, friends and family said.

It appears that she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, Lynn Engelsen said, when Carlos Ruben Rodriguez allegedly opened fire.

Rodriguez, 24, was taken into custody Jan. 29 by the local sheriff’s office, and was charged with second-degree murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Rodriguez had 19 entries in the court’s system dating to 2006. The charges range from bicycle regulation violations to possession of marijuana to the recent murder charge, with a majority of them involving traffic violations. Five of the cases had been disposed.

In 2012, Rodriguez was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, all of which were later dropped; two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill, which were not prosecuted; and shooting a deadly weapon into a dwelling, for which he was found guilty.

The family plans to bury Kelsey Engelsen near her grandmother in Marstons Mills.

We’re going to bring in all of these folks who don’t speak English, come from failed countries and have zero concept of what democracy entails and have them hit the ground running as fully functioning citizens. Yeah, that should work.

And THAT is the real question. Their answer is that they pay tax on things they buy. 🙄

If they register with DACA, they get a SS number and a work permit. Others can file tax returns without a SS number, using an “ITIN”, or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. The ITIN has been used in the past to obtain tax credits (negative tax activity).

This may be racist or profiling on my part, but I’m going to still assume they’re illegal when I see them in the grocery line buying food with their food stamp card and turning around and using their welfare card for non food items and their small children are translating for them. Doesn’t look like those pay much in sales tax either.

I’ve never comprehended how they can government assistance and the double whammy is many of them work, but they get paid under the table and most of them own vehicles, although they’re usually not registered in their name. A guy who owned a Mexican restaurant got in legal trouble several years ago for that scheme. They would come to him, he’d go get insurance under his name and get it tagged for a fee of course. He did it for years then one of them crashed into someone and took off leaving the car behind. Car came back registered to him, of course it no longer had insurance on it, then they discovered he had over 300 cars registered to him. He was making himself quite a side income.

I think that the people who qualified for DAPA and DACA were asked to register to benefit from it. I know the DACA beneficiaries are registered, I believe that they have to check in every two years to remain eligible for the program. The liberals may be learning that government is not your friend regardless of what “good intentions” they think the “gift” comes with.

It irks me that they keep saying that some of these came as young as two years old. However, I don’t think that the ones who came after they were about 10 should be allowed to stay. The argument is that they don’t even know their real country. Well, excuse me, they know their real country if they were that old. They interviewed a girl a few days ago who doesn’t even speak English but is qualified for DACA. Out! Out! I say.

They had one on our local news the other night, they didn’t show her face because ‘she was afraid she’d be deported.’ She whined that her mother brought her here when she was 11 years old and that it is all she knows. She went to public school here and is now in college. (They didn’t ask who was paying for that) Her mother had worked hard as a school janitor all these years. It wasn’t her fault that she was brought here illegally and it wasn’t her mother’s fault who wanted a better life for her. How would we feel if they grabbed us up and forced us out of our country and sent us to a foreign country.

My DH sat there and listened to all of it and then started yelling, “let me get this right you and your mother entered this country illegally and at the least I have paid for your education and your mother’s income and I am supposed to feel sorry for you? How about you thank me for giving you what you’ve been given free and then go back to your country because this one is the ‘foreign’ country to you.”

Or buy one at a local Big Box parking lot kiosk. I found some SSNs that had dozens of users all over the US while working post-911. Found myself wondering if I dhould put mine out there to boost my post-retirement earnings…not as if it’s all that secret anyway.
Interesting thing was we had a rep from the Social Security folks with us.
We weren’t allowed access to their database so the rep had to review each request, decide its merits and then pull the data. We’d be looking at one person, put the SSN he was using into a commercial database used by skip tracers and credit management and would frequently see a handfull of different users show up. I asked the SS guy once why, with their monster computer system, they couldn’t just have folks winnowing for SSNs being abused and go after the illegal users. They had near real-time access to the exact buisness the illegal user was at, they could go in and scoop him/her up easily…no answer, just a shrug of the shoulders.

            • Pretty sure BHO was associated w/ SS# fraud (Arpaio’s Cold Case Posse & Susan Daniels’ E-Verify work, if memory serves) using a number issued from CT from someone born in the 1880s, I think. There was some info on the “Red Diaper Babies” & a systematic use of American identities by going through heartland cemeteries to look for people who died young so their birth certs could be obtained, etc. I’m pretty sure BHO’s criminal associate/mentor/ghost writer Bill Ayers was involved with this activity tellingly…

Okay, this is my admittedly uneducated analysis. The Catholic bishops are okay with the Executive Branch legislating but have for years argued against Roe v Wade because the Supreme Court “legislated from the bench”?

Am I wrong in equating these as hypocrisy? Of course I knew this was coming, it’s totally expected, I just stay furious at American bishops.

    • Not to defend the bishops, but the job of the courts is to enforce the law, not make it. Roe v Wade is bad law and was manufactured by the court and honest people will admit that. There is no right to privacy that can be used to defend abortion in the Constitution. There is a right to be secure against search and seizure, but that’s not the same as a right to privacy.

      Just my two cents.

        • DACA is illegal, you’ll get no argument about that from me. And I don’t think that the president should actually be making law, so I don’t think DACA was legitimate. (The problem is that after Obama I don’t care if Trump uses the old pen-and-phone thing to get rid of DACA, so it’s hard for me to defend the point.)

Based on what you’ve said here, it sounds more like these people oppose whatever legislation they want and agree with whatever they want. Question is, what do the bishops stand to gain from the DACA illegals being here?

I think their answer would be that they are not against Roe v. Wade because the Executive Branch legislated from the bench but rather because abortion is immoral. I would guess the bishops illogically and self-servingly equate the immorality of abortion with sending illegal immigrants back to their native countries and demanding that they obey the law of the land.

DACA recipients came into the U.S. as minors, and many know America as their only home, the statement said.

Hmmm…… I am absolutely sure that is true of some yet still many are waving the flag of Mexico, only speak Spanish, hate America, and the bottom line is they came here illegally.

Sure thing young man, adios, don’t let the border hitya’ in the butt on your way out. (Not to mention many of them are young adults not children at all, and many have criminal records ) IOW the bishops can pound sand.

    Good morning everyone 🙂
Here is today’s painting devoted to the innocence of children, along with a little frivolity.

‘Suspense” by Charles Burton Barber. 30 x 39 inches, sold in 1997 for $442,500
Barber (1845-1894), was primarily known for his charming paintings of children with animals. He was born in Great Yarmouth in Norfolk and entered the Royal Academy when he was 18. Two years later he was awarded a silver medal for drawing. Barber’s greatest love was painting landscapes which he would have exclusively painted, but he had a family to support. Unlike other artists, when he received commissions from Queen Victoria, there was no attempt by the artist to parlay those commissions into a larger reputation for himself. Other than the income from the commissions themselves, he earned no other income from her patronage. Barber’s last painting was for the Queen. At least five of his works remain in The Royal Collection.

This is a very lengthy article. Has been making the rounds. Well worth your time !!!!!!!!!

The fox is in the White House and has a good sized swamp pump!

    Chaos or strategy?
This Might Explain a Lot of Things Going on at The White House
“Apparently, liberals and never-Trumpers are so isolated in their political circles that they have no concept how things work in the real world of business and corporate America. For example, they completely fail to grasp the concept of the “hatchet man.” Allow me to explain:
Say you are a business tycoon. You just successfully completed a large-scale acquisition and merger, bringing together multiple smaller companies into one conglomerate. After the merger, you want to put your own people in charge of everything. However, all those smaller companies had their own executives – and, at least for the short term – you need to keep many of them around the keep things running. So, you keep many of those executives around, and let them retain their own senior staff. You even appoint one of them – the head of the largest of the companies you acquired – to be the CEO of the conglomerate, and he pledges to get all the departments working together harmoniously.

After a transition period, some of them are doing fine in the new conglomerate – but others are clearly causing trouble. In fact, the one you appointed CEO is clearly a disaster. The newly merged departments are working against each other.

Furthermore, you have good suspicion he is dealing in insider trading – nothing you can take to a prosecutor, but there is a lot of circumstantial evidence building up. Worse, he is not only doing his own dirty dealing, but it appears he may even be leaking intellectual property to your competitors, helping them take market share from you.

Clearly, he has to go – and go now.
Problem is, many of the senior employees in your conglomerate are loyal to him. If you just fire him and put in your own chosen CEO, you know you could get a lot of backlash from disgruntled employees. And in your business, there is such a small profit-margin that you really can’t afford anything at all that threatens performance. So what do you do?
    In comes the hatchet man.
The hatchet man is someone you bring in for sole purpose of slashing the problems and shaking things up over a very short period of time – but doing it in a way that deflects any blame or blowback away from you. As soon as the problems are hacked away, the hatchet man leaves – taking the ire and resentment with him, and leaving you free to bring in your new team for a fresh start.
This happens in the business world all the time. And Donald Trump is a businessman. He knows this. He has lived this. We’ve seen him do it on “The Apprentice.” We’ve read about it in his books. This is not a surprise to anyone. Except for liberals and never-Trumpers.

    Enter Scaramucci.
Liberals and never-Trumpers see the past two weeks as proof of a Hitler-clown-circus spectacle, as evidence that Trump is unhinged and our government is in the hands of madmen. Anyone who understands the business world and Donald Trump fully understands that what we just witnessed was a perfectly executed hatchet man maneuver.
When Trump won the election, he essentially performed the political equivalent of an acquisition and merger. He brought together different political factions – establishment Republicans, conservatives, tea party, religious right, moderates, independents, cross-overs – into one winning political coup. For some, it was a hostile takeover – and if they were going to be dragged in against their will, they would sure as hell resist.

This is where Reince Priebus came in.
Priebus, as the then-chairman of the Republican National Committee, was hired as White House Chief of Staff to be a sort of post-merger CEO. It was his job to bring all these political factions together and get them to work harmoniously. But he failed. Worse, there is ample evidence to suggest he not only failed, but worked against Trump and the Trump agenda. Look at the leaks. Look at all the chaos. Look at all the bureaucracy continuing to work at odds with the president. Priebus – and a number of other people around him – had to go.
    Back to Scaramucci.
Donald Trump has known for some time that Priebus was a disaster. He was going to give him his six-month trial period – that’s a fairly common thing in the private sector. After that, heads were going to roll. But Trump himself doesn’t want to be the hatchet man. He needs to be able to lead after the bloodbath. So what does he do? He turns to an old friend he has known for many years – someone with nothing to lose, someone who can step in with a hatchet and hack away, someone who can then just walk away from it all and leave the slate clean. He turned to Scaramucci.

So what does Scaramucci do? He comes in swinging. He fires a few people to make a quick example. He tells others they can “resign” right now if they want to – but if not, they will be fired. Others see what is going on and just up and quit of their own accord.

That problem CEO, Priebus? Oh, the new “structure” of the organization puts Scaramucci in direct competition with Priebus – and Priebus throws up his hands and says “fine, I’m out of here.” And Scaramucci does it all in a way that is spectacularly visible to draw all the fire from Trump critics.

So how does it all end? It ends with Trump putting in his new CEO – the one he probably wanted from day one, but held back – and the new CEO says “OK, Scaramucci – you are no longer needed here.”

Gen. Kelly now has a clean slate to start fresh – and Scaramucci takes all the heat. Where the left and never-Trumpers see a circus freak-show, realists from the business world see a perfectly executed post-merger hatchet-man job.

The political wonks see Kelly taking command as the first sane thing to happen in this administration. They don’t realize they’ve been played, and played perfectly. And soon we will likely see some other changes that move the Executive Branch further towards what Trump has wanted from day one. And then watch the real swamp-drainer get to work. It sucks to be Hillary Clinton right now…

Oh, and Scaramucci? He gets a sweet deal out of all this – no doubt, he and his friend Donald Trump talked it all out first.

Scaramucci was already facing a nasty divorce that would result in the liquidation of his business to divide assets. A little-known law allows people who are legally required to sell a business as a condition of employment in the Executive Branch (to prevent conflicts of interest) to defer the taxes on their profits from the sale.

Scaramucci was going to have to sell his company anyway due to his pending divorce. Now he and his soon-to-be ex-wife just saved $80 million in taxes. So don’t think for a moment all this was an unplanned mess that went awry. Scaramucci and Trump knew exactly what they were doing.

All of this was planned – and foreseen. Scott Adams wrote before Trump was inaugurated that, to his critics, the first year of Trump would be a play in three acts:
Act One – Trump is literally Hitler.
Act Two – Trump is not literally Hitler, but Trump is incompetent.
Act Three – Trump is not incompetent, but we don’t like his policies.

We’ve seen this play out. From election night up through the first 100 days, the left was out rioting and acting as though Trump taking office was literally the end of Western Civilization.

But after 100 days, when Trump had failed to do evil-dictator things like round up all the brown people and put the gays into camps and force women to stay home and have babies, it became farcical to continue the “Trump is Hitler” narrative.

And so from that 100 day point up until now, it has been the “Trump is incompetent” game. Look at all the chaos. Look at all the leaking. Look at all the tweets. Now, we begin Act Three. With Priebus out and Kelly in, things will settle down. Pretty soon, all the left will have to say is “we just don’t like Trump’s policies.”…Act Three.

And once that happens, the left is dead. Because, Trump’s policies are policies that most Americans actually agree with. We should put America first. Build back our economy. Create jobs. Strengthen the military. Protect the border. Outside a few densely-populated liberal strongholds like New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and – of course – Washington, D.C., Americans in general agree with all of this. So when all the left has to say is “Trump’s policies are wrong,” the left will literally be telling most of America, “you people are stupid.”

Trump should win 47 states in 2020. The left will be scratching their heads and wondering what the hell happened. And you’ll be able to look back and say, “hey, we told you in 2017.”

This type of HIT has been used in the Military many times….. The New Commander, or the Executive Officer (2IC). Mostly the Executive Officer cleans up the Command so the fair hair guy comes in and takes credit or has a smooth Command tour. I have been the Executive Officer. One time I was given 15 tasks to accomplish in order clean up a Battalion within a Month. Accomplished 14 of the tasks, Division Commander thank me and I moved on…….

This is all spot on Col. Thanks, I posted this right after Scaramucci left the administration.

Scaramucci had one job to do; get rid of Reince and his faithful friend Spicer.

The Mooch came in like a wrecking ball, well done sir, well done 🙂 .

Making team Reince (including that rat Paul Ryan) wet themselves over Scaramucci was a bonus.

That makes a lot of sense to me. The funny thing is, Scaramucci came in and did it in 3 days. 🙂

Unless, of course, a fascist progressive, courtesy the Deep State and Soros, takes him out.

Our nation has a long history of that sort of behavior by these folks.

I have thought, worried and prayed about this since November 8th, 2016.

But the longer we go, the harder the Left falls, the deeper the Left digs it’s own grave, the more I am convinced that President Trump has more safeguards in place, an the enemy is well aware of those safeguards, than does Julian Assange.

I pray, we all pray, that sweet lady who said God wakes her up every morning at 4am to pray for president Trump prays, the Left ain’t praying, not to the God of Light.

Be still and know that I am God….__Psalm 46:10

Imagine if we got to the point where all the NYP could do was run headlines reading Trump calls Ivanka “Honey” “Baby” During Tax Reform Speech.

Oh, yeah, you don’t need to imagine it we are there.

The more ludicrous the MSM headlines become the more secure I feel in President Trump’s safety from a deep state assassination.

Something has changed in the MSM and with politicians lately. I can’t put my finger on it specifically but someone is standing with a jackboot on their lapels. Closer to neck every day.

I’ve changed my mind a bout publicly identifying the fireworks perps who started the Columbia Gorge fire, which is now over 31,000 acres and zero % contained at this hour.

Last night on fresh bulletins in news, the 15 year old who was seen throwing smoke bombs and fireworks down into ravines below him was video’d by adults on the trail as they tried to stop him, and he was smart mouthing them.

The police agencies asked for crowd-assistance in the news last night. Tonight there are reports and video brfought forth by others who video taped the very beginning of the fire, including those at a bit of a distance who saw what was happening and made use of their cell phones and smart phones.

Aside from the reality of what these kids (about 2-3 of them apparently) have done which is now history, the potential for legal ramifications is still not clear. There certainly are such – but I don’t know what they are. It is not possible for them to either restore or pay for what they have done. So I don’t know.

But I’m losing interest in the relevance of their privacy because of their attitude, their giggling (which was recorded)…….so there ya go.

One agency spokesperson thanking everybody just actgually used the phrase “it truly does take a vaillage…..” I may have to throw something at the TV…..oh, well…….

I-84 in both directions will be closed indefinitely, still. There are about 2000 huge trees along the eastbound side that are damaged, etc. that need to be dealt with. Look at a map of the interstates – there really aren’t many ways to get from Idaho to this area. The only other option is to go straight west from Spokane t Seattle and to say that’s not convenient doesn’t begin to explain. The truckers are really in trouble. The two lane state highways can’t really take what the big rigs bring….and at this point, all the east west traffic from I-84is being dumped on those little highways.

Ah – they are just beginning to talk about legal consequences for the specific teen who started the fire: (they do seem to talk specifically about the one as well as two or three others)

The PTB are collecting evidence. No arrests made yet.

“On top of criminal charges, federal agencies can bring fines and charges” against both him and his family….just said. It will all take a very long time, I suspect. If he is charged as a minor, maybe that would make fines against the family easier. Who knows. Don’t think it matters much. They can’t ever make this right. He just just be assigned to work on trail maintenance his entire life. With a toothbrush.

More likely than not the perpetrator will be charged as an adult. Good.

I believe if there is a death because of their actions that started the fire, they can be charged with manslaughter or something. I would be good with that.

Did a little reading of Oregon law.

        From the Oregon Arson Unit;

Arson is recognized as the highest dollar loss crime and the most violent means of loss of life to the citizens of Oregon. The need exists to protect the people of Oregon from loss of life and property by reducing the crime of arson, arson-related crimes and the prevention of future violent crimes by identifying and targeting serial / predatory / habitual violent offenders.

        ………

The law always requires the reasonable person test, “Would a reasonable person understand the possible if not probable consequences of throwing smoke bombs and fireworks down into ravines, could they foresee that their actions would possibly/probably start a fire, could starting a fire possibly/probably kill people.

The answer to that is a simple yes.

Arson is a Class A felony in Oregon, it seems a class A felony does not automatically move a juvenile to adult status but likely a judge would use his discretion to waive a juvenile case to adult court.

        (2) Arson in the first degree is a Class A felony. [1971 c.743 §144; 1991 c.946 §1; 2005 c.706

        https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/164.325

If more than one person dies this should automatically be aggravated murder under two statutes.

There was more than one murder victim in the same criminal episode as defined in ORS.

        https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/163.095

When the same conduct or criminal episode, though violating only one statutory provision, results in death, injury, loss or other consequences of two or more victims, and the result is an element of the offense defined, there are as many offenses as there are victims.

        https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/131.505

In Oregon the legal age of reason is 15.

    lilbirdee12’s prayer:

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.

Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.

Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.

Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.

We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.

And, Lord, we pray for help for the people of Texas and Louisiana who are caught in the flooding. And, now we add everyone in the path of Irma to our prayer for safety.

In Jesus name, we pray. Amen
