    This is soooooooooo much better than Bush II’s pathetic ‘fly the flagpole’ trip sfter Katrina. He had crappy advisors and they really let him down. He could have landed at someplace like Barksdale and had a smaller plane take him in to any one of a number of local ones where a Coast Guatd or Army chopper could have picked him up. Instead he does a few loops of the mess and it’s bsck to DC.
    You could argue that his whiney prissy advisors would have gasped at the prospect of his venturing out without his support team, medical staff, etc. could also have been argued that as POTUS he could have taken the small risk, put his faith in the troops he commanded and act like a CinC. It came back to haunt Bush and I’m betting that fiasco figured into Trump’s going there. Not even that vampire of disasters Obama made it to see Sandy as fast as Trump got to Houston.

        He returned on September 11th, I believe he landed at Belle Chasse on the dry side and motored in. Damage was done by then though, that flyover was seized by thebpress like a pitbull grabs a bone and that ill-advised release of the pic showing him staring out of AF1’s window is a major nail in his administration’s coffin.
        Trump’s there while it’s still raoning, while rescues are still going on, right in the thick of it and the best the MSM can fo is bitch about Melania’s ensamble. Bush should have gone in likewise, uding a dirty chopper, military crew and landed in the midst of the crap. That would have bookended his appearance on the 911 pile.
